      @@akeemelegbeji5300 If you say electricity is an essential service in Nigeria, why are many communities without light for months, for years ?
      More importantly sir, what is the definition of essential service ?
      Most importantly sir, pls mention one single individual, company, organisation, hospital, government agency, filling station, airport, mortuary, police station, military barrack, school, etc in Nigeria that CAN NOT do without public electricity for a whole day, a whole week or a whole month or years self.

    • @abiolaseriki2033
      @abiolaseriki2033 Месяц назад

      @@akeemelegbeji5300 There is no law that states that electricity is an essential service. What the law (Trade Union Act) says is that essential services should not be distruped during strike or any industrial action.
      And that is why NLC or TUC has never engaged employees of essential services, such as hospitals, fire services, Police Force and emergency rescue services in strike.
      BkO personally on his own, interpreted electricity as an essential service to wipe up sentiments against the labour leaders.

    An essential service is that which may result in instant death or serious injury if deprived or not instantly made available, like ambulance, emergency healthcare, Police protection.
    Even the best and biggest hospital in Nigeria has generator for emergency use if electricity goes off.
    So, what is so essential in our public electricity.

    Otitoju is taking side in Labour/Goverment impasse. Employers of labour in Nigeria are exploiters. You pay them peanuts, you expect excellent performance. Remember Ray Ekpu once said "the Lords make the serves perpectually beggerly so they can look unto them for their daily needs." You cannot end corruption in Nigeria if you continue to under-pay workers. Do not turn TVC to APC apologist.
