    I feel like we’re spoiled with these movies. This isn’t fast and the furious. The John Wick films have BEAUTIFUL cinematography and UNMATCHED action choreography. The writing is great and I disagree with Andy and find Keanu’s acting legitimately good in this series because you believe every scene he’s in.
    Truly the best American action series of all time. Can’t wait for part 4!!

      @@mikekasabion I LOVE mission impossible! I always tell people the series starts with the third installment because I believe from there on they get really good. And as phenomenal as the bathroom fight in fallout is, I think John Wick is more consistent with hand to hand combat

    My first experience with this movie was the last showing of the second day of its theatrical run at the theater I worked at. A grown ass man came up to the concessions counter with the most shameful look in his eyes. He very quietly tells me, so only I can hear, "I threw up in the theater. I'm so sorry man. I ate some ice cream before I came and it just didn't agree with me. I'm so fucking sorry." I get the magic gel and follow him to a theater that is full as full can be and he walks in, head down tail between his legs, as I go to clean up the mess he made, which luckily was in the aisle. He kept apologizing and I reassured him as if he were a toddler, which he seemed to appreciate. I occasionally glanced at the screen while I was cleaning and it was the hotel siege. This was my first ever experience with this franchise and I was instantly hooked. I came back on my off day and watched it and then months later I bought all the movies. Had that guy not threw up that night I wouldn't be here watching this movie, let alone being a massive fan of this franchise. Also I'm glad I watched this one first because it made the first two better.

    I have so much to say about this masterpiece of a film!
    I watched this on release day in the evening with a fully packed cinema and everyone was READY! The knife fight sequence had everyone gasping and cheering and it felt so surreal being in a place where everyone just wanted to see John Wick be fucking John Wick!
    This movie is so beautiful choreographed and is the reason their should be awards for stunts cause omg! The knife fight scene is made with such craft, not a second wasted with a shot were we can actually see what is happening! I rewatch that scene at least Twice every time I see this film!
    JOHN WICK ON A HORSE....WHATTT
    Then we have the kickass scene with Halle Berry which is just art!
    I LOVE THIS FILM

The 3rd has Zero who is great, some of the best action scenes in the series and really sets up John’s fight against the whole system.

    I remember sitting in the cinema watching this, early weekday afternoon, so only about 20 of us, pre Covid. That first say 30 minutes had so many of us going "Oh, Damn, f*ck" etc, flinching and recoiling at the sheer brutality....basically we all came together and appreciated the spectacular violence and inventive brutality.
    The only bad thing is that it was such a spectacular and relentless opening, the rest of the film was a bit downhill from there on wards.
    PS, 1 is still my fave, it's a complete film that can be watched just on it's own, and was so "new".

    I think John Wick 3 will be better defined by the films coming after it, the expectation of “where is this franchise going?” hurt the film for me on first watch. Rewatching it is a much better experience.
    Realistically they need to either do something very special in the next 2 films or end it within those films (I think I’d prefer the latter).

    Here's a weird thought, if John Wick was wearing a bulletproof suit, and bulletproof material is designed to absorb impacts, then would that absorb the impact of his fall?

    • @MelodicQuest
      @MelodicQuest 3 года назад

      Bulletproof material, even if you made a whole suit of armor out of it, wouldn't protect you from a bad fall.
      True, that the suit would absorb most of the impact, but hard falls hurt because your body is accelerating at a high speed and stops suddenly when you hit the ground. Your insides can't take too much and get knocked around. You'd still suffer brain damage or internal bleeding.

    • @HypeVectorPrime
      @HypeVectorPrime 3 года назад

      @@MelodicQuest yes, but the question isn't whether or not one could survive the impact of the landing, but rather if the suit could absorb the blows he takes bouncing off of things thereby preventing his bones from being crushed.
      I figure he bounced off a bunch of shit on the way down and that slowed him enough to survive the landing, but he would have had to not break too much of his body in order to have escaped.

    I mean they are action movies, but the first one had a decent plot--it was just over the top. This plot of borderline incoherent. Dog fight scenes go on too long (not enough variety). Most fight scenes go on a bit too long. I think the ranking is 1, 2, 3. I also did not really like Zero that much. I felt like they made him a little too goofy--especially with that bizarre resurrection thing at the end. Movie is good, but I do not think it's in the same league as 1 & 2. I hope with 4 they try and simplify things a bit--if that is even possible at this point.
