I'll say it again, Pantera's best stuff is the early albums. This track is golden proof how talented they were in the 80's. The fact they tried to hide this, it's a shame.
it is and it will likely continue. WE can do something about that though. Cover the first four albums in your music projects and bands, sing your own versions on youtube. Share as much of the music as possible. One day hopefully there will be justice for early Pantera
This is a total 80's heavy metal gem. I find it mind-boggling that Pantera in 1990 decided to hide their 80's material and make you believe they formed in 1990.
+Devin Palladino once i found their 80s material in about 2000, i stopped listening to heavy stuff. darrell has some scorchers from these days. love it
Dime didn't hide it he said in a interview he's still got his spandex pants and wouldn't trade them for anything and he's solos from trendkill are mostly old solos he had back in these days
there are no two people in this world that can mesh together like Dime and Vinnie. Absolutely my favorite music to listen to, no matter when or where. be it metal magic or trendkill, there's no other feeling that can compare to just kicking back and listening to this. I've always been a huge Pantera fan. I grew up in the 90s. The Florida death metal scene was the s***. This was the only non death metal band that I even had any interest in. Fast Forward 10 years later, I got into Gwar, and it opened the doors to other types of music for me. I got a cfh tattoo the day before my 19th birthday on December 8th... I woke up the next day and all my friends were calling me telling me Darrell got shot. I thought it was some kind of sick joke. I can't tell you what that did to me as a kid. this is not just music. This is a way of life. This is salvation for some people. This is a way out. An escape from the pain and emptiness. when I was a kid I was all alone. Music was all I had. These guys saved my life. getcha pull motherufckers! \m/
Floods earlier and now this. Pantera has been coming up a lot in my recommendations lately. Dime's solos are the best thing about the early years. I was disappointed they didn't have any guitar solos in some of the later stuff like Slaughtered and Living Through Me/Hell's Wrath
The problem is, that they were produced on the label of Vince's and Dime's Dad and from what I know, that label doesn't exist anymore. That's why u can't stream it anywhere
Such dope music that didn’t get released to the masses, but it damn well should have been just as popular as Cowboys and Vulgar, this and Power Metal are ultimate.
Yo naci en el año 1984 .la pucha !A veces pienso en aquellos años, y me digo me hubiese gustado tener 26 años en esa epoca para poder ir a un directo de esta formacion musical. Algo asi como viajar en el tiempo.
definitely, I Am The Night is good but a bit uneven and has a harsher production (though who the hell knows because the actual original albums are rare and never remastered officially)
Can someone explain why Pantera hid their early work? Were they ashamed of it? I think it's pretty damn good, different to their globally known style but idk, you don't see RHCP hiding their 80's energetic funk rock albums just because they developed a mellower style later on.
The 90s stuff is too mainstream, fans of the “real” pantera also like slipknot and Linkin Park and 80s metal fans don’t like modern pop and rap groups (generally, some 80s fans do like pop)
The pop of the late 80's and early 90's were more differentiated and creative. Today is a repeat. Rap from the late 80's and early 90's had great reviews, but nowadays it's showing ostentation.
Wow, some of this shit is really good! No doubt it's Dime soloing. The worst parts are the vocals. You say " all 80s vocals were that way". I disagree. All 80s POP vocals were that way, but there were plenty of other non pop vocalists that weren't. So....a lot of the music is great....just not so much of the vocals.
I'll say it again, Pantera's best stuff is the early albums. This track is golden proof how talented they were in the 80's. The fact they tried to hide this, it's a shame.
Love their early stuff
Beautifully put together the lyrics music
So unique
Unlike anything you will ever listen to
Only few know how good this sounds
Right there with ya...during this era I saw them in every sleaze bar club, and pool hall around Dallas Ft Worth they played
Totally RIGHT!
I don't mind if Pantera plays glam metal, power metal, thrash metal or extreme metal. Dime and Vinnie plays very well!!

well they kinda did form in 1990 cuz this material doesn't have anything to do with their most famous stuff (cowboys from hell etc)
@@abenaz they are the same band with same members but in different music era, like Metallica was in 80's until Black album came out to mainstream.
@@rinopaar8641 I know, how does that change/negate what I said?!
It’s mind blowing how hard they tried hiding this era. Dime’s best guitar work came from their glam days.

Wow remember when diamond Darrel was in dokken
😂
man just the first 5 seconds get me pumped already.
Even listening to these guys when they were a small time hair band, you could tell they were something special and were going to be huge.
Phil was right. Darrell could do it all.

80s metal by pantera was the best
The early Panther is a unique collar !!!
Definitely doesn’t sound like anyone in the 80s
Thought i was the only one who thought this way
PANTERA RULES!
There early Albums from the 1980's Are awesome it's a dam shame there early albums from the 1980's not on ITunes or Pandora.

If they were signed to a big label, songs like this would have crushed all those bands like Poison,Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Dokken and so on.
Bit more production value, maybe a better singer and you'd have the best band of the 80s no doubt.
@@ZeFrenchiestFry69420 I think the music itself is fine. It just needs a better production.🤔
The underlying groove on this song is unbelievable. Vinnie & Dime forever ❤🔥🔥
The intro sound like Maiden. Amazing song
Sound like Dokken
More like Dokken.....but better
Maiden? WTF are u talking about? 🤣
Sure more maiden than dokken
Maiden then Dokken with some AOR elements and a side of Def Lepp
Isso sim era o verdadeiro Pantera! 80s⚡
Such dope music that didn’t get released to the masses, but it damn well should have been just as popular as Cowboys and Vulgar, this and Power Metal are ultimate.
This was literally better than most of the melodic metal bands that made it in that era. Can’t believe this wasn’t huge. Like a heavier Def Leppard.
Awesome music
If you had this you RULE
Awesome Intro.
Realy great stuff.
rip dime and vinnie paul
wow that amazing song yeahhh
Awesome...

Es glorioso como acompaña el teclado con los reefs!!
best Pantera songs and singer
Dime 17 years old
Easily their best album of the first 3
1. Power Metal(1988)
2. Projects in the Jungle(1984)
3. I am the Night(1985)
4. Metal Magic(1983)
definitely, I Am The Night is good but a bit uneven and has a harsher production (though who the hell knows because the actual original albums are rare and never remastered officially)

Dimebag: Yo dude!! I got some crayons you think you could draw an album cover? 🤣🤣🤣
This one BOPS!
Great stuff in their glam days...
That lead tone is insane 😢
Does anyone have a tab for this? I can't find one anywhere ? Just for the solo
Did you find a tab?
Dime live
This sounds like a tape that's been left out in the sun too long 😩
I don't understand why the band hates their first 3 albums. They're pretty great.
Love this shit 2018 ...maybe a cover by someone?
2020 brother
2022. See yall in 2024.

Nice opportunity.
I could totally see Jon Bon Jovi loving these guys in the 80s.... in the 90s, not so much
Sounds like def leppard
This sounds like a lost Def Leppard song
pantera was not so phil anselmo was a lot more guitar, drums, bass and heavy metal ImI
Like pantera with Phil lol
Great stuff! The Terry years are the real deal! Before they became a shitty death metal band
wow. Your a douche.
Pantera is thrash metal not death metal. Get your facts straight dumbass
@Netto shopper it's groove metal with thrash and sludge elements. They were unique. Phil's vocal style was borrowed from Exhorder.

Yeah. Just blown away by this. I had no clue they had basically a career as a hard rock/metal band before becoming thrash like we all knew them.
@@joeylyons4549 thrash? pantera isn't thrash at all. Why do people think that haha.
lmao I just realized this is basically a huge Dokken ripoff
As they say: If you're gonna rip someone off, look to the best. Dokken was fucking raw back in the day.
Which dokken song or technique in particular though
Scott Morris nope
It was just the style back then.
Nope, PITJ came out a few months before Dokken's debut
