I have played a number of U1s and they have never let me down. Playing the B3 you definitely notice it is not the same instrument, and just listening in the video, you can tell as well. I get why Yamaha wants to offer a line of more budget conscious uprights to sell a piano every price point, but I think most savvy consumers would be better off to purchase a used U1 rather than a brand new B3

Compared to the B2, the step is huge is terms of sound. Oh and it doesn't have soft close fallboard. It's a good for a first new piano.

Very interesting. That was really awesome to hear the "Maple Leaf Rag" that you played so well - WOW !!! Thank you !!! You might want to check out that episode of the Twilight Zone - "The Convict's Piano" - I love that one. I also used to have an 1895 Upright Cabinet Grand piano - still searching for that very unique sound in a Digital keyboard (Good luck ?). Yes, I'm very ANALOG !!!! Every time you say 'B3" my heart goes into Hammond mode. Rein de Jong does a wonderful version of "A Whiter Shade of Pale" ... "A Whiter Shade of Pale; the organ part" ... It sure hits deep - Amazing !!!!!!!!!! (4,485,402 views) ... ♥🎶🎹🎶❣
