I'm glad you enjoy it and glad I could share it. One of my favorite concert videos. Hey, and they are back together so maybe you'll catch them live one day!
Awesome break by Eddie. Always wondered why they didn't convince him to join the band. Damn, would have loved to see them live back then. Thx for digging this up.
Probably did ask him, but heck, this band is half Split Enz anyway, both he and Neil were in that band. They're so good. Both were also the soul of that band, while Tim was the heart and mind.
@@peripheraldevotee94 Eddie was with them on CH's first US tour, and I was SO lucky to see them with him. A fantastic player who added so much to the SE and CH 'personality,' I always thought.
I am many years behind becoming a major fan of this group since early this year... now I learned that bassist Nick Seymore has a brother who also is a singer and composer.
Watching these old Crowdies videos compared to the newer ones just shows how much Paul is missed. His drumming and vocals were so awesome! Nothing against Matt though, he's a great drummer in his own right. :)
yes, it is totally a Split Enz song, but this version is quite like the original, at least in the MTV video that is. god i could kick myself for never getting to see them live. thank you, chizelmonkee, for sharing these live shows!! :-)
ChizelMonkee is right. Eddie basically didn't want to tour. If I remember it correctly his wife wanted (him) to settle down and he never liked touring that much (his health suffered on some tours). There's a Split Enz interview from the late 70s on youtube where he shortly talks about liking basically every aspect of being a musician except extensive touring.
Don't quote me, but I think I heard a story that when push came to shove Eddie didn't want to do the full-touring member thing when they asked. He did select live dates after CH "broke"
Great song RIP Paul Hester you'll always be a Legend!
These lads really deliver live - thanks for the upload. Good recording.
Crowded Enz. Fantastic!
Indeed
Thanks for putting so many songs on here!!! They were one of my favorite bands!!

Thanks for posting this video. I was actually there that day with some friends to see Crowded House and Til Tuesday, what a fun time.

He nearly did join the band, but a combination of a new marriage and poor health on tour stopped that.

@@suemich2319 Agreed there. Mitchell Froom did a sublime job when I saw them a week ago, but watching Eddie live would've been something else.

Malcolm was a better drummer imo

Damn, Eddie is on fire!

Neil.... still so sexy with a voice to go with it❤
@jackrebel601 Yes it was! Enjoy!
Go Eddie :D
Clearly I am indicating who is performing the song in the video not who performed it originally. So you are forgiven. :)
Wasn't this during MTV's Spring Break Week in 1987?
used to be?? LOL i think he is STILL very handsome, same sexy eyes and smile! :-)
ramada rose....oh DEFINITELY❤

he left to start a family
I could say the same . . .
One word...MONEY!
