- In order to turn a profit on my used car I needed to do some work myself. This was really fun and enjoyable.

Buying a Car Doesn't Have to Suck™
Good for you for actually fixing stuff like this. My local Chevy dealer leaves tons of dents and paint imperfections in their cars, and it shows.
I don't mind minor imperfections but the price needs to reflect that. Too often it doesn't.
Nahh thats st8 from factory GM quality
Liking the longer video!! Gotta say it’s nice from the consumer POV to see the owner doing the work to make sure the cars are good to go!
I'll be honest, this was my favorite video so far! You have become my favorite channel on RUclips, ever since you started Mike's Car Store! Congratulations on all of your success and the best of luck and success for years to come!
Mike, it doesn’t surprise me that stand up guy like you would do a good will repair on that customers Jeep. That’s what sets you apart from all other dealers big or small. Keep up the great work and the informative videos. Cheers!
Having worked at an auto body shop and done this kind of work, it was fun watching you do it for the first time. A little tip for getting a window down or up when there is no power is to use a jump box and a pick set. If the window has two wires powering it just find the wires on the harness, insert a pick in each slot, then hook up the jump box. You may have to reverse the picks if the window doesn't go the direction you want but you be able to loosen the bolts holding the window easier.
I think this was one of your neatest videos. I would like to see more. Great Job!
Always funny watching the boss get a taste of the real work that he thinks is simple and easy and just magically gets done 👍
Nice!! Im a used car dealer also and theres no better feeling than fixing something yourself and only paying parts cost lol
You're a good man for the screen replacement. CDJR has many vehicles whereby the screen delaminates.
Yes. Love to see you fixing autos to make them right for the future owner, rather than bandaids just to sell.
I wish I had your mechanical "intuition", mechanically, I have tried repeatedly to do minor repairs, oil changes, etc. but vis-a-vis such skills I'm the man who turned a million in real estate into 25 bucks cash.....I am envious
If you get two gray metallic vehicles that actually match you are leading a charmed life. I worked in the collision industry for 44 years and I have only seen it a couple of times.
The King of Transparency
Great video; would love to see more videos of you fixing things!
👏👏👏 something Mrs. Chevy Dude would say. " if you put your mind to it, you can do anything". Great job Mike. Keep up the great work.
Ugh the delimitation is a huge problem on the Jeep grand Cherokee as well. I have heard that UConnect will often replace them as it is a very well known problem.
Chinese garbage
Good on you Mike! I like to see people get some technical chops, and what's even better, some of this stuff you will be able to spot when you're buying cars, and you will know right off the bat to account for that in your bid. Just an FYI - figure on changing that screen in each and every 2018 Chrysler - they ALL delaminate.
I love the thinking outside the box to get vehicles ready to sell. I am pretty sure the market it tough right now and you want to do things right.
Great job!
Great to see you take the extra step in fixing damaged parts on these vehicles. Please fix more things.
Replacing damaged body parts with paint matched part is fun isn't it! Those 2 rusted doors are still worth a nice chunk of change despite the corrosion.
It was kind of fun watching you fix stuff Mike.
Yes, show more repair operations. Good job.
Great job replacing the panels . With rust it's hard to get rid of . But next time you can take the door bolts off when you open up the door with hand wrench . Little faster .
This is a great standard to set. If I came in with the radio and you sold me the screen at cost and you provided the laborer for free, I would have been satisfied.
Excellent work Chevy Dude! You are steps above most dealership owners! I love that you go the extra mile, just because! So awesome! I would love to see more vlogs/videos like this!
More repair videos please!
Nice work . That last one got me never too
That was pretty cool especially since you have continuous inventory it’ll always be something new
Everytime he says "I've never done this before" take a shot. 😆
Always cool to see how things are fixed you never know when it will come in handy down the road
Yes, love watching videos like this👍very informative. Great video.
I want to see more repair videos. It helps your business and makes the customers happy with their purchase. Keep up the fantastic videos.
This was one of the better videos on the channel in quite some time. More of this please.
Yes want to see more!!! But as a salesman you expect things to be easy as butter but thru dat or them vehicles designs they kind of make simple stuff kind of complicated but still its fun to learn how to do it plus dats more moolah in your pockets when you sell em!
At an event I was photographing a while back, I was talking to a guy who owns a small used car lot. He use to look for the best cars at auction, now he looks for the trouble cars like these two. He's learned basic auto body repair and has sources for stuff like you did here. He found that his bottom line went up about 30%, if he calculated for his time and labor, it was about a 15% increase. But with the skills he learned, including paintless dent repair, he brings in a lot of basic auto body work for added profits.
I like seeing the refurbishment work on the vehicles. Really need to work on lighting and or not do it half in the bay which caused the scene to be blown out.
As far as the “good will” screen change out. I would expect you guys would have noticed a damaged screen like that before the sale. And given the persons comment about bringing it back, sure seems like they hit it and caused the damage and got you to fix it for free. I would not have gone for that unless I was really unsure if it did not have the damage when sold.
Great job you saved on labor and you are selling a quality product
WOW! You now have an additional name = Fixit Dude!
Very impressive! I like how you take the time to make sure that these vehicles are in the best possible condition. I would like to see more of the reconditioning of the vehicles before they go on the lot. Also, I want to add that I think that it was a smart idea to find donor cars for the parts you needed.
Great Job! Fix more and repost as fixing this on this vehicle and that vehicle so others looking will have help to do same Job!
Best video so far keep up the great work Chevy dude!!
Mike the Mechanic! Sounds like a good job for you. 😂
Great job fam I love this site I wish u was around when I've traded my 07 honda accord wit only 1 more year . I've owe the bank b4 I've traded it in for a 2016 honda accord sport and got completely ripped off .
Please, please, please consider opening a store up here in Columbus, Indiana. We do have a Chick-fil-A. I would bring you & Mrs. Chevy Dude lunch on your grand opening!

One of your best videos! Loved it!
Excellent job , more videos like this please
I love this too. This type of content really grabs me in
Probably one of your better videos
Great video! Enjoyed the longer length format and the DIY aspect. Awesome stuff Mike, jobs well done!
Great job, Mike!
If you get the rust removed from both sides you can keep it from rusting through again for a long time but if you only did the outside you are correct it would show through quickly.
Good you have lots patience’s great job👍🏻
Nice work. As a body guy I’m impressed.
I definitely love these type of videos
More repair videos! I think you are enjoying too. Good stuff.
I would like to see you fix more things on cars you want sell.👍
Awesome job Mr Mike. congrats on the repair jobs. What tool would someone use to remove a pinstripe? Keep up the good work. Say hi to the boss lol
Nice work Mike and to your people who work for you.
Good effort, good results !
Good job Chevy Dude!
A lot calmer then flying wheels
Keep it up with these kinds of videos!
Re: window down - just apply 12v to the motor.... No need to struggle with bolts...
Great video. I orginally did not think that you needed to do all of that to fix a little rust but after you took the door off.. I can definitely see the benefit of doing it the right way. BTW what are you doing with that old delaminated screen? If you still have it I would love to have it!!
Well done! Do more!
UConnect (manufacturer of the screen) will warranty the delamination.
Thank you for not sanding and painting over the rust.
You have gone above and beyond in my view.
Multitasking, you the man 👍
I wanna see some repair videos on the C8!!! Where's that thing been, we haven't seen it since spring unless I missed something
I don’t know much about the costs and what can actually be done but I have seen some PDR guys do some amazing work on some stuff that you would have never thought possible. Could that panel not have been repaired or would it just have been more expensive to find someone good enough vs replacing the panel?
Fix more things in your videos because it shows us that they are simple fixes most of the time!
Open the door and use a ratchet wrench and u can do it right in the door jam
If only all dealerships were like this
Right on great content you should get into fixing more stuff
The wife is going to put you in body shop when she sees this video.! 😁All in fun!😀
Awesome job!
Like the longer videos. Fix more stuff 😊
Nice work keep it coming 👍
More videos like this !!!! 🤩
This was an awesome vide I enjoyed this alot and loved it and I love the longer video as well. And I love how you actually fixed stuff like this that's awesome of you to do that. Anyway keep up the great work Mike much love to ya man have a good one take care God bless and I will see ya on the next one brother
If you do more of these can you edit them so they ALWAYS have a good ending. I don’t need anymore stress in my life.
Great video -love it, keep them going!
Awesome job
I love the fix it vlogs
Good job good way to save money for your dealer ship and do it your self.
What about the rust over the the drivers side rear tire on the pilot?
Did you check the inside door controls on the Pilot? I've taken off a door panel and not correctly reset the hook up for the door latch, and found I couldn't get out! lol
Nice work - keep em coming!
I like you tho man! You seem so authentic to me! Keep crushing it
Frank could have fixed all that in half the time! *LOL*
Great video!
I think you need to include some costs and if it was worth it or not for your situation.
Bully for you! This is what people expect to buy from a pre-owned dealer, not a POS.
Im impressed nice job
do it Mike, fix em up !
