Hello Kiwi.... Nice to talk to you again mate...hope you remember.. I am the guy who was considering a used Honda City..i dropped the idea after getting my hands on the vehicle since it did not meet expectations... But guess what.. I also came across a 2007 Honda Civic VMT which had just run 37k kms...the owner is pretty uptight about the price (400k INR) and is not negotiating alot but the car has run vry little and is in Mint Condition.. As good as it can get... Brand new tyres and the test ride was fantastic...what do you think mate!?!
Hi Sathish, nice to hear from you again! Of course I remember you :) I would definitely recommend the Honda Civic! It is a far superior car to the City- the engine is more powerful, it's slightly bigger, and it looks much nicer as well! Because the engine is larger (1.8 litre compared to the 1.5 litre engine in the Honda City), fuel economy will be slightly worse but still pretty good, you wouldn't be bankrupting yourself filling up the car hahaha. 37000km for a 10 year old car is really good, the owner probably barely used it and you can expect it to be in a great condition, as you have mentioned. Not too sure about the price, I guess just do your research about that. The car itself is good though :)
Kiwi CarTalk...Thank you for the reply.. I paid a small advance for the civic till i get time to go pick it up at which point i would pay up in full. But still..weighing in my options at this point..since it will be too late after the deal is closed.. On one hand it is luxurious, spacious, powerful, high end feel, legendary and stuf.. But on the other hand, i am worried about it's every day practical use on the F*$&-d up indian roads..since my riding would mostly be in the busiest part of the city with the odd long drive..issues like low ground clearance..low mileage..being a big boy, having issues parking it in nd out of tight squeezes..the other known issues with spares being expensive, power steering leakage and soft rear suspension and So on.. I have to say..i am not yet entirely convinced. What do you reckon mate ? Do share your thoughts..cheers !
Hi again Sathish, you are right, the Civic doesn't really have much ground clearance, but at the same time, neither does the Honda City! And yes, whenever I've come back to India on holiday I never really noticed many Honda Civics, so parts will probably be quite expensive because the car (from my observations at least) isn't that common. But apart from that, it is a really good car- it's decent sized but not too big, a decent sized engine but good fuel economy, and the interior is definitely something that I'd recommend. I would recommend the car overall, but in terms of use and whether it would be a practical choice, that's up to you :) Just think about where you go most of the time and whether that car would work in your daily routine.
Kiwi CarTalk..again thanks alot for your valuable inputs mate i really do appreciate it..
