    “The sorta joint the kids are into” 😂🤣😂
    Enjoying the series just found your house build series very informative, I’m not a bricky but have all ways been interested in building a house.
    I’ve recently bought a few tools to practice laying bricks.

    Going to have to take that brickwork out and put lintels in! Pain in the arse but you’ll deffo need to do.
    Great series, I’m really enjoying them. As a fellow bricklayer this is something I’m planning to do in the future 👍

    As a old plumber you dont need a fittng either side. Your laying the pipe in sand so you are good. The footing are bottomed out so your not going to get enough movement to break the pipe. With a job like that yes the plumber would just put enough pipe in place for you to lay your bricks around the pipe or most of the time knock out the bricks exactly what you did. You are teaching me plenty and i thank you. Any plumbing tips are my pleasure to heep you.

    Maybe put a lintel over these pipes , as they break through the brickwork.

    Hey, Rodian... Thanks very much for the video. Oh yeah, that little mistake of putting pipe in when you didn't need to, not only showed people how to do it, it will show people for years to come, how to do it! YAY \o/

  • @shizzleinthenizzle

    needed to lintle over the sewer pipes on both skins. Also you should have put an inspection chamber where you turned 90 dead close to that dodgy looking cliff face so you can rod it.

    • @RodianBuilds
      @RodianBuilds  5 лет назад +2

      In a future video I pull the great wall down and put a manhole in. I was so excited about filming the video that I completely forgot it needed lintels so I went back and put them in a few days later

      @@RodianBuilds well done ! Wouldnt it have been easier and safer to drop that wall before you started building ? If it drops wrong way will push in your wall like paper. A few hundred ton of soil there be bloody careful!

    Rodian, Great videos I wonder if you could talk about your plot and how you got it. I have an aspiration to build in the uk. When I saw your plans I wondered if its worth trying to find a property with land rather than a building plot and gain permission that way. Top videos keep up the great work.

    Are you going to add underfloor heating to the slab ? Hope you do, its not much more cost wise and no having to drop pipes everywhere. If your not on mains gas, looks like your in the sticks, then maybe an air pump would be cost effective in the long run.

    • @RodianBuilds
      @RodianBuilds  5 лет назад

      Most definitely going to be having underfloor heating. It's not so in the sticks, will be having mains gas.

    John Bowkett For 40 years you have been doing it wrong bud, and any 'problems you create will obviously not be seen - Manufacturers will tell you NOT to use detergent to lubricate joints, which can fail by using concentrated washing up liquid, and will risk leaching raw sewage into the substrate, us 'college boys' know that, but you would too if you read the manufacturers literature !- so I would say well done 40 years of cockups! You must be proud. Just buy the right silicone and add the cost to the job, no excuses its Simple!

    Rodian you may be a decent bricklayer (although I doubt that if you add Fairy Liquid to your mortar as a Plasticiser - See Rob Songer vids. - he is a very good craftsman and uses proper plasticiser) but you are shit at drainage, but the bigger issue here is that you believe what your doing is correct. This video is a waste of your time as you said not only are you working out of sequence, but your offering people wrong installation information. You tube are you monitoring this. If you actually knew what you were doing you would know that plastic pipes installations are entirely different to rigid pipes and your giving out mixed up information. A house would need to drop very significantly to actually snap a plastic pipe and such, a subsidence of that kind would indicate a fundamental foundation issue - if surrounding this pipe in pea gravel you not need need 'rocker pipes. Yes I think thats what you were trying to advise - only use rockers on rigid pipes that is Cast or Clay runs. Also FYI all flexible joints in the pipe should be wrapped and protected to not only allow expansion and linear movement that is if you intend to surround this later in concrete to set your levels. But the wrap is essential and will protect the rubber in the joint from cementicious attack. If you are going to make educational videos make sure your giving the public clear and correct instructions.

  • @biffoswilly

    Your drainage laying is not compliant, each change of direction needs a rodding access, the bend should be long radius also you should not use washing up liquid to joint the pipes,as it is not recommended by the manufacturer- use the proper silicone. Use a hand rasp to put on your chamfer.
    You made no attempt to lay the pipe to any gradient. I saw sand and debris in the pipe which will go down the drain and cause a blockage its a shame that you simply have no idea regarding drainage so in my opinion you you need to buy a book and clue up.
