    Well western medicine has been around for a long time too, yall know like Hiopocrates oath? The dude Hippocrates is from the classical greek period, which is 5~4th century BC. But modern western medicine, especially those that started in Britain or USA, which is like the only thing people count as real medicine nowadays, has been around for 450~500 ish years, so it lacks a lot of the old timey traditional botanical or pharma wisdom (minus some spring water stuff), which western medicine society seems either fascinated of or disgusted by (usually for the lack of scientific evidence, which I find to quite hilarious considering how skewed even modern scienfitic research can be in regards to pharma). Also, I say a lot of the traditional botanical wisdoms western society did have were also probably lost due to them witch hunting a lot of women healers so in a sense western medicine screwed itself.

      @@loua8457 look for soothing, hydrating, barrier repair ingredients in your products. Thing like the snail mucin, centella asciatica, hyaluronic acid, propolis, plant extracts, panthenol, beta glucan, ceramides, ginseng, and so on.
      Right now I’m using the pyunkang yul toner essence and their moisture ampuole, then I apply the tretnoin, and follow with a moisturizer. I’m using the beauty of joseon dynasty cream. In the morning don’t layer too many products under your sunscreen because it’s gonna flake like crazy. I personally just do the toner/essence part, the moisture ampuole, let them absorb then follow with the beauty of joeson sunscreen. If you live in a colder or dryer climate, you can use a moisturizer that pairs well with your sunscreen, but let it set first. Also try using a sleeping mask or a balm as a final step in your routine. I really like the cosrx rice sleeping mask. It gives you the glowiest skin when you wake up but at the same time it’s not as thick as things like the la roche posay cicaplast baume.

    I think they're all good. When it comes to treatment, American skincare products are much better with a wide variety of active choices. When it comes to basic, regular products, Korean skincare products are way ahead of their time. Their formulation is so good, they also use unique ingredients that are specifically directed to repair your skin barrier, hydrate your skin, and treat "minor" skin problems like irritated skin, redness, dry patches, etc. Try Indonesian skincare products if you haven't. I believe Somethinc is an Indonesian brand that ships globally. I personallu think Indonesian skincare products are a good balance between Korean/Japanese and American products.

  • @BearScowe

    Im actually really happy that a lot of American Brands are following suit of KBeauty and creating gentler formulas, using herbal ingredients, focusing on skin barrier health, and using more interesting ingredients, such as snail mucin. I'm definitely way more into Korea's skincare philosophy, but when I find Western products that have a similar feel, i am all about it! Im looking at you Byoma ❤

For example i mix 1-2 drops of my 20% niacinamide serum with 3 pumps of my k beauty serum that targets sensitive skin, because 20% is very high I'm basically just boosting my serum :) so not only am im getting the benefits on both ends but it saves me money since the 20% is expensive

    • @totallynotreese
      @totallynotreese Год назад

      20% of niacinamide is beyond insanity it usually comes in 2-5% and mixing products screws up the pH level, ruin the benefits completely destroying the purpose of the product, and sensitizing your skin because of the high concentration

    Now at 30 I'm finally starting a dedicated skincare routine. I have pores that need cleaning and maintenance and I have a bit of acne scaring.
    With Western products I'm trying to mostly reduce the darkness of those little scars.

    The problem with treatment focussed is that it obviously doesn't focus on the bigger picture n it's just mainly focused on getting the job done n obviously such approaches have temporary solution n doesn't not treat the main issues. Hence you are back to where you started if you don't use them n that allows the business to continue to grow.

    May be because K people have a skin care culture. Most Americans don’t care about skin until they are in their 30s, when problems are already there. American skin care with great actives. It is what has helped me reverse some of my aging concerns.

    very interesting! we actually learned about this in sociology --- largely stems from our shitty healthcare system and how US citizens usually avoid doctors and medical bills like the plague. European and Asian countries have much better preventative care despite having higher smoking rates, etc. (for one obvious tell).

    Me a big fan of K beauty, not only because they more affordable, but I believe my skin is delicate so I need to use more gentle skincare, and I use skincare as young as when I was teenager so I use to taking care my skin and preventing aging, even I turning 28 this year and start to have small freckles I still use gentle skincare rather than high concentrate of active ingredients, because I believe over using anything mean bad, well I am an Asian I have something I believe to do anything 🤭

    Hi Cassandra, I’m reaching out to influencers hoping you can help the women of NA/AA/HA here in Atlanta. The recovery community is in need of help ridding their shame and building a new life. I as a former addict can attest that I and the girls in my community feel very insecure with our skin and how we look after years of addiction has left it’s marks on our face. It really affects the self esteem and I haven’t heard back from anyone yet but if you happen to have extra products or PR products sent to you, we could really use them and I believe you can write it off on your taxes as it is a non-profit but most of all you would be helping so many women feel human again as they rebuild their lives. Thank you for your videos and it would mean the world if you could help, even if it’s just one item…no donation is too small!-X❤
