I only discovered you yesterday and I can't believe how much each reading I've watched has resonated. I'm a Nanny, but do dog walking/pet sitting in my spare time and I've often wondered if I might meet a nice guy that way. Sliding Doors is an excellent movie, and one I reference quite a lot. I am just coming out of Hermit and healing mode, but my focus is still on rebuilding; charting a new course forward. I know what my path is, it's just finding the stable foundation to build it on. Call it finding my feet after the rug was well and truly pulled from beneath them. I believe they call it betrayal trauma.
I don't think my body can handle another pregnancy, but I did just step back from someone with 2 beautiful little boys. Not becuase I don't want the kids; I just can't commit and bond with them right now. I need to clear a space so there is no distraction if and when I do move forward; I did however commit to a new fur baby, and now have 2.

Just started watching and have a social occasion with my TFs family who were interfering but both gave me massive hugs when I saw them a couple of weeks ago and had warned her sister that they will have to support Karen due to our journey and feel the intuition she’ll be there. Kids dont always work out nicely. I am broken up with my partner because his teenage kids totally hate me. They have never actually met me. They have causes many problems and made him feel like a terrible dad and made him feel so guilty for loving me. He is torn in two and we are so unhappy separated.

Nah, eventually I'll get tired of all the nonsense and go find one that isn't an egotistical nightmare. It's usually more up to me than it is to them.
I was already a step parent for three kids- If they can't give me my own because they want to focus on some other guy's spawn, I already know where that goes, and I'm not interested- I had to pay for everything, but wasn't allowed to have a say in things like their medical care until after a lot of damage was done despite my objections, and now the kids I raised are all fucked up from over-vaccination, taking meth for "ADHD" since grade school, and antidepressants- some of that makes sense for adults, but you can't just mess with a kid's brain while it's developing because you want them to act like a 30-year-old accountant or something. Pets are fine, I have a big yard. If it's a new person, it could still be the maid- we have fun together, but she's dealing with the end of a long-term relationship herself, so she's a little skittish and it's not heading forward very fast, but that's ok. I work from home, and she's the only one that comes here, so...
I *did* make a list of what I am and am not looking for in a partner, and have it posted on my fridge- I'm pretty sure she read it... I mean, psychedelics, ice cream, home cooking and magic were in the "want" category, and she brought me some acid, so we went on a little trip and sat and talked about magic after going out fishing in the park with my dogs and getting some ice cream at the new ice cream place in town. She also picks the berries in my yard and made me homemade jam (and some excellent cookies the last time she was here as well.)
You're wrong about having to leave my house, though- she literally delivered herself to my door because I hired her and I work from home... I didn't hire her directly, I had someone who has known me and knew my wife for a long time do it so she could play matchmaker for me if she was so inclined- truthfully, she's not a very good maid- but I suspect she'd make a great wife... sometimes I get lucky like that. A little closer to my own age, but still young enough to have a couple of kids, and it's not like I need a whole baseball team to work the family farm with a team of mules- one or two would be fine.
