Eric "D.J. Fila" Burks, 28, of Memphis, construction worker and disc jockey, died Saturday in Memphis of an apparent hom*icide. Suspect charged in shoting death of deejay in Raleigh Police have charged a man in Saturday's shooting death of a deejay at the After Dark bar in the Raleigh area. Kewan Jackson, 25, was charged with reckless hom*icide in the death of Eric Burks. Burks, 27, was the deejay at a private party at After Dark Bar and Grill, 3347 Austin Peay, when he was hit by gunfire during a fight, said Lt. Walter Norris with the Memphis Police Department homi*cide division. Norris said Jackson pulled out a pis*tol during a fight with another man. As the two men struggled with the pi*stol it discharged, hitting Burks, who was in the deejay booth, in the chest. He died at the scene. During the fight, Jackson was shot in the arm, and the other man was shot in the abdomen. Norris said the other suspect, who has not been charged in the incident, remains in critical condition at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. The men fighting were Womack and The K.E. from what I've understood, the latter featured on this tape on the song "Got To Be Me" and a couple others.
