The c cp was supposed to take over by now but it all fell apart 😜 Ol' epstein gettin' done probably had somethin' to do with it 🤣👍 He had a relo called israel epstein in the c cp 🤔
@@TonyMarselle I’m 32 and I remember seeing Ellis MC a DC demo with a megaphone when I was 13. We also used to quote his cameo in Bam’s movie Haggard all the time in high school. Just because you don’t remember Ellis before this podcast doesn’t mean we all did
LOVE LOVE LOVE this episode!!!!! As an old dude, it's a walk down Adolescent Avenue!!!! Thank you guys so much for just being great! My Mondays don't suck anymore because I get to wake up and get my HvW fix first thing!!!!
The way Tony sits is so skater /creator- I’m so happy that Tony Hawk is still a part of our lives - I was just a few years behind and bones brigade guys were our cult leaders ❤
The most striking thing about Weird Al is how NOT weird he comes across. In fact, he seems kindly, unassuming, and lovely--not at all like his satire. Tony and Jason bring out interesting details about Al with their questions and humorously guided discussion. We all loved this.
Barry Hansen (Dr Demento) really was rooted in his Warner Brothers gig in late 60s early 70s where he put together the Loss Leader compliations to market to the teens - showed his flair to choose more oddball stuff with 'appeal' .
I managed to forget weird al did paradoy music... Because as a child i was OBSESSED with his original: Albuquerque Me and both my siblings could quote it word for word start to finish... I've legitimately listen to that song no less than 200 times
The Weird Al show I went to, about 5 years ago, was legitimately one of the best shows I've seen! Also, he was so kind to my friend and I even though we were far back in the meet and greet line after his second show of the day!
I live in Indy and we had a High School trip to Kinds Island in Cincinnati. This had to be 1995-97, and as a total surprise Weird Al was performing LIVE that night at Kings Island. It was so Awesome. Full fat suit for Eat It… it was Awesome!!
Fantastic episode! Best yet imo. Also, fun fact - the movie UHF was called The Vidiot From UHF in Australia. And Jason seriously needs to watch it. I quote it almost weekly, if not daily.
I had a Dr Demento VHS when I was little. It had “Fish Heads” and “The Homecoming Queens got a Gun” and about 20 other bizarro songs on it. Id love to find that comp again.
Dope episode. I'm still waiting for Christian Slater. It would be dope to see more people from 80's movies on here. Movies like Rad, BMX Bandits, Gleaming The Cube and Thrashin. Would be cool to hear some of their stories.
As a younger person who isn't so connected to those times but still knows those movies, I really would like to see more of what was behind those movies and what it was like to see their influence
One of the best shows I’ve ever been to was weird Al at the amphitheater in Nashville with an orchestra only think come close to that awesome was Tenacious D at the Ryman in Nashville, but he put on the amazing show drove the Segway for the Amish outfit. looks like a lot of work, thanks weirdo you’re awesome and Jason is funny in this episode as usual
I’m not gonna lie, a trick tutorial, how to with Tony, and Jason needs to be made ASAP! Start with the basic fundamentals of grabs and work into flip trick grab tricks. I’ve watched your trick tips for the past 19 years, and I can just never get enough. ❤❤❤
Awesome show. Could really tell tony was excited for this one. Listened on drive home from work and wanted to comment. Weird al is so cool just being himself which is why hes been cool for so long. Jason with some good questions too
The first song I ever heard of his was Eat It. It came out when I was in about the 5th Grade or something. I got into skateboarding around the 7th Grade but didn’t really find out who the pros and skateboarding as a sport until almost the 8th grade, so that’s when I found out about Tony Hawk and then saw him and the rest of the pros at Expo 86 in Vancouver, BC, summer of 1986.
Bro. You guys have some of the best guests. Good job on pulling this one. Brings back my 90s childhood all day. Also, speaking of the 90s, they finally got Tupacs killer.
Why are your advertisements some of my favorite moments? I think I would be happy if All advertisements were performed by Jason Ellis and Tony Hawk from this point on. 😂😂😂 I’m a bit late but your show is awesome. I’m hooked. Thanks guys!!!
I love seeing people like Al, who are Tony’s level of their own craft, on here. And Jason really asks the questions I wanna hear asked, but doubt that Tony would ask on his own ❤😂 PS: Jason, Luis is going to annihilate Butterly. So don’t hurt him to bad when you’re called up to show him what’s up! 🤣
love the episode. weird al is a legend and i know some stuff he made back in the day and im from the freaking sticks of austria, so hes worldwide for sure. loved the interview, thx you guys. big fam of the podcast ❤
My late uncle used to be run an 24-hr club in Chicago that he always told the story of when they "kidnapped" Weird Al... As a kid and teenager I never believed it, until at his wake we saw all of the pictures and stories from others to back it up.
I've binged most of these podcasts and Tony has honestly became a good interviewer. Jason, not so much but he is hilarious and both of them interview well together as a team.
Why isn't Weird Al in the games as a guest character yet? Regarding reactions by those parodied by Al, he _technically_ isn't obliged to seek permission from the artists and/or record label, but he still does so regardless out of principle and to avert any misunderstanding. Yankovic was going to parody "Live And Let Die" as "Chicken Pot Pie" but Paul McCartney objected due to him being vegetarian.
Been a little absent but it's just because I'm waiting for a good time to binge watch all these BANGERS! Love the content so so much, yall gotta break the 500K views barrier❤❤
I'm usually more into just Tony and Jason hanging out but this one kinda put some things together and was very entertaining and enlightening and I'm curious if Al likes run on sentences and if he already answered that in Word Crimes.
I never had time for spoofs of any sort. It’s just never been to my comedic taste. So like I’ll never choose to listen to Weird Al, but I would hang out with him. I respect the dude and would not disparage him.
Gangsters paradise and White and Nerdy were so good, I grew up with those and Weird Al ALWAYS been cool for my generation, 25-35 age. Quoting him, singing the songs more than the original at times. White and Nerdy was way more famous than the original.
Weird Al is the public music teacher, we never knew we needed 😊 it was so great to see Tony geek out so hard 😄
How is my childhood circling back!? What is happening?! Weird Al with Tony and Jason?!
The c cp was supposed to take over by now but it all fell apart 😜
Ol' epstein gettin' done probably had somethin' to do with it 🤣👍
He had a relo called israel epstein in the c cp 🤔
Yeah 14 year old me is fkn stoked right now
Shot out weird al, one of the craziest, silliest human beings ever. Weird al -GOAT
Don’t act like you knew who Jason was when you were a kid. Like three people did back then.
@@TonyMarselle I’m 32 and I remember seeing Ellis MC a DC demo with a megaphone when I was 13. We also used to quote his cameo in Bam’s movie Haggard all the time in high school. Just because you don’t remember Ellis before this podcast doesn’t mean we all did
Anyone who hasnt heard Al's song " Hardware Store" drop what you're doing and go listen. That man can spit bars
I love how Tony went full Chris Farley on Weird Al. "Do you remember that time you took that nap?"
2 of my favorite influences in one sitting, cant wait for the Tom Green episode
As a 501st Legion member who has shared the stage with Al, I can confirm he is as kind and awesome in person as he appears on this episode!
That's awesome! I could totally see that
This is my all time favorite episode thank you guys for being awesome!
Somehow instead of "how did this happen?" My first thought was "how has this not already happened?!". I can totally see you all hanging out together 🤣
They where 2 of the biggest stars in the 90s. I'm sure they crossed paths and know each other
I wrote before watching....lol...3 minutes in
I love the non skater guest and its still the hawk and wolf vibe.
Diversify without selling out. Keep it up
LOVE LOVE LOVE this episode!!!!! As an old dude, it's a walk down Adolescent Avenue!!!! Thank you guys so much for just being great! My Mondays don't suck anymore because I get to wake up and get my HvW fix first thing!!!!
3 extremely genuine and wholesome folks. Love it.
Al needs to start his own label just for stand up and comedy music. The industry needs more people like him.
Weird Al is such a legend. So glad he was part of my years growing up!
It's really cool to see a megastar like Tony Hawk fanboying out. Awesome episode.
I see Weird AL, I watch. You guys get some guests that I just do not expect, and it is awesome.
The way Tony sits is so skater /creator- I’m so happy that Tony Hawk is still a part of our lives - I was just a few years behind and bones brigade guys were our cult leaders ❤

I didn't know I wanted this. Thank you.
Me either but it worked.
Chamillionaire liked White and Nerdy so much he was the one that leaked that Al was doing the song on his Myspace page.
I saw weird al perform in my little town a few years ago. It was such a pleasure! And my lame claim to fame is that we made eye contact!
Nice! 😀😂
My first concert was Weird Al in 2007
Lame claim to fame lol
His band is filled with incredibly talented musicians
FUCK YES. Now this is the caliber of guest I'm here for
I got happy after seeing the thumbnail, because Evan Smith is one of my favorite skaters.
Mate 😂 so true
Barry Hansen (Dr Demento) really was rooted in his Warner Brothers gig in late 60s early 70s where he put together the Loss Leader compliations to market to the teens - showed his flair to choose more oddball stuff with 'appeal' .
My dad showed me his song dead puppies as a kid and it’s still one of my favorites to this day 😂
I managed to forget weird al did paradoy music...
Because as a child i was OBSESSED with his original: Albuquerque
Me and both my siblings could quote it word for word start to finish...
I've legitimately listen to that song no less than 200 times
Tony Hawk and Weird Al together, young me would never believe it would be a thing ever
This is excellent! Totally listened to Dr Demento on the clock-radio in my room every week. My first tape was In 3-D! I still have it.
The Weird Al show I went to, about 5 years ago, was legitimately one of the best shows I've seen! Also, he was so kind to my friend and I even though we were far back in the meet and greet line after his second show of the day!
Jason going off about Tony being a stalker had me snorting laughing. Thanks guys.
I live in Indy and we had a High School trip to Kinds Island in Cincinnati. This had to be 1995-97, and as a total surprise Weird Al was performing LIVE that night at Kings Island. It was so Awesome. Full fat suit for Eat It… it was Awesome!!
My sisters band opened for him. They told me Al was such a cool and nice guy to be around. So cool
Fantastic episode! Best yet imo. Also, fun fact - the movie UHF was called The Vidiot From UHF in Australia. And Jason seriously needs to watch it. I quote it almost weekly, if not daily.
SOMEONE GETS A DRINK FROM THE FIRE HOSE!!
I had a Dr Demento VHS when I was little. It had “Fish Heads” and “The Homecoming Queens got a Gun” and about 20 other bizarro songs on it. Id love to find that comp again.

That would be RAD!
Criminally underrated viewership on this one! Weird Al may not be popular now but damn was he iconic back in our day.
My mom bought me the Weird Al greatest hits cassette tape for my birthday and we listened to that sucker front and back 100 times in the car

“One time I got beat up in the Cricket Nets for the entire Lunch Period” the most Australian thing Ellis has ever said
The audience reacting to Al playing Amish Paradise is Lancaster PA is one of the loudest sounds you will ever hear
I've seen a lot of Weird Al interviews and this is one of the best!
The van patten shot is pure genius. Never forget that..
Weird Al was the first live performance I remember seeing. At the local county fair, what an amazing guy.
You were the soundtrack of my childhood 🤘
Awesome show. Could really tell tony was excited for this one. Listened on drive home from work and wanted to comment. Weird al is so cool just being himself which is why hes been cool for so long. Jason with some good questions too
The guests you guys keep getting for this are so legendary!
When you guys started doing the commercial I had to stop and blaze one to another One Rides the Bus.
Amazing guest! Love it!
I’ve seen many weird Al’s interview and I must say that this one was pretty cool. Lot of news things came out of this 👍👍👍
Weird Al introduced me to music. He helped remind me not to take life so seriously alm the time.
so many comedians i love would not exist if not for this absolute legend
The first song I ever heard of his was Eat It. It came out when I was in about the 5th Grade or something. I just discovered this podcast. Absolutely love this!
Was always watching this pod but jason kills it for me for some reason
Thank you for that! It made my day! ❤
Bro. You guys have some of the best guests. Good job on pulling this one. Brings back my 90s childhood all day. Also, speaking of the 90s, they finally got Tupacs killer.
This is the episode I always wanted but never knew until right now.
Why are your advertisements some of my favorite moments? I think I would be happy if All advertisements were performed by Jason Ellis and Tony Hawk from this point on. 😂😂😂 I’m a bit late but your show is awesome. I’m hooked. Thanks guys!!!
whats this i see, new video and with weird Al!!!!!
I love seeing people like Al, who are Tony’s level of their own craft, on here. Luis is gonna be calling Butterly Dad
Jason's ad reads are 😂
Not too familiar with Weird Al & his work but really had a great time taking all of this in
love the episode. weird al is a legend and i know some stuff he made back in the day and im from the freaking sticks of austria, so hes worldwide for sure.
loved the interview, thx you guys.
big fam of the podcast ❤
My late uncle used to be run an 24-hr club in Chicago that he always told the story of when they "kidnapped" Weird Al... As a kid and teenager I never believed it, until at his wake we saw all of the pictures and stories from others to back it up.
Holy smokes, top tier guest!!!! ❤❤❤
what a lovely combination of human beings. prob. the best ep of this podcast so far.
I've binged most of these podcasts and Tony has honestly became a good interviewer. Jason, not so much but he is hilarious and both of them interview well together as a team.
This is soo perfect, I used to play pro skater listening to Weird Al.
Tony geekin over weird al is something I did not think I'd see today lmao
Al needs to do another album.... I don't think he understand how much people miss that.
I think he should at least do one more EP. Just one relevant parody and a few style parodies, or even maybe parodies of classic songs
Tony and Weird Al is a perfect combo
26:58 is the exact moment Jason realizes that he doesn't know who Weird Al is...
GREAT EPISODE GUYS! ❤ I grew up on Weird Al, always loved his stuff and heck I heard “Gangster’s Paradise” because of his parody!
Been a little absent but it's just because I'm waiting for a good time to binge watch all these BANGERS! Love the content so so much, yall gotta break the 500K views barrier❤❤
My mom has a Polaroid photo of her and Weird AL at the nightclub she managed in the 80's Named Club Metro in Riverside,California
the only person weird al has never interviewed was his younger self... but that would be too weird!
I freakn was loving this episode. . It's great
Great interview, especially the second half
“Aren’t you colourful “ mic drop Al!😂
I'm usually more into just Tony and Jason hanging out but this one kinda put some things together and was very entertaining and enlightening and I'm curious if Al likes run on sentences and if he already answered that in Word Crimes.
Good interview!
Excellent questions, Jason!
This conversation is super funny! Great job everyone! 🤠🤙
you guys are fuckin top tier rad. Weird Al is legendary. I cant believe this episode is a thing and im SO FUCKIN STOKED!
Weird Al is a gem.
This was on par with how funny the Seth Rogen episode was 😂 congrats on 100k subs
Weird Al is awesome! Tony hawk is a great interviewer, al is clearly a really cool chill dude like tony
why is it that all the pods come out on the day i wanna be the most productive?
I will always love Weird Al.
Weird Al has had more of an influence on my own personal comedy than any comedian.
I never had time for spoofs of any sort. It’s just never been to my comedic taste. So like I’ll never choose to listen to Weird Al, but I would hang out with him. I respect the dude and would not disparage him.
Awesome interview! So fun! Also, all chaps are assless :)
Weird Al is da man.
hunter s thompson invented gonzo journalism, al yankovic invented gonzo music.
Wow, it's like a Gen X dream. Did we all die and this is heaven? I'll take it!
No lie, Dread Zeppelin was my introduction to Led Zeppelin, so I relate to the gateway comment 😅
Jason managed to out colour Weird Al. Fucking legend.
Great interview!
My first album was Even Worse. My brother gave it to me. I remember thinking the guy on the cover looked so tough 😅 (I was 8)
Gangsters paradise and White and Nerdy were so good, I grew up with those and Weird Al ALWAYS been cool for my generation, 25-35 age. Quoting him, singing the songs more than the original at times. White and Nerdy was way more famous than the original.
straight outta lynwood is a classic
