Great to know about the edible mushrooms - but, you really need to have a knife and leave the root for more mushrooms to grow

This is actually a myth. Mushrooms don't have "roots" in the same sense that plants do. Instead, they have a vast underground network, called mycelium. The mycelium makes up the majority of the fungus, and the mushroom is just the fruiting body. Pulling up a mushroom is no more harmful to the fungus than picking an apple is to the tree. I go back to these places year after year, and the mushrooms always grow back.

I got a recommendation for your channel after watching the Mushroom Wonderland channel. He is on the Kitsap peninsula in Washington state.

looks fun but i wouldn't ever eat anything you find out there just to be safe. its not worth getting sick. but hey what do i know anyways?

Winter chanterelles and hedgehog mushrooms have no poisonous look alikes, but you still should be careful, and only eat a wild mushroom if you are 100% sure of it's ID.
