Everything with Rowan Atkinson in it is worth watching.
correct
Yep, even Maigret which was a foray into more serious acting was great. I just wish it wasn't so short lived.
@@Sara_Kane I've seen episode 1 of 4 *"Maigret Sets a Trap,"* and it bored me.
I'd give it a 6/10 maximum.
@@danielgardecki1046 I can definitely see how that show is a very aqquired taste, but I loved it.
@@danielgardecki1046 He's not as good at dramatic acting, but he's a comedy genius.
I always loved ‘The thin blue line’. Sadly underrated and only two series made. I can still remember talking about it the next day at school!
epic show that i'm happy to have watched :)
I live in Ingushetia and I have no idea how I dug it up on the Internet and when, but since then I know by heart all the episodes of both seasons. The episode in which Raymond is shy to talk about "female machine" almost killed me with humor. This series and the films of Louis de Funes save me in the most difficult times))
Rudolph Walker who played Constable Frank Gladstone was in a sitcom in the 70’s called Love Thy Neighbour. He played the character Bill Reynolds who was from the West Indies, he and his wife moved into a house next door to a white couple. It involved the two men trying to get the better of each other and was very racist and would not get onto television nowadays. All the episodes are on RUclips.
Exist on fizzy drinks and crisps shudder 2 think of the state of ur bowel...haha classic
I bought the entire 2 series on DVD when they were released. I watch them every now and then and they never get old or fail to make me laugh.
Same here. I still own it, even though I watch most things digitally these days.
Great you are reacting to this underrated sitcom.
Incidentally, there isn't any scenes post credits in any of the episodes far as I'm aware
habit of mines to check will probably still check lol
'I've got a couple of videos out'. Blimey, that dates it!.
If you don’t work in uniform there’s always the costume shop 😂
I’m so glad you like the gentle comedies. They are such a pleasant way to spend half an hour or so. I love Grimm in this. I love the way that they think American policing is all Miami vice and high volocity action and then Brit crime is so pedestrian and dull. It’s almost like they are begging for worse crimes to look cool and make it worth it haha
A chocolate hobnob is a British biscuit 🍪 (cookie), this is one of my all-time favourite shows.
Yes I have eaten them and they rock😁
"Constable Goody...if I'd wanted a dead halibut for a colleague..." 😂 Fowler's description of the tikka masala/rogan josh is so funny (trying to get out of eating Dawkins' warmed up stew), but also makes me hungry. I think I'll order one for tonight's dinner. hehe It's great that you're loving the series, and will be reacting to every episode. It's classic stuff! :)
Just want to say you and taffe316 are the best American reacts
Because although you react to clips you also watch full shows and series like taffe
Sometimes you need to watch a whole show and series to fully appreciate some of these clips especially only fools and horses
Also he doesn't pause every five seconds and then not get the joke because of it. I've seen a few American reaction channels doing that.
Am I the only one who got a real hankering for stew after watching this episode?
@JL Shaw Damn I haven't watched Frost in years. I need to get one on tonight and order a curry!
@JL Shaw I love A Touch Of Frost. Just about everything David Jason has been in has been gold, including animated shows like Duckula, Dangermouse, and Wind In Willows.
When the two detectives are in the car and asking if they want to do anything for each other, the young one said "Give her one..?", which does mean what you thought!! ;-P
Thin Blue Line is one of those forgotten gems, I think I've one seen it through once when it was originally shown on TV. There's so many really good comedy shows that aired during the 90's!
Def a lot of wonderful shows out in general. Hoping to explore as many as I can 😁😁
*Yezzan zo Qaggaz* the richest slave trader, and the only person out of 3 slave traders to survive being killed by Drogon in *Game of Thrones,* is played by *Enzo Cilenti* from my city *Bradford.*
There's also vicar of Dibley, father Ted, my family , and car share. Good shows. Recommendations to a true Anglophile such as yourself :)
Lol I say "fannying about"
Grim says it so well lol 😂
@@bxkid7 he says it properly too lol I drop the G fannyin
I reckon that there were so many people in Game of Thrones that the law of averages says there is going to be at least one of its cast members in just about any show you can think of!
The comedy timing in this is pretty on point
Two GOT actors in this episode. Keep watching, cos at least another two more crop up later on - one of them becomes a series regular.
Thin blue line
Brilliant
The chap that played the commander was one of the Slitheen in Christopher Ecclestone’s era of Doctor Who. He has been in quite a few things with Rowan Atkinson & Game Of Thrones I believe.
It's worth mentioning that Rowan Atkinson was brilliant as the, (very serious), French detective Maigret in the tv series.
I loved Maigret, it sucks it was cancelled after just 4 episodes.
@@Sara_Kane You're right Sara, it was so well done and no expense spared.
I just noticed Ben Elton wrote this show, which kinda surprised me, I remember he used to do stand up on a show in the 80's & 90's, called Saturday Live, and I never found his stand up comedy funny, maybe it's because I was too young to understand it, but even over the years, I dont really find him funny, but he *is* good at writing comedy for actors.
I loved that twist with the fireman, I clicked when he said Kevin looked good in his uniform 😂
I'm not into uniforms, I prefer trackies or jeans lol.
I also loved the Police Academy films, but I think that's another thing that I didn't understand some of the jokes at the time.
Loving this show Kid. Thanks. 🤗💛
Same way something's I watched when I was younger that if I went back to it I'm sure I'd understand more now hahha
Ben Elton wrote a lot of comedy scripts for very popular shows in the 80's and 90's. His standup wasn't as good as the stuff that he wrote.
The police chief you recognised was Rupert Vansittart who played Yohn Royce, the Master of Arms at The Vale in GoT, and the guy who said "I think not" to Littlefinger before he was executed.
yessir!
I'm pretty sure he was the escaped mental patient in ofah, when they go to Cornwall fishing x as well
What a chad legend that fireman was
Love it, watched it when it was first on tv, great to see it again, there are so e classic lines in there.
The Writing is on par with Frasier… or even better
Thin Blue Line is so much fun. The Lucan reference here inspired me to mention that on Britcoms - especially older ones - Lord Lucan, Ronnie Biggs (Great Train Robbery), Shergar etc etc are very often referenced and are worth looking up. Lord Lucan is sort of like saying "Jimmy Hoffa". The Lucan story is fascinating - there are several documentaries on RUclips.
The IT Crowd is a great show, I watched it again last week and some of the episodes make me laugh till I can’t get my breath
Glad you enjoyed the it crowd show 😁
Yes, well worth watching.
Love the Thin Blue Line. Esp Inspector Grim
funny episode. cottage cheese merchant lol.
If you want a cop comedy show, Scot Squad is a shoutout, Scottish comedy revolving around Police officers
Yay, love this show. Great reaction, can't wait for the next one😁
All the best. Ty
Everyone was in Game of thrones. Even me, I played a throne in Game of Thrones. The love triangle should of got drunk in a dark room and 🙈🙉🙊👾👾👾🤖
i was in it as well.
@@bxkid7 Knew I'd seen you somewhere before !.
Lovey stew.
19:42 haha same
Love it..Thank You. 😄
You earned a new subscriber with this :) glad to find someone reacting to this great show :) keep these coming :) can I also recommend you react to Gimme Gimme Gimme, its another brilliant show featuring the actor who plays constable goody (james dreyfus) and i don't think another youtuber has reacted to them yet, the first two series are on RUclips :)
A RUclipsr called Taffe316 has reacted to a few Gimme Gimme Gimme episodes
@@garethaskew-hargreaves6549 I have seen, I just wanted to give him more incentive to do them 😆
Huh. I just spotted Joy Brook as the non speaking CID woman in this episode. She was D.C. Kerry Holmes in the Bill for years.
Great episode lol. Hadnt seen it in over 20 years.
Picked another winner kid love this series.
Any chance you can reupload the episodes that aren't here? Great reactions btw
Has to be just one of the best
Not the strongest episode, but still a whole lot of fun.
Fun is good
The fireman is Ser Alliser?
Yeah he played that character as well in got
Could you react to This is England
I second that.
Awesome series,
you should check out gimmie ginmie gimmie - another you’ll enjoy 😉 all the best
LOL !! 😂
Check out Mrs. Brown's Boys. Has to be the best comedy worldwide.
Its on the channel. 😊
Brilliant!
Sorry staring Ronnie Corbett is a great series.
31:50 I remember him from OFAH.
cool
He was in Bad Education.
Neither of them have been in *OFAH.*
I suspect you're getting *Jim Broadbent* mixed up with *Rupert Vansittart.*
@@danielgardecki1046 I'm sure he was in S3E3.
I don't remember him being in 'Only fools and horses'.
I'm a sikh 😂
♥
I like a man in uniform 🥰😈
i never got into this show , operation good guys was way better imo
Thank you for your input.
