    Hello Skyvibers! I hope you enjoyed this one!
    Did I forget any element worth mentioning? Did you ever go on a main canopy hunt after a cutaway?

    Great video #skydivevibes I have not gone on a hunt but my daughter had experienced a cutaway on her second tandem jump, a gift from me, this summer. I never knew it until someone who knew we were jumping that day sent a group text to my phone asking everyone to pray for me as a 911 call to our DZ said a skydiver was down. Evidently a passerby saw the main come down with no one attached to it. Everyone was ok and she can't wait to do it again!
    At 46 I hope to have my license by September!

    Great story about my AFF instructor.
    After a few days of searching he got a tip from someone to go to ikea, so he went to the service desk and asked if they had a parachute and the clerk answered
    -Actually I do have one in the warehouse, let me go get it.
    So he found his main complete with the freebag from the reserve on a shelf at an ikea warehouse.

    Thank you very much for another great video! But I want to mention one point - not always if you don't see pilot-chute and canopy bag attached to canopy it means that it is reserve. Some swooping canopies may be equipped with 'full-RDS' system, where pilot-chute and canopy bag are attached to slider, so you remove all this things right after deployment.

    Great videos, thanks. I feel it would help a lot though if you showed the equipment, or the maneuver you were talking about more, we would be able to absorb the information better. Most of the equipment/maneuver video shots are really quick and I have to always go back to look more at what you're talking about.

    What happens after cut away, do we have to purchase new container ?

    • @arycave
      @arycave 3 года назад +1

      you may need new reserve bag, pilot, and handles with cables if you loose them. Something less than $200 usually with reserve re-pack.

    • @colin1818
      @colin1818 3 года назад +1

      In addition to what Ary Cave said, you may also lose your main parachute. Which would seriously suck. However, most of the time you're able to recover them (varies by drop zone). And other jumpers are usually good about watching where that canopy lands and helping you find it. Heck, you may even be able to get a pilot to do a flyover to observe it from the air if you're really having issues.
      But of all things, losing a main canopy is the biggest potential problem.

    soooo dont rely on ur canopy?

    • @SkydiveVibes
      @SkydiveVibes  5 лет назад +3

      Not really what I meant. For example, if you have a malfunction, do not simply do nothing and wait for your AAD to do the job... Always fight for your life if something happens. Of course, rely on your equipment but do not neglect your procedures. ;)
