Good teachers are a blessing…They’re powerful…They can touch a life, change a life, even save a life…You could actually hear the love for his beloved former teacher in Mr. Oquendo’s voice…In the midst of these troubling times, Love shines through…
Mr. Oquendo has blessed me for three whole years of my life in high school. I was the original male singer for the All City Latin Ensemble, and both Mr. Toro and him have heavily inspired me to pursue music as a career path. Now I'm double majoring in music performance and drama at Queens College. If I could still sacrifice my Saturdays to practice alongside him again, I certainly would. I look up to this man like he's a prophet, and I wish him luck on his future with the Latin Ensemble
Mr. Oquendo is teaches me at Pelham Prep in The Bronx. He has instilled a love for music in me, which drives me to pursue that career later in life. With each note that gracefully plays from his trumpet ascends me to plane of oblivion; a plane where nothing matters but those admirable notes. Mr. Oquendo's trademarked fedora symbolizes the age of jazz and the impact that it has had on history to what we have today. God bless his soul. (To those who care, I jack OGz. Known enemies are YG, GD and OY. If you're part of those gangs respectfully fuck off.)
Touching feel good story - loved it! love the positivity!
We need these positive news so much these days. I am so tired of all the hate and fighting.
