    -Ban just about every link monster it’s a flowed summoning mechanic
    - ban or restrict just about every card with multiple effects that can trigger at different points in the game
    - limit special summoning too 5 times per turn

      this video is about *saving* the game, not *ruining* it
      just play edison or smth, maybe even further back, dont ask for things that would guarantee the game's death. 5 summons? that would hurt non-meta significantly more than meta, just sayin

      @@ensamvarg8504 in order for the game to continue the game has to undergo a major change. Or else eventually every starter will be 1 card combo through hand traps. Power creep will eventually make the game unplayable or every engine will be end on the same effect end board but different archetypes. Which the games had already seen over and over again.

    This wont completely fix things but could help fix powerful cards being used outside their given archtypes- they need to errata a lot of generic extra deck monsters that are in archetypes, by adding in a required material from its given archetype or at the very least, make it restrictive to the associated attribute or creature type- example Red Dragon Archfiend, now reads as 1 tuner + 1 or more non tuner DARK monsters, and Borreload Savage Dragon could now read as - 1 tuner + 1 or more non tuner DARK DRAGON monsters, and cards like Accesscode Talker, can now say 2+ Cyberse Effect Monsters - It always bugged me seeing random archetype bosses splashed in where they shouldn't be, and it will help cards like Crystron Halqifibrax, from getting banned since it would now say either it requires 2 monsters, including a "Crystron" tuner, or Water Machine Tuner

    • @CorvusVT
      @CorvusVT  9 дней назад +1

      I really wish they would. As a general practice, Konami rarely seems to errata cards- and that leaves us with such an awkward situation where new cards can't even fix the current problems. Even if Konami releases strong new archetype-specific boss monsters, they'll forever be compared against generic staples so long as they remain in the metagame.

    • @rusmosquito9835
      @rusmosquito9835 7 дней назад

      @@CorvusVTI understand the perspective, but erratas are extremely confusing to new players., especially if they were to errata cards *regularly*.
      "What do you mean I can't play this deck anymore, the cards are legal!" etc etc, it's just bad marketing for players and collectors.
      They really just need to make retrains of ones that are "too powerful". Unfortunately fixing either of those issues would need a "million card banlist". So unless Konami turns over a new leaf, I doubt either would happen.

    No handtraps matter but shifter is a problem to you? Seems counterintuitive at least… shifter or droll n lock bird? In my opinion those are the strongest handtraps able to end a turn 1 on their own

    • @CorvusVT
      @CorvusVT  6 дней назад +1

      I may have expressed this poorly, but I actually agree! Cards like Shifter/droll are a lot more problematic because they're not 1-for-1 interactions. Instead, they leave lingering effects that make a certain axis of play impossible, which I don't think is healthy for a diverse metagame. Meanwhile, cards like Ash or Ghost Ogre deal with individual interactions, but still leave the opposing player open to extend further- and I think that's a lot healthier for the game!

    • @auranecropolis2848
      @auranecropolis2848 6 дней назад +1

      @@CorvusVT that’s exactly my point - if handtraps were all 1 for 1 trades we wouldn’t discuss this - ash ogre veiler etc need to hit a chokepoint to hurt the opponent while shifter or droll is devastating when it comes through. I often pick droll over ash because most time I ash my opponent plays through it because I don’t have the knowledge to anticipate his decks chokepoint. If on that same situation I droll then I don’t need to know about chokepoints etc pp I just resolve and forbid my opponent to search or draw which cuts his turn to a level I won’t fall asleep while my opponent plays his usual 15 min combo - of course he can start it but after 6 cards in hand are played there’s nothing to extend with leaving an unfinished board. In this case ash doesn’t get me the desired result but droll will

    • @CorvusVT
      @CorvusVT  6 дней назад +1

      I've had a lot of fun with Rush Duels- as someone who's been on and off with Duel Links, I think it distills a lot of what older YGO players like into a much more palatable form.
      Still, the fact that someone at Konami thought that barrier statues would be a good fit for the longevity of the format genuinely blows my mind. Even with infinite normal summons, turning off certain kinds of interaction seems wild to me.

    • @gab4198
      @gab4198 День назад

      rush duels have different rules and you get that but instead of draw until you have 5 cards in hand at the scart of each turn. Rush duels is a separate game made for those rules.
      In the main card game it would ruin the game completely, drawing 5 at the end of the turn would make going first even more broken because you have your full board + 5 cards so more chance to get handtraps on top of the board
      infinite normal summons also can't exist on TCG or OCG because the game comes from 25 years of balancing for 1 normal per turn, you could go full gas no brakes on most decks and overall, it would turn any deck into floowandereeze.

    If keeping tradition true to the original card game is what’s killing it, then since Master Duel is a mobile game, there is no reason for the developers can go in and disable or restrict certain effects of the most powerful cards in the game, instead of outright banning them. There are some cards that players can win after just one round of effects, so wonder if they can restrict them to activate only on the player’s turns, and disable cards with negate effects entirely.

      @@quietguyjosh4643 I can for sure tell you that a lot of what you want would make the game feel better but just to be sure: you want to limit every handtrap in every deck because it is so fair to have the rng to draw droll or shifter and activate this one off on your 1st turn? Meanwhile kuriboh is sniffling tearfully in the corner together with honest and all their little handtrap friends that never denied anyone their playstyle. Same thing for floodgates- there surely are warcriminals under them but that doesn’t mean a jinzo has to be banned. Example for a floodgate which could stay at 3 and still be fair: quiet life, prohibition, lair of darkness or zombieworld

    no idea why i expected reasonable takes in a comment section under a video with such a title in the first place, but man these takes arent just unreasonable, theyre delusional.
    video has *some* solid points, but still feels wrong. some things *are* straightup wrong. king calamity is literally banned in tcg, ocg, and master duel, where is blue eyes playing that thing?
    the thing i take the biggest issue with is probably the entire thing about generic cards: they make them generic for a reason. these cards are accessible to a wide variety of decks (in some cases, close to all the decks of all time), and konami clearly wanted them to be when creating the cards. they also get hit if they become too much of a problem, like you say. baronne, savage dragon, apollousa, beatrice. they seem to be hitting little knight over in the ocg. they keep adressing problematic generic cards, be that monsters or spell/traps, floodgates, bosses, degenerate combos, anything really. it takes time, but theyre doing it. just blaming them while downplaying the amount of hits they do hand out feels.. biased, i guess
    yeah, the game has many problems. youre free to mention them. but ignoring any positive changes while talking about those problems just feels biased.

    • @CorvusVT
      @CorvusVT  2 дня назад

      Yeah, the RDAKC mention came from the fact that i recorded this in August during the YCS, before the banlist. Video editing just got hit with a buncha delays after that. Probably should have made an extra segment to make it up to date.
      As for the changes? I'm of a mixed opinion. Problem cards do *eventually* get banned, sure. Though a lot of the time, it does feel like it's motivated by business decisions, rather than by actual gameplay. (Ie, let them stay in the meta and get purchased, stay problems for a long time, then ban them right before you release a new chase card) Would I give them credit for that? I'm not exactly eager to, especially when it seems so business-motivated at face value.

    12:22 Thank You for talking about this! This Issue with Generic Boss or Utility Monsters has been a Problem ever since 5Ds Yugioh! If you can Build it, you can Break the game with it! And We’ve reached a Point in the game where it has gotten Super Annoying!
    I Consider LINK Monsters to be the Bane of the Game’s Existence! Especially so when I look at D/D/Ds! And while Pendulum combo decks aren’t a Good example of Balance, I do like this Deck.
    The Problem comes, is when the an Archetype like that, that completely locks itself to its own members and Fiends alike. Isn’t able to Keep up with more Accessible Decks that use Cards like Borrel Load Savage Dragon! Or Access Code Talker, or ANY OF THE CARDs Mentioned!
    Which makes playing against them all the Worse! This Goes for Any Deck That doesn’t have a Solid way to defend itself! Decks like Crystal Beast Instantly got tossed aside After receiving A New Structure Deck, just for Jack Atlas to Swoop in with a New Structure that Completely Ruins the game!
    And then there’s Runicks…do I even need to address his BS a Series of Spells and Five Fusion Monsters really is?!
