Honestly I can't get enough of this album. It is so catchy and well-written. Every track hits well. I agree that a few tracks cut out too short (Let Me Down, Jerk), but even those are incredible pieces. It's a concise and super easy and enjoyable listen full of replay value.
Ikr. I’m surprised to see even people here saying his character is annoying or some shit like that. I mean, to me it always looked like Oliver knows his shit. His music and acting look and sound like an artist that knows a lot about his craft, it feels concise.
Even then we know that Let Me Down was written fairly quickly in response to the backlash of pushing back the release of the album

Andrew Olsen It’s genuine man, no joking about with stuff like this. I’ve actually seen for at least the past year that he oftentimes appears worn out and just outright exhausted, I’ve just never properly paid attention until now. Hoping he does take a sensible step and take time to relax and find some clarity - the dude works so much.
He deserves a rest, I mean he is human after all, and being a reviewer is one of the hardest and most stressful things because of all the people that isn't agreed with your reviews and end up hating and attacking at a personal level

@@LM01234 He has talked him up so much and hinted at it pretty hard also saying Oliver Tree will not be making any more music. Oliver Tree is his first and middle name but a character he is playing as well originally named Turbo. I think he's taking the costume and acting into the music world to explore different sounds under these guises and it's a brilliant idea. Considering how much of a role visuals have in music these days its pretty creative and progressive. I bet there are artists who have done it before I know many artists have released different albums under different monikers, some artists have had costumes, but having a different sound, different moniker, different character, and fusing this acting with the fusion of genres is a brilliant sense of experimenting and showing people what he is about. Like maybe somehow in this story line Oliver Tree dies and Ricky (who is him in a different costume) takes over and has a totally different style and up until the next album releases he turns that character into the face of the moniker and album cover. I'm just speculating but I think it's a probable hypothesis and if not someone should try that. I bet there have been lots of artists who have done this through history but with social media I think he's a standout in that niche.

I really think the project as a collection of songs is great though the way it was released makes me not enjoy it in the same way I would with a normal album since I've heard most of the songs over and over for years. Great songs but the older songs being mixed into completely fresh ones makes it an a-typical album listening for me. I did notice some of the older songs had been remixed or remastered compared to previous releases so it added a touch of freshness to older songs.
Also interesting to note the number of artists in 2020 dropping tracks about a year in the 90s like Drake's recent Pain 1993 where Playboi Carti is featured with a baby sounding voice in a polarizing track I personally love for its strangeness from Dark Lane Demo tapes. Also I speaking of Playboi Carti's part on that album I couldn't help but think of Xxxtentacion's vocal inflections and wide range of vocal styles and experimentation. It seems there has been this wave of "baby voice" sounding music growing steadily over the last year amidst tons of rappers with a variety of names including baby. Already in 2018 we were already past peak "Lil" rapper names and somewhere between then and now the "Baby" prefix has filled it's big boy shoes. Next year I'm guessing we will be due for fetus and 9 months from now we are going to "Egg" & "Swimmer" names before robots fully take over the world and "Motherboard" becomes the new prefix. Regardless of the next rap moniker prefix or vocal style to pop off I think in 2020 pretty much everyone is looking back on the 90s with a heightened sense fondness for simpler times.

Oliver isn’t done. If you listen to the end of 1993, the part at the end that is “supposedly” Little Ricky ZR3 is really just Oliver singing with his vocals pitched down. He basically used this album to set up Little Ricky ZR3 as his new persona/character since things are rumored to not be so great between him and Atlantic Records.
Basic pasta recipe:
Boil the water (with salt and/or olive oil) in a large pan. Once boiling add the pasta and cook for 8-12 mins, depending on the shape - see above. Drain and leave to steam dry for a few mins, just until the surface of the pasta looks matte. Then add pasta sauce, pesto or simply a good drizzle of olive oil and seasoning. Mix really well to coat and allow some of the sauce or dressing to be absorbed into the pasta. Season with salt, pepper and a finely grated hard cheese like parmesan.

Why does everyone say "only" a 7? That's considered a very good rating and I would argue that it's a very biased rating because he likes the guy. If some unknown person such as myself released that same album, he would definitely rate it much lower.
He rated Gupi's "None" a 7 and it's basically just dance beats and autotune. Ugly is Beautiful is an amazingly well mastered album that had a bunch of work into it. Yes, a 7 should be a great rating, but compared to what else he has put at a 7, I'd say the album should be a 9 or 9.5. Anthony doesn't really like Oliver either, he regularly gives him really bad reviews and constantly shits on him, hence Anthony Fucking Fartface.

I keep humming the vocal melody nonstop. Even though Anthony isn’t a fan of the song, after listening to this review, it makes sense I love it so much because I’m a big fan of Cage the Elephant.
