I have an Archer A6 and a C5 router. I can dispose of one but not both. What would be the better setup for improving Wi-Fi coverage and performance: adding a wireless extender to my existing Archer A6 and C5 routers, or replacing the older C5 router with a new one while keeping the Archer A6? Please respond
Hi @KB1QYH, i'm using main router tplink AX73 & just bought new AX55,firstly i need to updates firmware, during this i need to set it as AP mode & using LAN cable to connect with main router,to access the internet.2ndly updates the firmware on the settings mode. Then, just follow as this video mention after complete firmware updates.Tried using LAN cable for wired backhaul but it wont work. Think that this auto settings ONLY supported wireless backhaul....maybe TP Link will updates their firmware later for manual selection mode of backhaul options..But still i'm quit statisfied with their product for now.
@@mohamadimranbinibrahim8405this won't work for me as the signal is too weak if I change it to AP mode it is then on 2 seperate networks which defeats the object and is not onemesh/easymesh
@@mohamadimranbinibrahim8405 so your AX55 is wirelessly connected to the AX73? Because I just buy AX55 and wanna connect it to my main router AX72 but I need connect it via lan cable, not sure if wifi will reach my point I need but I have cable there and I wanna use mesh system.
TP link needs a better video on this setup that includes Ethernet backhaul. I have two AX1800s, but I imagine most "EasyMesh" compatible devices work the same since it's in the TP Link firmware. Different models should also mix and match due to this, as long as they say "EasyMesh" and have updated firmware. First set up one as a "main" standalone router to connect to The Internet and then go into it's setting and force a firmware update. Next, shut off that one and repeat setting up each additional one as if it will be the "main" router so it connects to The Internet and force it's firmware update. Once all your devices have updated firmware, the "EasyMesh" feature kinda does what it says on the tin (I tried this without doing the firmware update and it didn't work, which is why it's easiest to just set each one up as a "main" router to update it's firmware then reset them later ). You set up and connect your "main" device while all the other ones are disconnected and powered off, use the web interface or phone app on the main device, find the "EasyMesh" settings (it's in advanced on the web interface), tell it to add a satellite, either connect the Ethernet cable to the 2nd device (LAN port to LAN port, not the WAN port) or use the WPS button on the main router and then power on and immediately factory reset the "satellite." After a couple minutes, the "satellite" should have reset and been found by the "main" device. Repeat for other extender/satellite devices. If you do all the initial setup with everything right next to each other, you should be able to set them all up and then unplug the "satellite" ones and move them to their new location throughout your house.
