    Your chilli plants and pepper plants look great they should flourish in that position. Your question of the day I was thinking Nasturtiums? but not 100% sure. Enjoy your weekend and the sunshine take care Louise X

    Lovely video, Gem! I was nervous when I saw the wind and your mini polytunnel. To answer your question of the day, I vote interplanting marigolds with your peppers. Great progress! Can't wait to see how you get on this season!

    Lovely update Gemma, it must have felt great to plant out your peppers and chilies 😊 Lovely to have a bit of sun isn't it, I thought it would never happen! I'm not sure what to suggest as an interplant as it needs to be something heat loving doesn't it, maybe basil? Take care 😊

  • @ndcoxhead
    @ndcoxhead 6 месяцев назад +3

    Did you know you aren’t suppose to plant chilly and pepper next to each other? Apparently when a bee fly from one plant to another, it could happen that a pepper gets really hot. I always plant them next to each other but I wouldn’t notice because I always eat hot anyway. 😜

    • @GemInTheGarden
      @GemInTheGarden  6 месяцев назад

    Love the mini Poly Tunnel! was thinking of doing a similar thing but was concerned about Insects getting in to pollinate? (Newbie Question)

    • @GemInTheGarden
      @GemInTheGarden  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey ☺️ there are 2 supports either side of the tunnel to hold it open for pollinators 👍👍👍

    What is the sun thing, almost forgotten what it is up here in the northeast, Funny the difficulty ( guilt feeling) in pruning plants , i was sorting out some peas, had 2 in some of the pots , split them the small ones i was going to bin, but i just couldnt lol so there in another pot bringing them on..........Random question if you use compost from the likes of B and q , are you finding the compost seems to have lots of small chunks of wood, a few brands ive had all seem to be the same...........I think you were potentially going to try the Aldi (enriched) compost ....that hasnt been t bad for chunks of wood

    • @GemInTheGarden
      @GemInTheGarden  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi John 👋 hee hee I didnt think we would see the sun at all this year 😅 when I first got the plot I used tge B and Q compost, some bags were fine but others were really poor quality and had all sorts in. I now use a mix of farmyard manure (shop brought) and John Innes along with home made. I have heard good things about the Aldi one so will try that too 👍

    Lovely video Gemma. Danny has a string system on his mini polytunnel so it doesn't chop you. I'm trying to keep getting things out for exactly the same reason . Don't want to be overwhelmed.
