I think you tried adding the zip folder instead of the actual font when u download the font whatever appeared in ur downloads u need to double click it and the actual font is when u double click it so you add what was in the folder when u double click it

how do i extract the font
You download the font and then you double click the little folder and drag the font in their to you downloads and then on pixlr when u click on ur text at the bottom it gives u the option to add local font
