I usually build a 2x3 on the side of my base. If you divide it with two window frames and a garage door you can fit the car lift and work on the car through the frame without compromising offline security. A smart switch to open the garage door makes all the difference too.
Yeah that’s how to do it, I usually do the same with any renovation I make to my base. Typically looks like a giant mole off the side of the base...but gets the job done 😂
I like this, I play on a role play server and maintain a fleet of vehicles, I think i’m going to extend it however and add multiple bays beside the one you have. Thanks for the idea though!
@@frogged7933 a metal frag saved is a metal frag earned. i’d rather deploy a 5 hqm solar panel than lose hundreds of hqm over a few days repairing, no?
Jeez man I hope not, that thing chews up power! I haven't made this base in a few months now so unsure if Facepunch updated it to require power all the time. But from what I believe it was as long as the car was is in the TC's radius it was fine. Otherwise you could store the parts in a box to stop decay. Thanks for the info
So I built this and just curious, does the small generator always have to be on? or just when you power the lift to raise car and lower so it doesn't decay?
Yeah so only toggle the generator on when you need to use the car lift otherwise it will burn through low grade. I’m unaware of it decaying if you have your tc placed but haven’t tested this with the recent updates .
it seems a large battery, 3 solar panels, 2 root combiners is the way to go. it always needs to be on, hence, the small generator is impossible, except i use it for some ceiling lights when i need it. other than that this garage is great for me, i just use a large battery for the lift to ensure vehicle never decays. also my base right next door, so no need for a workbench in there.
I didn’t say it in the vid so my bad but if it does decay (which I haven’t checked for a few wipes now) you can Just take the parts off and store them in the boxes. Hope that helped 😀
Thanks! I originally planned on a more complex design but found they get way to pricy for what they are and the typical rust player won’t be bothered to put heaps of effort into a car garage each wipe.
I probably didn’t explain it well but when you place both the glass window and window embrasure it provides 500 protection over just 250 for a sheet metal door. So being that the window items are cheaper and add more protection is why I opted for them. You could put a garage door instead but garage doors use a lot of metal. Typically with the windows you just leave them off until you are logging off then replace them. Only people that have tc can remove the windows. Hope that helped!
@@superC1266 they add 600 protection (cost 300 metal 2 gears). But cost more and at that point a raider can just go through the walls which are weaker. So unless you upgrade the entire triangle walls and foundation to metal. Don’t see a point, but some may find windows annoying so customise as you please 😅
Hmmm. That’s odd. It use to be a lot harder to place but in recent updates they have made it easier. Try playing around on a build server and see if that helps. Sorry I can't be more help than that.
Yeah, lil stupid on my end to say sheet metal door, it is possible even with the armoured modules but you need the ground in front to be very flat and seamless with the base so it's not angled. It's a bit too fiddly to recommend using.
Hey, I appreciate the shoutout! I love the design! I'm happy you fixed the electricity, I am not that good with it obviously. Good work!!

Ayyy thanks. For sure, go crazy and customize this bad boy however. It’s a pretty basic design but hopefully a good starting point 👍
Thanks bro I used this for my vid and the new wipe and now I got a car all i needed was a garage good thing I found this vid.
Thanks for the kind words ma dude. I see you’ve just uploaded your first rust vid, good luck on the grind!
@@keyoco thanks i was wondering who subbed to me lol
@@keyoco ive got a new rust vid with your base design coming out in lime a week or two as its still in progrress.
This is a decent set up to add to an existing base, thanks for sharing.
i heard they are adding camper modules for cars im hyped
simple, neat, yeah im not gonna use it as a base but definitely as a garage base, thnx
Thanks! Agree, definitely not secure enough for a main base.
3:37 this placement wasn't possible for me so I had to place it along the shelf instead
nice vid. i found this base in game
Yooo that’s sweet.
Seems good for clans who don’t need a massive garage for cars they just need this
Nice vid dude
Ayyy glad you enjoyed it!
Really nice design, apart from the fact that the car decays if the lift isn't powered, so a solar panel/windmill setup is usually compulsory
its not that much to repair really
@@frogged7933 a metal frag saved is a metal frag earned. i’d rather deploy a 5 hqm solar panel than lose hundreds of hqm over a few days repairing, no?
Simple and easy. Tysm
rock solid design, very easy to set up.
Thanks for design
What about the wooden frames
thank you for the help
I'm pretty sure you need to keep the lift on so the car doesn't decay (please comment if I'm wrong)

Good vid, but how can I get my hands on a generator?
Thanks! Easiest way to get a generator is to get it from the outpost vending machines for a bit of scrap.
Thanks mate
Using a generator to power the Lift, will the vehicle decay, when the Lift is not powered?

@@keyoco right. so you still can't leave your car alone for too long, without power.
No, as long as there’s a tc in the base the car won’t decay. And if it does just take the parts off and store them when not using the vehicle
so obvious, but still so good thanks :)
Thanks! I originally planned on a more complex design but found they get way to pricy for what they are and the typical rust player won’t be bothered to put heaps of effort into a car garage each wipe.
How do you get the garage blip on the map?
Just done this but can't access my TC without taking off all the stuff you put on. Makes no sense suggesting it..

I used a smart switch to unlock both doors by rust+ app. So I don't have to leave the car
Sweet! The rust+ app update was pretty random but is super cool for stuff like that.
Doesn't work for me. The lift will turn blue but it won't let me place.

Whyd you call it a 2x2
5:06 video advertisement is hiding entire base overlook. bs.
Yeah you're right, I haven't watched it in months so forgot I did that... I really don't need the thumbnail 70% of the screen. Fixed it up mate.
IM sorry but garage doors are the way to go . i tried Sheetmetal doors and none of the cars would fit through..

What about the ramp to allow the car into the garage?
Bit confused what you mean by that sorry? I add it at 4:59. It was a bit easy to miss.
okkkk
