Clapton's version at the Cream Reunion Concert at Royal Albert Hall isn't too shabby either. It even had Brian May smiling in the audience. For Clapton this one that everyone knows and loves. Was just another night of improvised guitar virtuosity for him.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have loved this cut for years and never thought I'd ever be able to start playing it. I, for better or worse am a "mature", 70, beginning guitar player. This break down helped me so much I can't even begin to tell you. Your method is right up my beginning ally. Learn the basic frame work, understand it, then add the little parts to fill the whole cut in. I can't believe the sounds I hear while playing are really coming from me! Be well and safe peace to you and yours.
This tune has had me stuck for years. So thankful you are showing it and it makes so much sense now. Looking forward to the solo video although I doubt he played it the same twice.
Hi Justin - Thanks 👍 What a super tutorial, mate. Another great gem for us. I've been a Cream/EC fan, ever since I got hold of the "Wheels Of Fire" album back in the late sixties and wrote the "Clapton Is God" graffiti absolutely everywhere😮! This tune is a Must learn for all blues lovers and I'm sure a lot of us have tried to nail it, our own way, over the decades. ☮️❤️🎸
You are awesome. Please play that D7 with your thumb making the F# and you'll be a rock star! Appreciate your videos very, very much. Please don't stop!!!
Haven't checked out a Justin guitar lesson in awhile....when did he start doing tabs on the screen? Anyhow, awesome. I'm on a bit of Cream/Clapton kick here lately. Glad to see this video...

Great version, Justin! Personally, I play it around the fifth fret, because of the tone on the recording, although I have seen numerous videos of Eric playing it, and you have it correctly, of course! But ... I just don't like the sound of it there!

@ffoxtrot0 So then, I guess, "While my guitars gently weeps" must be by Prince. You know, snce his rff in the 2021 tribute to George Harrison was completely different than the original.
Likely because there’s no bass, the bass is extremely underrated in songs while not always noticeable it’s always greatly affecting the sound and makes it sound fuller, so it would make sense it doesn’t sound exactly right.

Nicely done Juz! Always loved this 1!
The cream live crossroads is one of the best of all time. It's incredible. And that is a understatement.

Great lesson Justin! Any chance you could do a Little Feat lesson for “Down On The Farm”? Thanks in advance if you decide to do it.

I'm hearing and seeing you play an E with a bend on the 4th String in the opening Riff?
What effects have you used there Justin? Sounds overdriven.
Hey Justin could u do a guitar lesson on the song No Name #3 by Elliott Smith?? Thank you!!

He’s done this before -years ago (without the gravelly vocal)
Hey Justin how come Eric Clapton always looks like he's flipping the bird when playing cords?
I had the same thought 😂😂😂
Is there any way you could do gagging order by radiohead

@JustinGuitarSongs - i dont follow you when you say he plays the D7 2X. Where? I onl yhear him playing it once in the intro
any chance of getting some hints on the amp settings
I prefer Clapton’s solo concert version
a song you should do Rory Gallagher shine kicker
4:15 I know what was in your mind.
Honestly, I love the mayer version much more modern, better tone
Stop
Not by Eric Clapton, by Robert Johnson, 1936.
This version is by EC and its riff doesn’t have much in common with the original
@ffoxtrot0 So then, I guess, "While my guitars gently weeps" must be by Prince. You know, snce his rff in the 2021 tribute to George Harrison was completely different than the original.
Great playing ... the tone is a bit too bright relative to the live Cream version.
Doesn't sound right to me? None of these type of videos do. What's missing?
Likely because there’s no bass, the bass is extremely underrated in songs while not always noticeable it’s always greatly affecting the sound and makes it sound fuller, so it would make sense it doesn’t sound exactly right.
Original sounds very tired and dated now at the risk of being unpopular!
Just learn a real blues player riffs instead of learning Claptons stolen catalog
🤜👌🍻
