I feel like a lot of people in the comments, it would be nice if Skmei would do versions in metal rather than plastic/resin, that way it would honestly feel less of a knockoff and more of an improvement.
Were it not for the limited Skmei viewing angle, the overall result would be further in favour of the latter. I really enjoy these comparisons, I hope you will do more of them.

They are both nice... Skmei is not a "data bank", but the light and the price are good... the poor visibility is sad... Casio is a "data bank", but to buy you need to rob a bank... hehehe... DB-36 is more accessible. Take the Casio DB-36 module and put it in the Skmei case... ;-) Thanks Gedmis for the comparisson. 3:39 Skmei's backlight is more elegant and classy. Why Casio can't make such a backlight?. On almost all Casio Watches there's this type of non uniform backlight
EL backlight need additional components (for step up voltage and layer display) conventional led just need one resistor, also led had longer lifespan than EL (like phospor), EL layer tend to decrese viewing angle and/or visibility on some cheap watches (like on some kid watch)
its impossible to find any chinesse watch that has the Telememo function, its so usefull to have some data. The Electroluminiscent panel should be something in the original Casio, is better than a Led in my opinion.

They have several mixed-design models that are hard to identify with certainty, resembling designs from other brands or models, or possibly featuring their own unique design. Regardless, considering their price range of 10-15$, these watches are quite good

I'm honestly surprised that Casio hadn't sue SKMEI for blatantly copying their design language.
Skmei is a Chinse manufacturer, nothng can be done here.

I have it too and when you turn the screen even a little bit all the pixels are visible and the text becomes unreadable
some models have better viewing angle some quite poor
