I feel like it really shouldn't be able to counter huge units like fortress and factory so effortlessly even without acid, alongside the fact that it struggles against chaff despite being meant to be an anti swarm unit. Feel like they should tone back the damage and increase the aoe a bit more. So it's still focused at base at dealing with swarms, and you can still counter big units as long as you spend the resources to tech into it with like acid and double shot.
Regardless, it's a super cool unit, though def overtuned lmao

I havent seen it win a single game including 1 game I used it. The counter is to just swarm it with crawlers and balls, get balls with crawler death tech and it just get stuck on chaff while whatever your ranged dps is goes to town along with balls. None of the games were even close and the decision to make the scorpions was always a mistake.
That being said ive largely been playing very offensive aggro lately or playing games where im set up on the enemy front line so I can get to their towers. I think if its the type of game where both players are kinda trying to siege at each other and play the long game then yeah maybe scorpions are okay.
5/5 games players tried to use them today they lost, including me.

@@krel3358 I watched sacco's stream today and there were a good chunk of matches where it won. And that stream shows how it just utterly melts big units like fortresses and war factories when you have acid. Literally 2 shots them, which is even crazier if you run it with double shot.
Something that's meant to counter midrange swarm units like balls and sledgies shouldn't be able to so easily handle the tankiest units in the game, and struggle with chaff. It's meant to be a swarm counter but it's current state it's better as a titan killer that doesn't struggle with those mid range units.

Yeah I definitely need more time to play against it to form a more concrete opinion but first day impressions make me think this unit may be a little over tuned since not only does it own balls/sledges but it owns giants as well, even war factory. I think it has to do with the acid delivery system, for example, you can 2 shot a fortress since the first shot hits for 13k and the second shot, which has the acid multiplier, hits for 34k. Also, I actually think it could be good with aggro. A big threat to a mustang push is usually vulcans and my normal answer would be storms/birds until I can afford a melting point. Now I can just plop down an acid scorpion and deal with it pretty effectively. On top of that, mustangs love stat multipliers, so it can be insane dps potentially.

n_sacco, I had an idea for a new starter specialist but I'm not sure if it's balanced or not. Stats are "Promotion Specialist: Every time you level a unit you get 50 credits, but every unit costs an additional 100 to unlock"

I would imagine that to be broken since you will make way more money leveling than the cost of unlocking new units.

I don't know what other players do tbh but I prefer to play a long-term econ focused game. I don't really like to click the mass recruit button unless I really need to early game and I also like to see what my opponent is doing so that I can invest my resources more efficiently. I usually always make sure to at least get my 2 deployments down per turn.
