I really didn't think i could like Alexander McQueen after Mr. McQueen died, but this has changed my mind for sure! this was great i absolutely loved it!
Sarah Burton is such a tactician! She's taken the McQueen template and femenized it. I am very impressed by the level of precision executed in the clothing. Also, she has a very well refiened editing eye. Any of those pieces could have easily gone overboard but her ideas we so cohesive, the pieces couldn't have survied without each individual idea placed in them. Very good show, probably my favorite of this season.
The fashion world is definitely not the same without Lee Alexander McQueen. Miss him so much. With that said, Sarah Burton is doing an absolutely amazing job carrying the brand in true McQueen spirit. It'll be very exciting to see how the brand evolves.
@ferre77 Both Chanel and Dior have key looks what are seen EVERY single season. The very thing about McQueen was how different he was, his work was contantly evolving every collection with a new focus point. Yes he had a silhouette but his ideas were so different. Nothing was 'A McQueen' until Lee had made it. Unlike a tweed Chanel suit or a nipped waist Dior dress. McQueen was art, the art of Lee Alexander McQueen. Money rules. Fact.
@Sweetthang9 I don't think anyone wanted the McQueen line to die with Lee. I love the line that Burton has come out with. I am wowed by every piece, it's right up my alley. But I wouldn't trade Alexander Lee's designs for anything. Without a doubt his fashion have been the only ones to reallyyy make me think OUTSIDE the box and sit back and say wow...it's ugly...but it's the most gorgeous cut ever. No one can do fashion like Alexander! :D It's not always practical, but it's always art.
@ferre77 I respect your opinion. Whatever you or I think, There is a video on here of Lee himself saying that when a designer dies so should their house.
If it is possible to utter this without intense backlash, I actually prefer Sarah's take on the brand. With her at the helm of the house, the clothes become far more wearable. Fashion, to me, is about a clear balance of art and practicality, and when it reaches too far in either direction, it loses what makes it a distinct entity. Sarah has more than exceeded my expectations, and I hope she continues to take the house in a new and refreshing direction. After all, if every house died with its creator, we wouldn't have Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Versace, Nina Ricci, Vionnet, Prada, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Hermès, etc.
do u think sarah iz doing wit da house of mcqueen wut donetella did wit da versace label...givin a feminine touch 2 da house yet keepn tru 2 da spirit of da designer?
Designers die, other designers/creative directors take over the house, the house changes. Get over it people, if you love McQueen watch his past collections they will never get to old thats what i do. "Sarah should get her own label though."
sometimes mcqueen made me a bit scared of the models. i think sarah took some of that darkness in the clothes and the models but with a touch of lightness. it really is like a fairy tail and she's done that with all the pressure what she was under. i think he would like that. oh and the hairstyle was absolutely brilliant!
@brianb3000 I was born in an artistic family and i believe and know i was born with it, i just need a title that complements my natural talent. Ive been making clothes since i was younger
@fuckyou1458 Dior doesn't "Always" stick to key looks. There are collections where Galliano didn't use them at all. Every house has it's "Key Looks" or "Codes". Mcqueen has always been beautiful & grotesque. For example towards the end he did lot's of mirror image prints. They took that and did their version of it. My point is whatever new designer takes over they use the namesakes codes and reinterpret them through the years. Hence the reason most houses are able to continue.
Dont get me wrong its a beautiful collection but as for ''I felt that mcqueen was still alive'' I dont think so!!! As much as she was with him throughout, its not his vision. I personally think Sarah should of focused more on her own line because she is obviously more than capable. As in an interview I have seen of Lee he and my thoughts are that when a designer dies, so should the house.
definitely not the same as mcqueen himself. this felt a bit calculated and forced. that being said, sarah is her own person, and this collection stands on its own 2 legs, without the help of the mcqueen name.
Omg I lovee it. Long live Mcqueen! One day ill design the way he did. Im studing fashion design and im rally excited. Go to my channel, watch my video, comment, critics whatever, it will all be welcomed. Im on my first year so bare with me hahah!

Amazing ! She designed all those masterpieces and came out with jeans and blouse !
I absolutely agree with Mr. Walker. I am highly pleased that this House did not come to an end with McQueen's death.
Long live McQueen!
