      What’s amazing about this is that we feel as excited to have met you! For those of you who don’t know Rachel, she was working her ass off at this bar until 3am or probably later and went home to sleep for a few short hours before waking up with her little boy. We appreciate you more then you know! Can’t wait to come back and play again!

    Regarding ice cream everyone who was good gets it however the misbehaving babe doesn't.
    They will crack it but by physically showing what happens when they dont listen and act up makes it stick in their mind. May have to do this a few times but always works.
    As you know you try to explain things to kids and it just washes away 20 minutes later.
    It's not fair to punish the rest of the family because of one misbehaving child ❤
    Love your family and asking for advice is wonderful because it really shows that you want to do the best for your family xxxx

    Hey Chris & Tiffani! Congratulations on your gig Chris! My children are grown but listening to you sounds so familiar. Remember this. You don’t reward bad behavior, it’s not ok to act that way at home or in public. He is definitely trying you to see what he can get away with. Tell him it’s unacceptable and what happens if he acts out. Follow through is the biggest thing. Stop and correct it immediately. Don’t wait 2 hrs later. Setting boundaries is very important. You don’t want your other children thinking it’s ok to act like that. Believe me you will make it through this just set your limits and stick to it. Every parent goes through something like this. Sounds like you guys are doing the right thing! You will never go wrong teaching your children respect of others. Good job!

    We had a trampoline for a long time til last summer. It even had the safety net.. But last year my daughter was jumping on it and fell through a part of the net and she broke 4 parts of her left leg. Her ankle, 2 places in her calf and one above her knee cap. We sold it after that and will never get another one.

  • @braymax
    @braymax 5 лет назад +1

    Trampolines are one of the items my home owners insurance forbade me from getting or I'd lose our insurance. Apparently they had too many home owner claims from friends and family getting hurt on them. Just FYI🙁😉 For kids I seriously suggest more chill time at home, my son was a hot mess until I pulled him out of all the activities and gave him time to breathe and figure out what his own passions were. I feel that over scheduled kids get tense and over anxious, wait until they ask to join things, it will come too soon, enjoy the play and snuggle time you get now. Congrats on your first gig Chris, looked like fun! Ps, I would have withheld ice cream too. Never make a threat you don't carry through & don't reward bad behavior.

    Hey girl, I have an almost 2 year old girl who also throws tantrums when she doesn't want to do something. Very independent little girl. What worked for us is, instead of time out, which did not work for her and only made it worse, I either calmly pick her up or get down on her level and say "look at mommy" I tell her first that we do not act that way and explain to her why we have to do or stop doing what she wants. I also say, "it's ok to get upset but you use your words, we do not hit and scream" and I found by talking to her, she calms right down and the unwanted behaviour stops. Look up "gentle parenting". It helped me so much!!!xo

  • @roseduke8271
    @roseduke8271 5 лет назад

    You both are awesome parents and I can totally see that you love your babies more than life itself. You're doing the right thing in teaching them at a very young age how to be little gentlemen. Don't be too hard on yourselves. I know that it literally hurts you more to discipline your children than it does them, but you will be so proud that you did. I love how much you love your babies and each other.
    P.S. I have to hear Chris sing. I got all pumped up and then didn't get to hear his voice so please have him sing for us. Love you guys! XOXO'S

    My little girl is 2 1/2 years old and she was the exact same way. The thing that has made such a huge difference and I know you all know this, but be consistent in whatever punishment you choose. I was always like wishy washy like I would feel bad for punishing her all day when she was bad alllll day but I learned I just had to be consistent and not let her get by with anything. And things have gotten so much better. She knows when she does something momma said not to do, she will get in trouble everytime.. just hang in there! Parenting is so hard 😫 I tell my husband that almost everyday, hahah. But we'll get through it. Love your channel ❤ such a sweet little family.

  • @reneesmith471
    @reneesmith471 5 лет назад

    Hey Chris! I totally agree with pulling the ice cream. It’s hard not to give in and let them have it, but if they know you mean what you say that is the best consequence. And really if you make that the norm when they are little, they know what is expected. As soon as they figure out you will give in, they will tantrum until they get their way. I think it sets the tone for the teenage years and everything in between. Stay strong! You guys are great parents! This is just a transition for everyone :)

  • @morganne408

    Thank you so much for talking about toddler meltdowns. I’m really struggling with my almost 3 year old when it comes to transitions & things he doesn’t want to do as well. He also gets scary angry. They’re literally little sour patch kids 😳 it’s exhausting! Thanks for letting us know we aren’t alone! 💕

    As far as trampolines go, my almost three year old daughter Ella loves hers, but she gets bored up there quickly. But if I'm jumping with her she could do it all day. It doesn't get used every day but I am glad that we have it.

    My daughter skipped the terrible twos but as soon as she turned 3, the tantrums started. She definitely tested my patience as a mom. Now she's an adult, working FT with her own place. You find a way to get through. I think high expectations through social media doesn't make parenting any easier. When my kids were young, there was no social media. You both seem like good people 😁

    As for advice to parenting. I don't have much because you both are such wonderful parents! I'm sure he will hopefully grow out of it! But, maybe let him choose his outfit, we had to let my almost 2 year old choose hers also. Otherwise she would kick, scream, and hit.. She's a lot better now!

    I’m like you too Tiff-I have a hard time saying no to my kids when they’re being naughty but I agree that it’ll teach them to be good and respectful if you don’t reward them when their behavior isn’t good. But I get it. Your mama heart hurts when you have to discipline! 😭❤️

    We have a trampoline and our kids love it. We have had it for 4 years and they still use it every day. We live in NY and although most people leave it up all year, we take the mat and net down for the winter and just leave the frame up. It still looks new after 4 years and it will last us until our kids are grown and out of the house. My dad does the same and he has had a trampoline there for 11 years and it’s in excellent shape. Totally worth it🙂

Parenting advice, sorry I can’t, I don’t have any children but I adore your family. My son went through a phase similar to your little man. We would go to Birthday parties and he would just cry so I would give him a 10 minute timeout and take him home and go back when he was calm. Fast forward a few years I thought he was showing signs of autism, got him tested and found out he hand anxiety with a bit of sensory processing disorder. He didn’t like loud sounds and a lot of commotion. He got used of me taking him out of the situation that he started doing it himself, asking me if he can take a alone break. He is now 14 and so much better, still don’t like loud sounds but plays well with others now. Hugs guys, I hope things get better ❤️❤️

    I know you said you don’t have time to read but No Drama Discipline by Daniel Siegel really helped me when I was dealing with very similar issues with my son. I listened to it on audio book from my library while I cleaned! Sometimes kiddos want to be listened to and understood- it just walks you through slowing down and listening to what your kiddo is upset about. Sometimes as adults we just want them to do something right then but explaining things clearly and hearing what they are feeling about the situation can make them feel understood and heard. I still have the same expectations but I communicate in a much more effective way and don’t have to yell or speak sternly to get my point across. I am always consistent too so they know I mean what I say! It really helped me and I feel like I am a better and more calm mom because of it. You guys are doing awesome with those kiddos. Love your family!

      We felt the same way. Frustrating to say the least. I honestly think it was a phase that lasted a couple months. If it was a time where I could physically do it (and also not about to lose my temper lol), instead of regular timeout, I'd make him have timeout on my lap and practice deep breathing once he was sane enough to reason with haha. It actually helped a lot. And letting him use his words to explain why he was feeling that way. He's a natural cuddle bug, so it seemed to calm his Hulk out lol.

    I love your videos and think you guys have an amazing family....obviously each person will parent differently.. I am a firm believer in the saying “ you spare the rod you spoil the child”... not corporal punishment but clearly a pop to the toosh or a quick flick to mouth worked wonders for my daughter when she got out of control. Most of the time threatening to take away something they love worked as well. I used to have to put my daughter in a timeout chair in the middle of the room because she would find anything to play while she was being punished... good luck Beastons ❤️

    I vote swing set over trampoline sole because my 6 year old broke his leg in March on one just jumping. We have a swing set with three different types of swings, a playhouse and a sandbox underneath. We made a wood cover that goes over the ladder so they can't go up it if we don't move it out of the way. Ya'll have such a great back yard though...I imagine anything you get the kiddos will love!

    For the gap under the fence, you can use either cinder blocks, or large garden pavers. Another option is chicken wire ( I think that’s what is called) or screen mesh. Anyways I have a Runaway dog too, so I’m always thinking of these things. My dog actually looks a lot like yours, she is a yorkie poodle mix though. She runs away any chance she gets ! 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    Sounds like Carter is growing up. He's trying to find his voice in the family. When this happened with my 2 boys the therapist said to have one-on-one time with him. Doesn't have to be long or expensive, just time alone especially with the oldest. Just wanted to let you know what I did when my boys were little ❤💚💜💙💛

    Ps: at a certain age wen u kno ur child can comprehend and you see tht they do everything you tell them 2 do unless its something they dnt want 2 do to me is tha rite time 2 start taking away activities. I think No ice cream was tha rite thing 2 do if u feel lik your child could have behaved alot better..you guys are great parents but i also think your to lenient wit them. Get chicken wire to cover the holes. Can also get tons of mulch and pour around fence area to lift up ground.

    As far as dealing with tantrums, we try to get eye level and talk calmly (phrases like I understand you’re having a hard time, I hear you and I know you’re upset right now, etc) until they settle and sometimes if they just won’t settle they just really need to go to bed for a nap!! 😂

    I got a trampoline for my 10th birthday like 22 yrs ago and we followed the instructions with two jumpers at a time and there was never one injury and it’s still in great condition today! My kids get to use it at my parents now 😊. We are getting my soon to be five and one year old one for their birthdays this year 👍

    My only advice is to not make food a reward, it's not about the ice cream but just the trip. If someone is cranky it means they're tired and it's time to go home and rest and skip the next stop. Trampolines are good for more than jumping, kids will use them to lay down and stare at the sky and they are the BEST bed for backyard camp outs with mom and dad.

    My kids love their trampoline..even as teenagers. But! I sold the first one we had because in the first 2 years we had it, all 4 kids were injured on the trampoline. Twisted ankle, concussion, broken arm, and the last one busted his head open. We had the safety net and the padding...it didnt matter. 😆 i just bought the second trampoline about 2 years ago. No injuries yet but they do use it often.

    Y'all ate awesome parents. You already know that. You definitely made the right choice by not giving them ice cream ! You can reward bad behavior. That's just my option. My kiddos acted up too but i punished them when they acted up. I know its hard to not give into your children. But at the same time they have to have rules. And realize they cannot act up especially in public ! Im proud of you Tiff & Chris . children learn by their mistakes rifht ? Keep up rhe great work. It does get easier if you stick to it !! Love y'all

    I absolutely agree with withholding ice cream. He needs to understand that his unacceptable behavior is why no one got ice cream. Be consistent! He’ll get it and so will Tanner and Ella just from watching.
