Its very simple. Like pollini and Eric - this piece must be played ON TIME without changing speed when you feel like it , and the notes must be ALMOST legato but not quite, and there must be crescendo. This pianist does all three things and is probably using the right technique in her right hand.

Wondeful how she plays the melody in left hand ! Wish she had given the fcg arpeggio down staccatto like so many pianists do at end

Georgeous! How can these udges hear better shaped ,better legato ,better pedalling and voicing than what is heard here. A lifetime of piano study and still much remains a mystery to me. Pollini sounds like Pollini and I have more than a dozen other cds and recordings of this music. Lourie and countless others make great music .the more subective( a big nono in classical music ) the more I remember the performance .So they all play perfectly .Musically and note perfect .To hear great music takes great learning - few of us ever know the limits of this.Brendel or Backhaus Us - little ears will never know the demarcations.Older recordings have a sound as do better pianos .Brendel's personality is very edgy very different from Backhaus but I defy fe w to be able to tell the difference of a Chopin etude played at these competitions from another players. I guess it's just me .

She has everything. It s a shame that judges weren’t able to understate her music. She makes music is not a robot and has amazing colors on her playing. At least she deserved to go to the finals, I don’t understand

Sometimes those mistakes don’t really matter, but the music does, that’s the most important thing. What does it matter to play all the right notes and don’t make music?!

It was written in a Japanese music magazine that she had a broken right wrist bone during this performance.

@@NN-yn4fh complete and utter bullshit lol. she has likely played this 1000s of times in preparation, her wrists are fine
