I've learned more from this cartoon as a kid than I ever did is school. This and Sesame Street, School House Rock, and Dusty's Tree house taught me the basics way better than my school district did.
I remember watching this episode when it first aired. Thank you so much for posting it! I thought I'd never see it again. I was so excited to learn how a steam locomotive worked. I went out and told my friend; he didn't seem very interested. It took a while to learn that not everyone is an engineer.
3:27: WInston Sharples-Hal Seeger iconic Scroll Producitons cue from MR.MONEYGAGS, (PArampunt, 1957, with Moe Hare and Tommy Tortoise, their last before their revival in 1960).
The episode shows why Tennessee Tuxedo is bossy, stubborn and arrogant. It also showed why he doesn't listen to Chumley and Stanley Livingston after he tells him not to go near the train. But he takes it out and proceeds to wreck it. After they see Mr. Whoopee, they fix the train and then they wreck it again.
they was very heavy handed when they tried running the steam locomotive I can understand way the owner of the steam engine didn't want them to fire her up until he arrived
Heh, it's amusing how Tennessee cries out "Look out! Hang on! We're going to-" and cuts off like that. Maybe he was so scared with the possibility of being killed in the inevitable wreck he couldn't finish his sentence? (Otherwise he could've said "Hang on! We're going to die!")
Hey Ma, I gotta sore throat (cough cough), Mom always fell for it. Watch Tennessee and friends, then outside on my bicycle later for (fresh air)...Hey ma, feeling much better now !
One thing I'm a little confused about here. I'm surprised Mr. Whoopee didn't forbid the two from monkeying around with the train components. Especially the welding involved, like he did in "T.V. Testers" or "The Lamplighters" (television or electricity). Seems that this aforementioned stuff could be just as dangerous. Anyone else agree?
The least little thing Tennessee and Chumley does and Stanley Livingston blows up at them. Well who could blame Stanley? Tennessee and Chumley wrecked the old 97 after it crashed. They got what they deserved as a result of their mishap.
The wreck of the ole 97. Johnny Cash should record a song about that!

The kids of the past 30 to 40 years don't know how good we had it
I love Sesame Street, and Schoolhouse Rock

This is my favorite Episode!
Duh brakes, brakes, what brakes duh I don't see any brakes. Famous last words by Chumley before the train crashes.
Too bad they don't make cartoons like this anymore, entertaining and educational courtesy of the Professor!
(9:52) Stanley's going mad with power!
(10:00) As Hank Hill said, "Stop making train noises; it's not funny!"
What if this was what the Flying Kipper wreck was? Just Henry hitting a open switch at high speeds?
As seen on “Cartoon Cut-Ups” and the “Underdog Show”.

We know that Tennessee Tuxedo always says, “Tennessee Tuxedo will NOT fail,” but he seems to be wrong about that every time he has said it!
Most of the time that’s true
There are a few times he doesn’t fail

The Brookfield Zoo, near where I live, used to have a train going around the zoo. Unfortunately it was taken out decades ago.
What’s that got to do with this cartoon?
@@tommyguns9008 Because this cartoon also features such a train?
That was a good one , that one 😂
Don Adams!
After Tennessee Tuxedo,He was on Scooby Doo at the Movies & then later Inspector Gadget.
Don't forget his Screen Test Program which ran in Syndication during the 1975-76 TV Season.
Don't forget "Check it Out".A mid to late 1980's Sitcom.
I didn't know that Stanley saved the locomotive hauling the Old 97
Geez Tennessee what a wreck
As Seen on The Underdog Show
I guess in 2024, an iPad qualifies as a three-dimensional blackboard.
February 22, 1964.
I thought stanley was trying to catch a train, not get caught by it!

1 quart of water makes hundreds of quarts of steam?
Man, I love liquid physics.
I’d play sick from elementary school just to watch these types of cartoons. More educational.

I bet Mr Whoopee realized that head zookeeper was also the voice of Klondike Kat , so he was clearly an imposter anyway
@@garycondon7719 Or also, since "Testers" & "Lamplighters" were earlier in the series, maybe the characters just hadn't developed that far yet.
Pioneers in a "troublesome duo" ...like The Blues Brothers or Beavis & Butthead.

At 9:23 Tennessee and Chumley are high as fuck.
More like an LSD bad trip.
Wow, Stanley is a jerk.
