I am a biased Angel, there is never any uphill battle when it comes to Angelina. I prefer Angelina because Angelina has a much richer tone and she tells a much better story. She can paint a song with her voice which no one can. ❤❤❤❤❤
I 've never heard a female singer who could go into the stratosphere in a Whitney Houston song, then switch gears totally and perfor the gospel classic 'How Great Thou Art' in a sustained low, low register for longer intervals than Elvis did. It's simply mind boggling.
Fabulous reaction to our beautiful barefoot princess Angelina. I totally agree that this was done in the lower key, which is most acceptable considering that doing it in Whitney's key takes a higher vocal track to actually carry those insane high notes. But Angelina did make this song her own stayed true to herself. Stayed true to the original artist. Whitney Houston, whom Angelina adores. Angelina gave this song. Such a different but soulful deep meaningful performance. Also remember both of you. Angelina was only 16 years old recording this and when Whitney recorded this song she was a little bit older at 29 years old ! I'd say this was a phenomenal rendition and a great tribute to one of Angelina's mentors ! I want to thank you both for your most heartfelt and wonderful comments. Keep posting both of you. Regarding the key..wh sang it in g major 7 and later dropped it to e major 7.. 3 half tones lower..Angelina sang it as a young 13 -15 yr old in the original G M7. And had dropped it down as Whitney did to e major 7.
Angelina isn’t trying to mimic Houston Angelina is putting her own take on the song, yes she is singing in a lower key to the original which suits Angelina better, what’s the point in copying an original song, Angelina is the master of arranging songs intact she doesn’t sing covers Angelina upgrades covers,I attended Angelina’s live concerts in Las Vegas on the 29th February, her stage presence was incredible her live performance phenomenal, Angelina was so excited to be on the same stage as Elvis performed on, great reaction thanks 🙏
Just a little info: l listened to Christina Aguilara at 13, singing " l have Nothing", on the Mickey Mouse Club and then listed to Angelina at 13 sing this as well. She kicked Christina's ass! She didn't hit the last octave the same on this performance, but she was 16, Whitney was 29 when she performed this. Angelina is rooted in Jazz. Whitney produced a strictly tonality based album without the belts, and it flopped. Angelina is now 18, and her power has increased exponentially. I sincerely believe she will, in her adulthood, exceed Whitney. Thank you for the reaction. We all have our biases. They don't even have to logically make sense. I never liked this song until 12/13 yo AJ did it and it had to grow on me. Way back when Whitney did it, I was more interested in metal. It was such a big song that I heard it a lot anyway. The main thing I didn't like is too much power in the voice. I had the same issue with Shirley Bassey. AJ has the power but it doesn't get unleashed very often. Aj turned a song I didn't really like into one I want to hear. As a side benefit, I appreciate Whitney more these days.

Not sure if it’s true or not but some have said that in live performances Whitney lowered the key.
