@@vishalnarayanasamy8767 Did you pass into a vegetative state from 1990 onwards?! WELCOME BACK! START listening to a just a FEW of Ilayaraja's albums by year - MMKR, Guna, Devar Magan, Mahanadhi, Veera, Kaadhalukku Mariyaadhai, Guru (Malayalam 1997), Sethu, Hey Ram, Bharathi, Ivan, Virumaandi, CHeeni Kum, Paa, Shamitabh, NEPV, up until the most recent Viduthalai-2!
After Veera, RK was at loggerheads with IR. What is surprising about his "sudden love" for Deva back then?! It was always Deva and co. (his 2 brothers Sabesh and Murali being an integral part of the "team" work). Many of his (their) songs are plagiarized (Salomiya, Mudhan mudhalil parthen, Annamalai theme, Superstar theme - both themes copied from Ilayaraja, Konja naal poru thalaivaa etc.). Not saying he did not give good songs (there are good songs like the ones from Aasai, Vaigaasi Porandhaachu etc.), but his music or even Arr / Vidyasagar music is in NO WAY SUPERIOR to that of MAESTRO ILAYARAJA. Yes, Deva had his "peak" (~ 9 years), but then, that is it. Nothing more there. To say "Raja raja dhaan, but idhu Deva" is outright SILLY of the director of Lubber Pandhu. IRONY is Ilayaraja's Pottu vachcha thanga kudam came as the savior for the scenes. Same applies to Vaazhai where ManjaL poosi and Poongodi dhaan had more impact than the flat Thoodhuvalai and Panjumittaai saelai katti. IR music brims with emotions and soul, and not mere "hits" like others' songs. IR's background scores are the BEST in the entire COUNTRY. So no comparison there. With NUMBERS, absolutely no competition, again! 1000+ movies, 6000+ songs, umpteen albums and STILL catering to Viduthalai-2. And then, last but not the least, composing Symphony is what ONLY Ilayaraja could do (First Asian to do it in 1993; his next one is releasing next year)!!

@@nonasmouny267 WHY? Because you are so used to fake smiles, faux-humility and flattery to impress fans that CANDID nature is allergy to your ilk? IR career life and personal life is squeaky clean, and CLEANER than 99% of them in the entire Indian film industry (cleaner than Arr's too!), or yourself for that matter!!

@@BC999 well you don’t know me. With great talent and power , there should also be humility. Look at how he treated the poor security guard in one of his concert. He is definitely a maestro in music , but he is not a good HUMAN, people try to say things like this is “Vidaygarvam” this and that but people who have contributed more to humanity than Raja has been more humble .
