Meg, you are an inspiration for all Mothers out there. With all you do in kitchen , you still maintain calm with little Buggy. Its nice to see a video about you. Take care and keep well. Im a 75 year old grama who enjoys living vicariously the homestead life even if I can not do it now. Lol. Bless you all.
We all have, but so thrilled to see Buggy thriving and loving life after her whatever it was (colic?) made your lives a little more constrained. I could see the ton of love, from the boys too, going into helping her.
Meg you had a full day canning, cooking, and taking care of your family including a baby. I lift my hat to you dear you are one in a million. You're exceptional roll model for young women. Blessings my sister.
I love how you don't let anything go to waste from your garden!! So many young women don't want to can food, much less know how to do it!! I always helped my mom, so by the time I was married and on my own, I knew how to operate a pressure canner and did what you're doing. For years it seemed like a lost art until in recent years young homesteader families are learning how to grow gardens and preserve it!!! When I was a little girl back in the 50s, I watched my Mamaw can veggies and fruit over an outside fire in a big washtube filled with water. Took almost all day, but one big tube held 21 quart jars at a time. She was even using the blue mason jars with rubber rings and zinc lids back then. I sure am proud of you and the other young women for keeping this tradition alive!!!!!👏👏👏❤ P.S. Ben, if you and the boys decide to make wooden spoons to sell, I definitely want on the list to buy one!!!!!!!!!!!! I love good wooden spoons.
Thank you for posting this video! I was a person who did canning, but just had open heart surgery and I'm not allowed to can or cook for some time Do I SO ENJOY your cooking/canning ones Makes me happy. Thanks again
My husband had a quadruple bypass a few years ago. You really need to rest and let your body heal after they crack you open. Take the time to take care of yourself. I have never canned but I love watching this young couple and their family. Hope for the future. Take care, peace
I'm tired just watching you Meg! I grew up in a family of 5 kids, we had an acre garden EVERY year, so I know how much work preserving food is, but it's worth it!
There is nothing any prettier than sitting back & looking at the rows of food that a person has "put up" for their family for the winter. That gives a person a sense of pride to see all the "jewels" lined up on a self.
Fabulous video, fabulous mom/chef !! Pooped just watching you work those peppers and sauses ! Smell - O- vision needed ! Lost time and socks alert !I Funny. !! 😂😂💗💗💗💗 Love you clever family !!🙏
I appreciate you demonstrating what to do with fresh produce. Im hard on myself thinking I didn't get things done quick enough. My new motto is "just do it"
I think back to the state of that home when you first arrived on the property. Then to see it now, a home full of love and productivity. Quite and amazing journey. Keep on living your best lives. :)
Meg, you’re such a beautiful soul! My heart was smiling as I was watching. Preparing and canning is such work and add in a child, well I can’t imagine. You are simply an amazing young woman. Such an inspiration! ❤️
OMG..almost missed that Bugster and her one little blinking sleepy eye...too much! Becky has been prepping too. Have a great time y'all. Love from Ireland.💚
Canning is hard work!!! But when the cold wind blows, those jars of food are a treasure to go to pantry and use because you know exactly what went into making them and exactly what is inside them. Nothing is better tasting, so fresh, delicious and healthy. ❤️
Meg, you are absolutely amazing....I don't think I ever had that much energy, even in my younger years. God Bless you dear lady. I love seeing your boys all getting involved in so many aspects of farm life, trades like the spoons, and other building skills, food prep and gardening skills. Just a great family all around. You and Ben are marvelous teachers. Y'all have a Blessed day.
I'm so happy that you have been posting more often. I've missed all of you on a regular basis. Nice to see buggy growing up so quickly. Next year she'll be helping you plant the garden.
Awesome video! I can't imagine what it's like to run a camera while preserving, especially with multiple recipes! Geesh i'm overwhelmed thinking about it 🤯❤️
Just so u know, I really respect and appreciate how u guys never annoyingly push for the subscribing, sharing, and thumbs up, and because of that I always share and give u a thumbs up. Besides that, it's obvious ur good people, and that's very appreciable in it self. And p.s. ain't the vita mix awesome, I have one also. Great job with home and kids. 👍
More, more, more. I like the "watch me" way to learn to can with simple explainations. When how to videos get to wordy I'm always afraid I've missed a point. Thank you!!
You’re doing great, Meg! Your family is so blessed to have a wife and mother who is so capable of putting up so much food for them for winter. You and Ben always amaze me with your knowledge and work ethic.
Thanks Meg. Personally, I miss seeing more of you on the videos. During your great adventure searching for the homestead we, of course, saw more of you as you narrated us through those times. But it's obvious (at least to me) that you have embraced the task of establishing the home in the homestead. All the best to you, your husband/partner, your strapping growing boys, and of course the angel in your lives. BTW, I'm going to try your recipe with the resources I have here in Germany. It might taste a bit different and that's ok.
What a sense of achievement you must have Meg when you look at your personally filled shelves……I did all that along with caring for a baby and feeding my man and all the boys! 👏🏼
I definitely enjoyed it! And I learned a lot. Now I want a garden... and a dehydrator... and a food mill, a hundred jars, huge stainless steel pots, a spoon knife, and a baby girl as cute as Buggie. Whether you put out one video a week, or one a month, you're still in my top 3 favorite YT channels.
I am so glad that you are coming out with content again, I sure have missed you all! Thank you Meg for taking us along on your canning projects and Ben you should make and sell those spoon knives, I for one would purchase.
Maybe you and the boys could spend some cold Autumn evenings making both spoon knives and wooden spoons to sell for Christmas. I would buy both the spoons and the spoon knife. I enjoy wood carving and wood turning. I also collect hand carved wooden spoons from around the world. (I now support missionaries in third world countries who bring me a spoon as a thank you. (At 62, I am getting too old to do the hard traveling and work that missionaries often have to do.) one problem with store bought wooden spoons is that they are almost flat. That’s ok for stirring but then you have to dirty another spoon to dish out the food. With that knife, you can carve big, deep ladle like serving spoons for chunky stews and soups. I bet that you and the boys could make some good money making artisan tools and wooden spoons. That new scroll saw could be used to cut out the blanks. They could also learn a lot about business skills from the experience.
You are one busy lady! Everything you canned looks delicious. I don’t know how you can work like you do with your sweet baby on your back, but you do and get so much done, it’s amazing.
Meg you’re one heck of a woman you worked in the kitchen all day God bless you and can I tell you you’re a little girl cracks me right up be safe and God bless
Meg you look just like my Granny did at the very end of one of her canning days ... REALLY BEAT! I was just a little kid and I asked her why she worked so hard preparing the stuff to be canned. Her answer was always the same: I enjoy doing it and the food tastes so good in the winter!
Love the wooden spoons! I finally bought one, and I love it! Next, I would like a wooden spatula. I don't like the look of the melted plastic on my plastic spatulas. Wooden spatulas would be awesome! Sounds like your boys have a money making hobby!
Meg, I really enjoyed your opening . As you were describing what you wanted to do today, Buggy had one eye peeking out of the carrier looking at the camera. It was so cute.
Soooo good to see you vlog Meg💕I've missed you! Ben can you make me a spoon chisel?? My son is doing whittling and woodworking this year. I am ready to buy one from you!!
Lol, all the homesteaders I follow make me feel like a lazy slob this time of year! Y'all keep doing what you're doing, looks good! Ben, make more spoon knives and sell them please. That looked absolutely superb!
Hi Meg! Good to see you! I love that the boys are carving. I love those spoons. I hope you have something to stand on while at the counter and stove. Save your feet and legs. I bet you were wiped out. You and Ben work so hard. I think of you all often and include you in prayers❤️
We need subtitles for Miss Buggy!!! Love to hear the little ones babbling. There's no doubt she's having a conversation, or that you understand. My youngest is 12, so it's been a while since we've heard that sound in our house.
Cow pie lol I thought that's what he said so I replayed the video Oh my God I started laughing so hard I think I blew something anyway everything looks really good that green salsa looks really good. Have fun this weekend at the farmers stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless and enjoy life. 🌻🤗✌💖💪👨🍳🎅🚌👍
Missed seeing you in the vlogs! I hope that means that the little one is sleeping more regularly and over her cholic or whatever it was that made things so challenging. You have mad skills, as does Ben!! Seeing you both in action is more powerful than it may seem in the moment because you show 1) willingness is still there to learn AND Apply; 2) ingenuity; 3) perseverance; 4) artistry; 5) pride in work and so much more...those are universal things but they have been muted in a mass-produced environment so it thrills my heart to see that there are pockets of it thriving all over this country and the skills won't be lost.
ps - any chance one of the boys is showing an aptitude for doing rough cuts on editing so you can post videos more often? Since you're the only one that can edit and you are doing all the things, it's definitely a challenge to post consistently, so hoping one of the teens/tweens might be able to fill in some of the editing gaps so you don't have to do it by yourself?
Love your food mill. I was reminded of that old commercial about potato chips that kept the peel on. An old lady complained about peeling so many potatoes her whole life and says she always knew they added more flavor. My grandmother peeled slicing tomatoes until I asked her why. Lol maybe it’s just that we have better equipment. Our salsa always has the peels and seeds.
Megan, you look so tired. I am praying for God to strengthen you. I love you and your family. Please take care of yourself. I hope little buggie is sleeping through night! Are those hot peppers? I had to wear gloves whe o work with them. You are an amazing woman! Thank you for sharing your process. God bless you and yours!
I am trying to find just the right words to express how awesome it is to see you in action, Meg! One day I hope to have enough "stuff" to preserve :) While I am considerably older than you, I still want to be just like you when I (and my garden) grow up! I love how you have a purpose for each and every part of your process :) (like even your completely milled skins and seeds for the dehydrator!) While you are knee deep in it all, there is still such a serenity to your process (while I suppose, in part, it might just be made to look that way). Also, I wrote that before your exhaustion truly set in :) Lil Buggy so resembles her brothers...she gets more adorable with every video. Love your homemade spoon!! When/if you tire of mass production of homemade soaps, put the boys to work making those spoons - heck, I'll take half a dozen! :) Awesome spoon knife, Ben! I don't want to get weird about it...just know that I am so fond of all you Hollars, and look forward to the times you choose to/have time to share. Blessings always, and thanks for sharing your recipe! :)
Ah remember those days tiring work especially with 4 young kids running around. I will say I was lucky and had a summer kitchen outside, basically a large double flat gas grill, a metal table and of course, everything to can, kept the mess out of the house if it rained out put up a canopy. Safe trip and blessings to all. 😊🇱🇷.
That was great fun watching you work, Meg. Thanks for the recipes and techniques. Love the spoon making as well. The baby girl was watching mama intently-storing all those sights and sounds for sometime in the future!!
I suggest the boys start making wooden spoons various sizes and put them for sale, a way for them to make pocket money:))) Ladybug's talk is soooo adorable!!!!!!!!!!
Your an amazing woman Meg, selfish nah your taking care of your family the right way. All that wonderful home grown food processing you do and with that little one on your hip.
It is so nice to see mother and son working together. What a blessing this is going to be for them they will never forget how they grew up thank you for teaching them how to live.
It was so wonderful to see & hear more of you, Meg. But if this was a typical day, I understand why you're not on camera as much. Watching all the prepping & processing brought back memories, helping my mom. Ben, would love to know if you or any of your boys will be selling any of those glorious spoons? I'm seriously interested in purchasing several. Thanks so much for the great videos and all the hard work that goes into making them. Have a wonderful, safe trip to HOA.
I JUST LOVE IT WHEN MEGAN DOES HER OWN VLOGS/VIDEOS…..Megan, please do more of it…..Thank you 😀 OMG, Ben you are just very skilled….love that Carving spoon knife…Awesome, BRILLIANT!
You will GET IT DONE COMPLETELY. As HARD as you push YOURSELF. YOUR grandmother is an amazing lady how she TAUGHT YOU and your families.. GOD BLESSES YOU WITH ENERGY TO GET IT DONE BEFORE TUESDAY.. HAVE A FUN AND PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND WITH YOURSELF AND FRIENDS. RELAX THIS WEEKEND. CHOW FROM SE MICHIGAN'🌹🌟🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🛐✝️❤️☕☕
Meg, your allowed to be totally selfish!!! You have worked your butt of canning. We all know from experience how much time is put into growing, harvesting, and canning fresh food. All those sauces really looked amazing. Your family will totally appreciate all your hard work. Gosh....I wish we were going to the HOA this year. My husband, and I would of loved to meet you and Ben. Our schedule here didn't allow for time away to go to Virginia this year. Maybe next year (Hoa)😢. I can't get over how big little Miss Buggie is growing. Now that Buggie has grown she can really get around. Ben, Great job on the spoons, and spoon knife....possibly something you may consider selling later? Have an awesome time at HOA, and safe travels.
Meg--a big thank you! I have just about that many tomatoes left and had run out of ideas. This is perfect. Also, I made my salsa verde and used lime juice instead of lemon this time and we loved it--try it sometime. As for Ben, of course you figured out how to make a spoon knife. You can do anything.
🙋🏼♀️🕊. Love watching you put so much love into whatever you are doing, makes for a great ingredient ♥️ ladybug 🐞 is cute as ever.🌸🕊🍀. The boys love being in the kitchen with you,🌸. My boys are great in the kitchen as well 🙋🏼♀️🕊 I have canned as well so nice seeing the pantry full. 🙋🏼♀️🕊 blessings to you mamma. Ben also does it with passion as well 💕🦋. Great job Ben as usual .thanks for sharing Nana Pelle 🍀🙋🏼♀️🕊
Chili sauce put on top of the meatloaf when it was halfway baked. YUM! My mother made it too and it was my grandmother's recipe (my Dad's mother). I think it was an Amish thing.
It all looks very tasty...love salsa! I grew up in a mostly Black neighborhood, and the mothers and wives would take turns hosting cook-offs in their kitchens, and when my granny's and mother's kitchens were picked, I'd sit in and learn good ol' Southern soul food...I still make most of the meals today...YUM! 😋
I’m thrilled to see you filming Meg. I’ve missed you!!!

Meg . . . You work SO hard. I don't know where you get the energy, especially when you have Buggie on your back. You are amazing!
Loved those little eyes peeking out from the red cover that she was in on your back. So precious 💓
Thank you for posting this video! I was a person who did canning, but just had open heart surgery and I'm not allowed to can or cook for some time
Do I SO ENJOY your cooking/canning ones
Makes me happy. Thanks again
Caroline Stagg then write down your canning memories this year! Next year you can teach others & pass on your tips.
My husband had a quadruple bypass a few years ago. You really need to rest and let your body heal after they crack you open. Take the time to take care of yourself. I have never canned but I love watching this young couple and their family. Hope for the future. Take care, peace
@Caroline Stagg I hope your recovery is going well, stay well, rest , sending healing hugs from Canada
@@donnadunlop thank you
I'm tired just watching you Meg! I grew up in a family of 5 kids, we had an acre garden EVERY year, so I know how much work preserving food is, but it's worth it!
That was funny when he said "Cow Pie...Splat". I needed that chuckle today!!! You are so dang good at multi tasking. Love following your family.
Me too! So needed a sweet chuckle! 🥰 Thank you for sharing this special moment 🥰💕🌻🐛
There is nothing any prettier than sitting back & looking at the rows of food that a person has "put up" for their family for the winter. That gives a person a sense of pride to see all the "jewels" lined up on a self.

EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP you are DOING.
I think back to the state of that home when you first arrived on the property. Then to see it now, a home full of love and productivity. Quite and amazing journey. Keep on living your best lives. :)
Can't wait to become more independent from the grocery store. Great job!
Meg, you’re such a beautiful soul! My heart was smiling as I was watching. Preparing and canning is such work and add in a child, well I can’t imagine. You are simply an amazing young woman. Such an inspiration! ❤️
Canning is a LOT of work, but the reward is well worth it.
Meg, you’re a hard working person! Everything looks sooo good. I think I can smell your cooking and canning process from here.
When youre young you got that mojo so better get it all done when youre young..
Most adorable baby ever. Cutest when they're mobile and talkative but still clearly a baby. Something about beautiful women and adorable babies.
Now we know how she stays so little, glad to see people still canning all that food for winter and beyond, nice to see you guys putting out more videos
Awesome video! I can't imagine what it's like to run a camera while preserving, especially with multiple recipes! Geesh i'm overwhelmed thinking about it 🤯❤️
And with a baby on her back....she is rock solid for sure
I agree 100%!!!
Thank you!!
All you HOMESTEAD VLOG Families are very hard working and teaching your children lifetime skills 👏💙👍.
You’re doing great, Meg! Your family is so blessed to have a wife and mother who is so capable of putting up so much food for them for winter. You and Ben always amaze me with your knowledge and work ethic.

What a sense of achievement you must have Meg when you look at your personally filled shelves……I did all that along with caring for a baby and feeding my man and all the boys! 👏🏼
Love how the little lady tries to assist mom in pointing out the produce and talking 😁😍
Missed you guys so glad your uploading more : ) May the Lord Bless you and keep you in his sweet embrace.

Good for these parents, teaching these crafts to their children👍👍👍
Meg you look just like my Granny did at the very end of one of her canning days ... REALLY BEAT! I was just a little kid and I asked her why she worked so hard preparing the stuff to be canned. Her answer was always the same: I enjoy doing it and the food tastes so good in the winter!
Your family is beyond talented! This season, Meg, deserves extra praise!!!
Welcome back Meg we did miss you over the last year and look forward to seeing more of you in the videos, but realize you are a busy mom.
Hard work never pays so well, as when you can and taste your own produce. Very nice .
Also buggy joining you in explaining what you were doing with her hand sticking out is the cutest thing.
Meg is there anything you can't do. Preserving, chasing a small child, cooking super, and whatever else.
Making soap
I recognize that canning fatigue, I know it well. The spoon knife is awesome. I would love to have a nice hand made wooden spoon! Great job!
Wooden spoons--perhaps something the boys could make some pocket money with.
Love the wooden spoons! I finally bought one, and I love it! Next, I would like a wooden spatula. I don't like the look of the melted plastic on my plastic spatulas. Wooden spatulas would be awesome! Sounds like your boys have a money making hobby!

Meg - I have really enjoyed watching you today. Your family must really appreciate you!
Nice to see your face. This should be called the feel good channel. You kids are so down too earth.
I love spending time in the kitchen just chopping away, I get lost especially when I'm on my own 👍
Soooo good to see you vlog Meg💕I've missed you!

Love buggy peaking out from under the hood. ♥️
You're going to be so happy to have all this good fresh stuff in the winter.
It's so funny to hear Lilly chatting away! She is so freaking cute! Nice she gets "involved" in EVERYTHING!!! She is adorable!!!!!!
Meg, you are such a hard worker!!! Love your channel
The green tomatoes are really good fried.
I am tired just watching you and I feel guilty just sitting. I laughed hard at the cow pie on the table remark. Great video. Have fun at HMO

You and Ben are such hard workers. What great role models you are for your children.
Your an amazing woman Meg, selfish nah your taking care of your family the right way. All that wonderful home grown food processing you do and with that little one on your hip.
Meg, I really enjoyed your video !!! We always love seeing Ben and the boys !!! But just love that sweet little girl and her mama !!
Your baby is so so cute! I see a lot of dad and Mom in her looks. 😍

Agreed!! Better then Ma on little house on the prairie! I want that green salsa sauce so bad!! It looked so yummy!
I can completely relate to the busy canning days and being completely wiped out at the end. I love those days
I love the green tomato salsa verde! Canning is exhausting but man I love reaching onto the shelf to get delicious home grown food.
My Grandmother would put that sweet chili sauce on meatloaf. It was very good. My Grandfather would put it on his fried eggs.
Hard working Mom. I remember watching my Mom and Aunt do this year after year. I loved the canned tomatoes.
Oh happy to see young couples canning and carving out wooden utensils.
Great inspiration Meg, job well done! Love the spoon carving knife too Ben
I rarely watch videos more than once.. but I take exception with yours...they bring me joy ...I need Joy....
Seeing you make a video is like a breath of fresh air. ❤🙏.To Ben, the spoon knife is cool, although i had never heard of it b4❤💪.
Busy woman this time of year. I always watch the new videos y'all post and get tired for y'all . Best wishes for you and yours.
