Another trackside adventure is in the books as we head into February during this anticipated busy year. We made a stop in West Chicago along the UP Geneva Subdivision and the CN Leighton Subdivision on one cold Tuesday. Our day started off busy during the morning rush hour but it certainly didn’t take look for the freight trains to start showing up. It was busy up to the very end so the action was very constant for most of the day. Overall, another productive day for our crew as we look ahead for our next one coming up. Stay tuned!

Is West Chicago good for evening rush?
Based on my previous experiences during evening rush at West Chicago, I say it's good for evening rush because there's still good chance(s) you'll still see some freight action. -Andrew Mangalindan

Thank you for an action-packed video of railfanning at West Chicago, Illinois on 30 January 2024, Andrew! All the trains were interesting to watch. I agree with your pick of the Highlight of the Day. The two manifest trains running parallel to each other were a great visual. The train closest to us had many flat cars with John Deere tractors. I wonder if the John Deere tractors were for domestic dealers out east or if they were for export.

@@Eddy1969 West Chicago will be busy no matter what day you go. But likely weekday would be much busier than weekend(s).
