@@CajunAdrienne no, it's because people are either not from the U.S.A or obsessed with headphones, music apps, watching movies (yes some trucker MORONS do this), not the good drivers... but bad ones... a HUGE reason is many people DONT SPEAK ENGLISH ... yes I promise you it's real. I'll beep at drivers and hold up the cb mic and they shaje their head "no"... I don't lie. Many from the southern border language SPANISH to be exact, come into a shipper/receiver and hold up their phone to your face and you're expected to speak into their language interpretation app... it doht work very well. Welcome to the New World Order my friend.

I just put a galaxy 98 vhp in my truck and all I do with it is occasionally talk to locals in whatever area im driving in because drivers either dont talk or just dont have a CB.

It's great to hear the folks come outta the woodwork and turn their radios on for a road obstruction because My last couple trips up & down the Eastern US were pretty quiet on CB. This is a great Ride-Along video because it shows the CB in actual use, plus the video/audio quality is good... It's a shame that brainless folks turn-up on CB like the one who's rambling here but there's not much you can do about it. .I have noticed some truckers take their private chats over to CH 17 to avoid that drivel... A commenter here also mentioned "Ham Radio" and I'll say that it's not that hard to get a license these days and it will introduce You to another group of folks you can chat with in your travels, I keep both in the truck and they've both aided Me in finding help on the road.. Hams aren't anonymous so they'll typically sound more professional and will rarely be heard cussing, so it's a nice change from CB.

That's why I quit having one ! Tired of all the chatter and (we'll just say) "Crap Talk" ! But, they are Fun to listen to on occasion! I might even keep one for Emergencies! You know, when my Cell Phone is out, (Which actually happens more, then one might expect!) and my "Dedicated" Radio, ("Old School" Walkie Talkie!) is out! I'm also thinking this time around, might get a Tablet, or bring my old H.A.M. Mobile. If I can get it working again! The Switch inside went out a long time ago. It would let you switch from H.A.M. to Citizen's Band, to Short Wave Marine and one other! (Don't remember, Maybe PA?) My Dad got it, (Rest His Soul) years ago from Radio Shack, (Late 70's) worked great, till like the Mid 90's or so! Sometime like maybe 96/97 I want to say! We had a H.A.M. Base Station on the Farm, back in the 70's. CB Base till like the Mid 80's sometime! Anyway, Cool Video as always! Thanks for the Memories Bro! Take care an be safe out there! God Bless! :)

@@TumaTime H.A.M. helps in so many circumstances! Emergencies and Non-Emergencies alike! Short Wave or Short Wave Marine is great on Land an Sea! Anything with great AM Power (Amplitude Modulation) will travel great Distances w/o Interference! Just depends on the Atmosphere! It's why SOME, AM Radio Stations will Travel Halfway across the country, at night! Seriously! It's why even some CB Base Stations, with High AMP, will "Step on everyone" say in a Five Mile Radius or so! But will "Reach Out" sometimes (Again, AT Night!) up to 50 Miles or better! Especially if the antenna is a top a Hill, H.A.M. Stick, taller House or Barn or all of the above! Yeah, I used to see an hear, my Pops do some amazing things with ALL our Radios back in the 70's an early 80's! Don't know for sure with all the Interference (aka. "Noise) these days, what can be done today! But with a Good Strong Truck or Tractor Battery for Power! I'd imagine you might STILL Be able to do some things! It Might be More with H.A.M. and Short Wave. But I'd imagine with enough power and good CB Equipment, we could show some of these "Newbies" a thing or two!! lol! Anyway, take care my Friend! Stay safe out there! by the way, Love that Smoker of yours! Pretty nice! :)
