"Make sure the kids hear words." That's actually not how language develops. Every time I see that clip, I want to smack him. Language isn't vocabulary, its grammar. I know, because my daughter had extreme language delays despite having an unbelievably large vocabulary and being able to read before she was 2. I know a couple of deaf parents who thought it could work that way with their non-deaf child. Just turn on the TV, or the radio. Language is learned through conversation, not passive exposure to words. They were lucky and caught their mistake early enough that they could intervene and catch their kid up. I was lucky enough that I put my daughter into kindergarten a year early--threw her into the deep end of the "you need language if you're going to survive" pool, and she was motivated enough to figure it out. But we still needed homemade flash cards to help her learn to build sentences out of words.

It happened to me too, Karen. I was deaf until I was 5. My family thought I had a learning disability but I just couldn't hear. A couple of operations later and a year or so of speech therapy and *talking with people* and I've been speaking normally for my entire life. I'm also an avid reader. Leaving the TV on for kids isn't the best advice. Talk with them and read to them, and then get them to read. Talking and reading are both becoming lost arts.

Now, we do not know who was the candidate of choice on those ballots, but it is still election fraud- no matter which side of the aisle we stand. I think that is where the "stop-gap" came in. Not the fact that there was no voter fraud, but the fact that it cannot be proven which candidate was on those ballots. Maybe Biden had 90 million votes, and Trump had 70 million, or visa versa. But every America should be concerned when there is a question about whether we received a free and fair election. That's actually not how language develops. Every time I see that clip, I want to smack him. Language isn't vocabulary, its grammar. I know, because my daughter had extreme language delays despite having an unbelievably large vocabulary and being able to read before she was 2.
I know a couple of deaf parents who thought it could work that way with their non-deaf child. Just turn on the TV, or the radio. Language is learned through conversation, not passive exposure to words. They were lucky and caught their mistake early enough that they could intervene and catch their kid up.
I was lucky enough that I put my daughter into kindergarten a year early--threw her into the deep end of the "you need language if you're going to survive" pool, and she was motivated enough to figure it out. But we still needed homemade flash cards to help her learn to build sentences out of words.

It happened to me too, Karen. I was deaf until I was 5. My family thought I had a learning disability but I just couldn't hear. A couple of operations later and a year or so of speech therapy and *talking with people* and I've been speaking normally for my entire life. I'm also an avid reader. Leaving the TV on for kids isn't the best advice. Talk with them and read to them, and then get them to read. Talking and reading are both becoming lost arts.

Now, we do not know who was the candidate of choice on those ballots, but it is still election fraud- no matter which side of the aisle we stand. I think that is where the "stop-gap" came in. Not the fact that there was no voter fraud, but the fact that it cannot be proven which candidate was on those ballots. Maybe Biden had 90 million votes, and Trump had 70 million, or visa versa. But every America should be concerned when there is a question about whether we received a free and fair election. It goes on and on- videos of people filling out ballots- and all voting for Biden; 100,000 Democrats in Virginia received 2 ballots each. Thousands of Republican voters, received return envelopes with incorrect addresses. Ballots all across this Country found in ditches, and postal workers caught discarding ballots. Postal worker caught with thousands of ballots in the trunk of his personal vehicle- not his postal vehicle. ALL of these things are election fraud, and criminal acts- no matter which side of the aisle those ballots were to go.
The Democrats do not care if there was election fraud; it only mattered if it went against them.
