The word that I received this morning hinged on that very thing. Why do we tend to make murders, thieves, adulterers and sinners the victims?
I was abused, I found Adonai Elohim Yeshua HaMessiah in my late thirties. All the anger and frustration melted away when I began to truly forgive those that tormented me.
Plus, I do not want anyone to ever experience that which I went through and am still going through.
I have unseen assailants, male and female that wait until I am deep in sleep to violate me. Adonai sees all and unless they repent they will not escape.
The Love of Adonai and the tools that I am gaining everyday from the teachings set before me strengthen me night and day. I will be delivered.
I truly can say that I am the happiest that I have ever been. Shalom, L'hllel, Amen.

The point was, hard facts is, usually someone who is homeless, a previous felon, drug addicts, etc. a lot of these people have their own families cut ties with them. These are the kinds of people most people wouldn't notice they're missing or would care they are even missing. These people aren't high profile enough to warrant much talk around the area, in fact, this entire incident was very isolated in Louisana it never even made into national headlines unlike other serial killers did. Especially considering these are grown men, not women getting raped in their homes or out in the streets. Basically speaking, they're essentially gray characters for the most part. This isn't something new with serial killers picking off people who won't be missed, it's a very common theme. It's also one of the modus operandi that famous serial killer cousins, the Hillside Stranglers had, which actually saved the life one potential victim, daughter of deceased actor Peter Lorre, because they know if she went missing, the heat will be very high for the suspects at that point.

One of the saddest thing besides simple human cruelty is the fact that you can scream at the top of your lungs and nobody will come to help you even if they hear it. I can't even imagine sitting at home being like "Yeah that sounds like a pretty bloodcurling scream alright" without at LEAST calling the police or SOMETHING. If I owned a weapon I might even tentatively go see if I can help, as I call the police. I'd be very extremely scared... but I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I did nothing no matter what. I know all too well what it's like that the neighbors hear noise and nobody calls the police even if you scream. People just consider it an inconvenience to their sleeping and turn sides.

No, most people don't just turn sides. But if you do something, you get involved with whatever it is that is going on. If you call the cops and tell them you're going to have a look and bringing a gun with you, they will tell you not to do so - because if they come and find a gun toting guy and a victim of violence they WILL assume the gun toting guy (you) is the perpetrator and either arrest or shoot you. I used to get involved in various things when I thought it could help in some way, mostly DV things. The only thing it got me was threats of violence or death from the perp, mostly insults from the victim, and low key threats from the police and all parties telling me to mind my own business. I saw things where a big guy was beating up a smaller guy, I stepped in and stopped it, only for both parties to get pissed off at and attacking me. So I stopped. Now I just mind my own business unless either party actually asks for my help. Everything that doesn't involve me or mine is someone elses problem, unless they ask for my help. That btw was what the police told me to do as well, they said they understand I'm trying to help but that I should stay out of it and let them handle it´.

well, the alternatives are worse. Since the justice system convicts innocent people for all kinds of things with appalling regularity, you should not go for irreversible solutions, unless you then accept those solutions also being used against innocent people. If you want death penalty to be applied you must accept and support innocent people also being killed with regularity. The system isn't perfect and cannot be made perfect, which is why appeals etc exist, and why many have an issue with death penalty. You can't complain about something without coming up with an alternative. Well, you CAN, but what you can't do is have sensible people agree with you. It's about the best balance of things, the perfect solution isn't within reach.

IMO, I’ve heard inmates say they’d rather be dead, than having to live the rest of their lives in solitary confinement. Some people think, this is torture, but I look at it like the misery they will have to endure, will give the victim/victims much more justice. This consequence seems more fitting than knowing, this will eventually end. Instead they will never know how many years they will be required to live before this ends.

You’re one of the very few who understands not only the torture of living in solitary confinement, which in most western countries is banned btw due to its cruelty, they also have the delight of waiting on their end of long long dreary numbskull boring days for the final day on which the get to lay down on a gurney and wait until the clock finally ticks down to their plunger time) they don’t have movie night or interactions bar from their lawyer. And those final minutes last a decade in themselves. Their punishment lasts decades with only one outcome. That is what I call vengeance. Oh pardon Justice.

@@Ainaes-Feline After reading your post, I have to say agree with you. I don’t believe in the death penalty, giving sanctioned murder to the State. Giving limited rights to them, being able to be with the other solitary inmates for part of the day, etc. I was just responding to the death penalty, and what I have heard inmates say.
I also don’t think they should have full privileges like other inmates may be given. A lot of the time, what they did to the victims, which was crueler than solitary confinement, they didn’t deserve it. But you’re right, we shouldn’t bring ours to that level.

The criminal justice system is a joke in a lot of ways. This guy raped men, but the reason why he eventually came to the conclusion to kill them as well was because he was sent to prison before and was raped there. Honestly, that could've been prevented if actual prisons were good and try to reform criminals, but they don't, they just harden them and make them more deranged in majority of these cases, and here we have proof of that where he escalated due to his experiences in prison.

Well, I think it some inner turmoil of his own that gave the motive. But yes, the detective said that yet still it was also commented that he suffered some heart condition (maybe because of his size) yet still helped neighbours with shopping and mowing lawns. So I would guess those would say he was kind even if he perhaps was not socially outgoing. But since a detective saying it, he could be jaded by seeing so much of crap. Another thing is that disturbing views and manners of someone that have been caught may not have been that visible to people around them but come to light in interrogations. I doubt even people who have redeeming qualities (which perhaps is a minority?) put out things with their shame and guilt on their front lawn so to say. The culprit may have had such thoughts about the victims, if they were homeless or otherwise on the shade side.

Vulnerability is omnipresent irrespective of one's race. gender or circumstance. No doubt all those that came into contact with Libby from her friends that didn't accompany her in the taxi. the doorman that refused her entry through to the awakened sleeper that didn't come to her aid will regret their actions that night. The fact is no one, including Libby, could not have foreseen what had unfolded. We must always take due care but not live in fear.
Huge condolences to Libby's family and friends and congrats to the police for finding and prosecuting the murderer.

27 years seems very light sentence for someone with this long a history and whom has now escalated to murder. He will still be a risk after he's released. I know they say that men are less likely to offend after they reach a certain age. Hopefully that's true in his case. I also hope he gets some perspective handed out in prison when he receives unwanted contact with other prisoners.

I lived in Kenner at the Susan Park Gym during Katrina relief. We had armed guards at the gym, 24/7. There were blood stains in the parkinglot thw day i arrived, & was warned not to walk the neighborhood alone. I found out years later, we were surrounded by serial killers; from N.O., to Baton Rouge & beyond.

How u go to A wedding & have to hitch hike A ride back home , u literally need A ride after supporting someone at there wedding , another thing he’s not just A serial killer I see A racist he was killing all black men , the crazy thing I’m from Louisiana & been living here all my life & this is the first time I’ve ever heard of this . Another thing I say this all the time police aren’t as good as u think when it comes to murders . People get caught becus of motive , altercation or some kind of relationship with the two & that’s how most of the time A suspect is caught & now days the cameras help , But if I walk out right now & do something to A random person they want know or figure it out most likely…
