That's unreal. You have to wonder how places like that can just be abandoned. It's soooo huge. People never know what's under their feet in Britian. Greetings from New Zealand x
It's possible that it could be reopened since it's still in decent condition. Have a few near me that have been out of service for 20 plus year's that have been reopened and being revamped at a pretty fast pace due to current world tensions.
Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed this one it's fascinating to see all of the old internal equipment and the the rooms for broadcasting and the standby generations.
57:50 and 1:18:20 - they are manometers to measure differential pressure across filters etc. A lot of the time there are grey meter type manometers labelled magnahelic
That military radio room seemed a bit strange, there didn't seem to be any exit points for coaxial or other cables, if that room was for radio comms it should have been stuffed with cable entries. My Ham radio room at home has more cables than that. Great tour though nevertheless, cheers guys. The liquid tube on the wall of the air intake measures the vacuum in that room so they know when to change the filters as they block up.
The little doors that led into the rooms with the vents- would they have been meant to take the pressure wave in a blast? Or were they hoping it would have dissipated by the time it reached the vents? It looked like an oddly weak point.
Smashing I love to see how much our Government (Corporations ) WASTE OUR TAXES thanks that was one of the best examples I have watched, but I also watch all of your other escapades .

I seem to remember that this is in two halves, with a passage between with steps over a huge pipe.
