बाजपेई जी नेहरू, इंदिरा और मोरारजी देसाई की ही तरह एक घटिया प्रधानमंत्री थे। पाकिस्तान जब कारगिल क षड्यंत्र रच रहा था,ये लाहौर बस यात्रा का सस्ता नशा ले रहे थे।जब सेना ने उन्हें कारगिल में पाकिस्तानी घुसपैठ और सैनिक अड्डे के निर्माण की सूचना दी तो उन्होंने मानने से इंकार कर दिया था। उन्हें अपनी सेना से कहीं अधिक नवाज़ शरीफ़ के आश्वासन पर भरोसा था।कई बार जांच कर, अपने जांबाजों को पाकिस्तानियों के हाथों मरवा कर उन्हें पाकिस्तानी षडयंत्र पर विश्वास हुआ था। पाकिस्तानी सेना भारतीय भूभाग पर आकर सैनिक अड्डा बना चुकी थी लेकिन इस पर भी बाजपेई ने न तो भारतीय सेना को पाकिस्तानी क्षेत्र में घुस कर सप्लाई लाइन बंद करने की छूट दी थी और न वायु सेना इस्तेमाल करने की इजाजत दी थी।उपर ऊंचाई पर बैठे दुश्मनों के आगे सब जीरो तापमान में बर्फीली खड़ी चढाई वाले पहाड़ों पर अपनी सेना को झोंक दिया था जिसके कारण बड़ी संख्या में भारतीय सैनिकों की शहादत हमें देखनी पड़ी थी। हमारे पास बोफोर्स तोपें थीं लेकिन उन्हें पहाड़ों तक ले जाने के न तो रास्ते थे और न गोले। बोफोर्स देने वाले स्वीडन ने तो गोले देने से इंकार कर ही दिया था, हमारे परम मित्र रूस ने भी अंगूठा ही दिखा दिया था। फिर अपना जीपीएस सिस्टम नहीं होने के कारण और बाजपेई जी की वायुसेना इस्तेमाल नहीं करने की जिद्द के कारण समारी सुरक्षा सेनाओं को शत्रु का न तो सही ठिकाना पता था और न उसकी सही ताक़त। ऐसे में हमारा असली मित्र इस्राइल ही काम आया था।
बड़ी संख्या में अपने सैनिक गंवाने के बाद आखिरकार वायुसेना का इस्तेमाल करना पड़ा था।
इतना उकसावा भारतीय सैनिकों को पाकिस्तान के अंदर घुस कर मारने और पाकिस्तानी भूभाग पर कब्जा करने का तर्कसंगत बहाना था।कमी थी तो नेतृत्व में।
हमारी सेना ने अपना लहू बहा कर हमेशा देश के मान की रक्षा की है जबकि राजनेताओं ने हमेशा अपनी कायरता से देश का अपमान किया।
सौभाग्य से हम पहली बार एक बहादुर प्रधानमंत्री की छत्रछाया में देश की आन-बान और शान बढ़ती देख रहे हैं।

What a General Musharraf was ! Without proper planning how he dared to capture Kargil heights in the absence of Indian army as per agreement between both countries that in winter both armies would go back to peace areas. Without any air support Musharraf got killed his own soldiers.
Inspite of such horrible defeat in kargil, that country didn't learn any lesson. Now also they support and encourage terrorists. So it's nothing but digging your own grave. That's good for that country.
