We have another video that covers RSOP. This is used to see what settings have been applied and you can also test other configuration changes to see what the effect may be before you make the changes to Group Policy.
No worries not a problem, thank you for clearing that up. I'll have to watch the video again! I've had a lot of different subjects to learn with my study so it's hard sometimes to remember finite things like this. Cheers.
My mistake. It is covered in this video. When you right click on Group Policy results it will give you the option to run Group Policy Results Wizard. If you want to run it by itself you can run MMC and add it.
On one of the clients that is not working, run gpresult to make sure group policy is applied. If the clients are on a different site, perhaps the problem is this the replication to that site. Also Resultant Set of Policy to see what is been applied. perhaps another group policy is overriding your setting or a group is having an effect on it.
Sometimes information about the event ID will not appear. So when this occurs you may need to google the ID number to find the answer. If they are multiple event ID with the same number, include more information about the category and other details to find the answer.
Oh ok thanks for that. I had a look and I can't seem to find the other video on RSOP that you have mentioned perhaps you could please direct me to the correct location? Thanks.
Hi I have a question. I have noticed that there's actually a fourth tool for checking the Resultant Set of Policy. It's a snap-in for MMC called Resultant Set of Policy. Where, why and how does this fit in when using the other mentioned RSoP tools? And would you even need to use it? Thanks.
