Oh gosh, I've been travelling so long that I've had a hard time coming back!! So this was a fabulous little kit. I did not end up bringing it to India because the five dresses took up sooooooo much room. I just brought sooooo much. Haha. But I have no doubt it would have held up. Let me know if you have any questions. I put a link to the pot in the description!

That’s so cool! You can really save money on meals while traveling, if you can cook in your hotel room!

The short length is a safety issue. That is good.

Update on my previous comment about liners for the pot.
I used a roasting bag similar to what you would put a piece of meat in to cook it. Worked great. Made three different soups (broth, onion, a curried one). I used rubber implements to stir with so as not to potentially break the bag. Next I tried a vacuum sealed bag. Made some curries, tofu stews, rice and lentils. Some I froze, some were refigerated. All were 8oz (240g). I put water in the pot (with a liner just in case) brought it to a simmer, added one of my sealed pouches . The ones that were frozen took about 20 to 30 minutes to get warm. The refrigerted ones took about 10 minutes or less. Not one of them leaked and was not over cooked. I have not ried anything else, but will experiment on legumes and rice next. May even do hot pot.

Cool gadget, here in the US it would pay for itself after one or two dinners.

So true. I realize after going wfpb that in terms of travel budget I spend way less on food

I Travel for work and I just microwave ramen, tofu, and veggies when I’m on the road. Plus a bunch of fruit. Nice pot though. 👌🏼😎

That's great 😊 yah, just sometimes like with my trip I didn't have a microwave or a grocery store hehe (well it was a wedding resort somewhat outside the city, so...), but I think booking a place with a microwave or mini kitchen is great. it's what i usually do❤

Can bags that are used for sous vide or the plastic roasting bags be used as a liner so that the "pot" does not pick up the flavors or discolor?

Oh such a great idea (of course from the chef😊)! I don't see why not. It would be boiling temperature which is fine for the bags and the unit. Oh if I had thought of that and had one of those vacuum seal devices I probably could have packed a few small meals with me. Maybe just freeze them beforehand for longer flights.

@@EastMeetsKitchen Gooing to get one, for $50 you can't go to wrong. Because, like you I do a lot of travelling. Better then the microwave in most hotel rooms if it works.
I will let you know if it works!

The amps multiplied by the voltage equals the watts. Sometimes it’s helpful to know how many amps it’s using. 🙂

      All righty, so I started looking up amps...and then I had to look up currents...and then came electrons...then something about volts...oh gosh...ohms. -- I SHAN'T. I WON'T! 😜 But thank you. I appreciate it.

Happy New Year! The reviews of this product are mostly OK, but there are knock-offs from other companies that look _very_ similar and their reviews are alarming. I feared that they're all manufactured in the same factory with inferior materials, so I'm glad that your review proved that this is not the case! I see that you didn't end up taking it on the wedding trip; maybe next time you go on a day trip you can rigorously test it? Thanks for posting : )

Happy new year!! -- I kind of feel the same way with a lot of these products so I was really surprised with this one. But yes, I had so much to bring on my trip, so next time I'll definitely bring it along :)

Since. It’s all one piece, is it easy or hard to clean while not getting the electronic part wet?

You know...I had footage of me cleaning it and just couldn't find it! If you can, right after cooking, fill it up with water so that it is soaking as it cools. Makes cleaning up a lot easier. For sure the plug bit can be a little annoying, but because it's a water style cooking and I also don't cook anything greasy in it, a little soap and water along with a quick rinse being careful of the side with the plug does the trick. All in all it wasn't that bad.
