Your a joy to watch building too. There's many skilled woodworkers on RUclips but I can't think of another where you can feel the joy they have so much in their own work. It's great to watch.
BEAUTIFUL!! Love, love the grain of hickory. It is pretty expensive here in CT. But I want to make my kitchen cabinets out of it. I think I loved both the project and watching your joy at each accomplishment. It is really great to see you build a piece of furniture again.
Good morning, April! Thanks for sharing ANOTHER great project with us. It's both beautiful and functional and would be a wonderful complimentary piece to any home. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us. Have a great week. God bless.
Another amazing project....you are amazing! love the "success dance". Again, another beautiful masterpiece by April! We all can't wait to see what you build and create next! Thanks for your amazing videos!
Beautiful job…Love this!! That marine spar varnish is the best. I built an 8’x6’ cedar tiki bar complete with thatch roof for the backyard and did 4 coats of the spar varnish. 8 years of being outside and it still looks like new. Wish I could share a picture…you’d love it. This could be my next project. Thanks for sharing!!!
Your joy displayed with your successes had me smiling throughout the entire video. Those doors are fabulous and your completed cabinet is marvelous. Great, great, great.🤗🤗🤗
Great build! Love the clean look of it. If I ever end up building a bar like this I would probably include some kind of a rail for the hidden bottles as I would probably nock bottles over with out one. I would also use hidden hinges in part because I hate the look of hinges. Then I would probably have it so that the switch to raise the shelf is based on the arrangement of items on the top surface using either some reed switches or RFID tags because I like the idea of a secret combo to get to the bottles.
Proving the old adage What's Old is New Again. My Late Great Aunt and Uncle had door catches like those on their 1940's house trailer. I miss them Very much. They were always a hoot to be around.
Finally after a long day wait we got your awesome video, loved this one so so so much April. And one important thing April your fingers are so so beautiful and the golden ring on the left hand finger looks so so so sweet, love your style.😊 In each and every way you are perfect and beautiful April. God's blessings be upon you all, stay safe dear.🤗
This is an awesome project April...looks fantastic! Thank you for sharing this build...and the tips about using gloss to build it up before the satin/matte finish.
It's stunning... You are so talented April, I wish I still lived near the area where you opened up shop... I would have loved the opportunity to visit your shop and meet you...
You're a talented woman. :) Beautiful idea. I had something with a flatscreen in mind for a couple of actuators I've sitting. Now I have a new idea thanks to you.
Very nicely done April. It is somewhat similar in layout to a bar I am making using a very old upright piano as the cabinet ( before anyone gets upset, the piano had been the victim of rats and was well beyond viable repair as a piano). The raising section will reveal the spirits with nip dispensers and a post chill for beer and premixed Bundy rum, with mini-kegs and the chiller unit mounted in the lower section. The project has been on the back shelf for a while, but now I feel inspired to get back into it. While the outer skin is there, I still have a lot of custom work to do internally. Thanks for sharing your personal creation.
Hello April ..... Looks warm and elegant. The only input I would have suggested would have been to use a hydraulic hinge for the drop door so that it can't slip through your fingers and slam down while raising or lowering it. So nice to see a piece of furniture made of nice solid wood. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It turned out gorgeous, Hickory doesn’t get enough attention so thank you for using it! It’s one of my favorites, look at the grain striations👌🏼I like the lift and appreciate the joinery
Absolutely love this build, excellent work! To stay with the stealth theme I would go with hidden hinges for the doors but nonetheless I Absolutely love this build. Thank you for sharing your craft with us!
What a beautiful bar cabinet! I recently purchased your plans for my on build. In the plans you state that there are two 1/4" x 1 1/2" dowels used and to drill/dry fit them prior to assembly. As I watch your video, I can see where some of the dowel holes go but not all. Would it be possible to send an additional plan detailing all the dowel hole locations?
This a nice looking piece I like the idea of having the TV slide up and down besides just using it as a bar how would you feed the plans to also work with a fireplace and I don’t mean gas I mean electric ?
Beautiful build! I like how the lift makes cabinet more practical as you don't have too deep cabinet meaning the bottles in the back would be harder to reach. Great solution! That continuous grain in front is on 🔥🔥🔥
April, that was a lot of fun watching you build this project. I don't know if I want to tackle a project like this right now but if I do I'll sure be getting the plans from you. I bought your plans for the workbench as seen in this video. I consider it one of the best decisions I've ever made. Thanks for Sharing!
Love what you’ve done here! I would have thought to use hidden hinges instead of the ones you used. Was there something in the project limiting you from using the hidden hinges , especially on the front panel where you show cased the wood grain? Thanks
This is amazing!!! The creativity design and different use for the lift was genius. You are an inspiration and motivator to do something great. I love your videos, keep them coming!
Two simple questions if you don't mind. #1 at 10:05 you said it was a simple fix to stop the "rubbing" in your test. What was the simple fix? Did you just sand down the side that was rubbing? Or did you reposition the hardware in some way? #2 at 15:24 you had to adjust the "hungry hippo" out a little bit so the doors closed flush. The thing that always trips me up when I do that is the screw hole! You have to re-screw the hippo in just a tiny bit but how did you stop the screw from just going into the old hole? Did you fill it in before adjusting? I'm definitely not as experienced as you and it's always these little details that trip me up at the end.
Working with workstation lift systems and modular aluminum framing, that movement test for the lift system was stressful l. Glad it basically worked 100% first try Love that you geeked out when things were were going fantastically
Nice video. This is a interesting idea. The bar is great. But I'm thinking this would be a great entertainment center with the TV hidden when not in use. Easily make bigger for a even larger TV. Very nice.
@@AprilWilkerson your welcome. I apologize for missing that you mentioned you could hide a TV. I'll watch for that when I re watch it. Have a great day.
Love it. Always looking forward to seeing more of your videos. I’ve got that same Craftsman drill and driver, but I don’t like the triggers on them. They are weird to explain.
This turned out so cool April!! It looks like you had fun with it, and the finish is beautiful!! I’ve used Total Boat Halcyon before, but not Gleam. I’ll have to try it out some time. Thank you for sharing!
Love this build. Outbof interest what happened to all your triton tools? I see red and yellow battery tools being used now, did the triton stuff not last?
