OK Go is such a fun group. I love their videos and their imagination. Whether they are flying around in a plane, using a crazy Rube Goldberg machine or printer paper (yeah, printer paper - you need to see it), they have catchy tunes, visual... amazement and you end up smiling after watching. My wife and I would show the videos to our very young child and they would just watch, open mouthed (and quiet) as they goggled at the wild happenings. Thank you for reacting to them!
I just recently found out about this group and they are AMAZING!! My favorite is "I WON'T LET YOU DOWN". THE CHOREOGRAPHY IS STUNNING". It is my favorite song of theirs as well. Thanks for the reaction video.
Oh, and about the plane - it was a Russian aircraft (either with Roscosmos or the airline S7, sources weren't clear) over the course of 45 minutes of continuous parabolic arcs. For part of each arc, the conditions mimic weightlessness. I'm guessing the paint was used on the last arc :) Here in the US, the most famous version of this is NASA's Vomit Comet. And yeah, all of their videos are like this in that they boggle the mind.
They did multiple takes, including the paint. They had to hose down and clean the plane in-between, but didn't have time to wait for it to dry, which is why you see the acrobats sitting on magazines to avoid getting a huge wet patch on their backsides. In one take, splotches of paint hit the camera lens, obscuring the view and ruining the take.
OK Go just make the best music videos ever! And the thing is, the songs are good too. Pretty much all their videos will blow your mind, but I Won't Let You Down will probably have you thinking NFW! by the end.
Ok Go is all about the cohesive art. Every video matches every song and is its own unique experience. Literally only found you, because I was looking for people reacting to them ❤
I live a few miles from Notre Dame, but didn't hear about them shooting a vid with the Notre Dame Marching Irish until well after the fact. They all did great.
I just recently found out about this group and they are AMAZING!! My favorite is "I WON'T LET YOU DOWN". THE CHOREOGRAPHY IS STUNNING". It is my favorite song of there's as well. Thanks for the reaction video.
Never heard this band but if NittPicc posts a video I'm watching it. This video reminds me of movies dad had when I was a kid in the 70s of people playing in zero-g on Skylab. I'll have to listen again without the video to focus on the music. Thanks for the Friday Fun!
You should definitely check them out more. Like you said the music is nothing terribly incredible. It’s good, but their music videos are crazy. Here It Goes Again was one of their breakout videos and all it involved is 6 treadmills. Definitely worth checking out.
The way zero gravity works on a plane is they go up and then they drop. There are cuts in this video there has to be because you spend a lot less time going down than you do going back up. They hide the cuts so well
This is actually pretty typical of OK Go. It reminds me of their video for "Here it goes again". This band embraced corporations and sold music and services to LOTS of different commercial entities, and while some may say that is a bad thing, I think it not only gave them the money to produce things like this, but the know how and exposure to the marketing industry and the people in it, to understand how stuff like this is actually (well) made. The video is something I would watch several times and share with friends. The music itself as a stand alone ... it is kind of linear and simple. Would I put this music on in my car while I was driving down the road? Maybe not, but it does not make their videos any less enjoyable :) . It is simple catchy pop and really only serves the video ... nothing wrong with it but I would return for the visuals.
You should check all of these out, whether you actually post a reaction or not (Even though I would love to watch 😊) This Too Shall Pass (Rube Goldberg) The One Moment I Won't Let You Down Needing/Getting Obsession White Knuckles Here it Goes Again
This is flown on a KC-135, that NASA uses to train astronauts. The aircraft gives its occupants the sensation of weightlessness by following a parabolic flight path relative to the center of the Earth. While following this path, the aircraft and its payload are in free fall at certain points of its flight path. The aircraft is used in this way to demonstrate to astronauts what it is like to orbit the Earth. During this time the aircraft does not exert any ground reaction force on its contents, causing the sensation of weightlessness.
Late to your reaction but I really enjoyed it! If you want to see another incredible video by OK GO check out their hit THE ONE MOMENT in which a 4.2 second video is stretched out into four minutes (trust me it's very cool) ruclips.net/video/QvW61K2s0tA/видео.html

For some reason or another, this band popped back into my head and I’m so glad it did. I really do love the music and I love their creativity.

I enjoyed your reaction and all your purple color coordination.
OK GO makes really entertainming videos. You should watch 'This Too Shall Pass' video with the marching band (They did two videos for the song).
You said marching band and my ears immediately picked up. 👀👀👀
