That one structure looks like a drive on concrete 'lift' for vehicles to be serviced. Small ramps at the start, bump stops at the end. About wheel width spacing and high enough off the ground to get under it with ease. At least that is what it looked like to me.
I was just getting ready to say that. It is an oil changing area. There is one very similar to it in a small Oklahoma community near me. I will bet the forest service used it for the vehicles used to get the fire tower look outs up there.
Wish I'd have seen your comment before I typed my long-winded comment that pretty much says the same thing.
Had I seen it first, I'd have given you a thumbs-up, and moved on. haha
I was gonna say the same. Seems odd without knowing more history on it.
You are so lucky to live somewhere so close to areas like that. Thanks for taking us along for the ride cause it was gorgeous.
Keep falling in love everytime i see that truck i swear
Beautiful!!! We definitely want to get out in that neck of the woods one day! ❤️🐞
Love when you do these solo, quiet trips. Nice. 👍
trying to chew them big ass tires while theyre rotating around 😂🤪 good luck with that one puppy
Nice video. I am sure those are the same dogs that feasted on my trasharoo a year ago.. thanks for sharing your FREE day.
Lmao the dog bit the tire
Thanks for the ride along
I am so glad you didn't stay home and take a nap today! This is one of my favorite ways to spend a day when I don't have responsibilities and can get away. Thanks for a great video in a beautiful place. I am always amazed at the beauty I see in this place that we live.
I’ll
First! I love the Ozarks, it's been years since I was last there.
Me too .. I went to Devils Den State park many times as a kid .. and my Dad retired and lived on Asia Point off of scenic 7 close to Jasper for about 12 years
So that "structure" at 14:24 looks to me, like something you could service vehicle on. Like what most would call a "pit", where the vehicle could drive onto, then from underneath, you could change fluids and do basic maintenance without the hassle of having to jack up the car/truck. It's quick, easy, and safer and much cheaper than "lifts/racks" or hand lifting a vehicle. The raised center beam would keep you from going off center and fall off the sides. The tall "block" at the end keeps you from fall off the end. There are walkways on the sides you can walk across while the vehicle is being serviced, that you can still access the doors. There's even a staircase to walk down to the "basement" to get under the vehicle. At least, that's what I see. It's the quick lube area for forest service trucks. A metal detector in the area might yield some random 'car parts'. Just a guess?
I think the same thing. My grandfather used to own a construction company in NH and he built something very similar. I once used it to replace the alternator on my 1993 Nissan 300zx. Very convenient, especially if you have a lot of large machinery!
@@MountTinMan Now that I think about it, back then it was acceptable to toss old oil back into the ground. So I'm sure that hillside has drank its fair share of Penzoil.
4:16 Those dogs did the same darn thing to us when we drove through there last summer. My son asked "did he just bite our tire?" 😂
They always do that. That guy has a bunch of dogs. Tall ones.
That was a great video of some beautiful land! And those dogs always do their job well out there…
Heading up to the mountains Saturday for some dirt therapy. Safe travels.
It's content like this that inflame's that itch to hit the back roads and trails. Thanks Matt.
This until now my favourite of your videos. Nice landscape and cool drone pictures from the tower.😜🤘🤩
Really enjoyed this video as we have been on some of these trails. Nice to be able to see ones we have done before. Looking forward to the Coldwater video! Looks like you will have great weather!!
Yeah white tail deer we saw awesome
Wow what a beautiful place, appreciate you letting us tag along. I do this but with RC remote control 1/10 scale trucks we have a blast
We passed the house with all the dogs a couple of weeks ago. There must be 20 there at least. Interesting to see in the middle of the woods.
The first time I went that way I was in my TJ no doors and one of the dogs really wanted to ride along lol
Of all those dogs. Only one was friendly. Came right up to our Jeep. The others just acted like they wanted to rip the tires off
I love the view from Devils Knob, I stop there to air up/down when I explore that area.
Wow beautiful scenery, great shots from the drone
Wow that’s RC heaven to us, looks like a obstacle course for R 1/10 scale trucks super cool
wow amazing
Great photography, great music, great trails. Nice Ferris Bueller's day off LOL!
It’s this right here that brought me from Texas to Arkansas this weekend thanks for the videos
Awesome, and very lucky
I wondered where that trail went. I agree it looks like a nice scenic route.
Thanks for this, bored out of my brain today, this helped!!!!!
You're welcome!!
Awesome video brother. I got to go up in that tower years ago before the fence. It's pretty scary lol.
I think that dog bit your tire!!! Awesome vid as usual keep them coming!!!!
I have camped at that fire tower I thought the structure was for servicing vehicles maybe
It was the living quarters
Nice vid:)
It is a oil changing station. you missed the old cattle dip and the old store down on 5550, I have seen you around several times. If our paths cross down in that area I can show them to you, Nice video
This channel is Overlanding gold....We need to pump up those sub numbers!!
YES!! thanks!
Those are the trails I absolutely love! Sand and rock crawling, meh. Thanks for the video, now I need to make the time to hit some trails soon.
Really cool, I bet going here in the summer would be awesome. I think you're close to West Plains? Not sure our Renegade would make it thru some of those roads but, it looks like my 2500hd would 😏
The county roads overlaid with forest roads gets confusing. Found a few FS roads that end on the mvum but continues as it’s also a county rd.
Can you do a video on your axillary batter system and show your dc to dc charger or how you charge the batteries
Gladiator dog attack at 4:15 !
LOL. That dog was actually super nice to me when I was outside the Jeep launching the drone.
They have an exact replica of your jeep in 1/10 scale Remote control
Awesome!
Subs are growing...Cool spots for sure...what's the link for that diesel heater you were using a couple vids back?
In my mind I kept thinking, “what’s wrong with video games?” 😂
Hi from 🇦🇪
A buddy and I are planning on going to NM end of the month but the fires are still crazy and we might have to call an audible. We were thinking about coming up to Broken Bow and then on to the Ozarks. Would be up there 4 days. Would you recommend this area end of May/start of June or is it just brutally hot and humid? We are also hoping to get some good fishing in kind of along the trails as we go - are there decent spots along the rivers to cast?
Do they charge to camp at the expo? If so how much is it? I couldn't find anything on the website except for camp grounds. I have never been and hope to go this year.
Hi Matt! Have you had any issues with cold weather charging your lithium batteries?
What is the best source of maps for these trails? We are planning a trip to that area this spring.
the motor vehicle use maps from the forest service.
For someone who has never wheeled in Arkansas, would you recommend the Ozarks over Ouachita National Forest? I am planning a trip up from Houston, TX in a few months.
It just depends on your skill level and what you’re wanting. Ozarks are more rugged tight trails with lots of water crossings and deep mud. Ouachitas are mostly wide graded roads with nice views.
Are you in Missouri or Arkansas? I need to come find that road!
I think I just experienced a few seconds of Inception... I watched on RUclips, a RUclipsr watching a RUclipsr. #venture4wd ;-)
How did you go back to get your camera with all the dogs?
It was a drone. But the dogs were actually very friendly when I was out launching the drone. the one that bit my tire came up to me and was super friendly. lol
Matt do you know of an offroad recovery company in the Ozarks?
I do not. Sorry.
Nice seats are these factory leather or custom?
Factory option.
Has anyone done this in a Subaru
I’ve got a private trail over 480 acres. And YOUR invited. Let me know
I don't know why but most of the stuff shown in this video makes me think of fallout 76 for some odd reason...
Hair is terrible xD xD
😂😂😂
