I have to recognize that i watched the movie for Henry Cavill, but the story and dedication of Mr. Chips really moved me. Reminds me my mother, she was a teacher too.
Charming movie but remember that schools like this were only open to the ELITE of Society. Millions of working class people in Britain at this time were suffering under low wages and poor living conditions. These types of school no doubt produced excellently trained young men but at what cost to the thousands denied access to such an education?
....Well, these schools are still around. They didn't go away. (They've gone co-ed, for the most part, though.) Are you suggesting that because not everyone can enjoy an elite education, therefore no one should? Everything should be levelled down?

Looks like GK Chesterton at the end.
Varys from Game of Thrones was in this as well.
The.music played at the end is just stunning. As Mr chips passed away.
One of the most dramatic points
he looks like David Jason
