I agree kerryincolumbus 100%! she was the reigning queen of the high Cs in Hollywood for almost a decade, and one only needs to listen to this recording to see why! Absolutely fabulous!
To xylfox: I quite agree that the writers of songs performed on RUclips don't always get credited, as they should be, by contributors to youtube. This is especially true of Americas greatest male songwriter, Cole Porter.
By COLE PORTER I don´t know what this is the last years especially: So less credits to the composers/authors in many videos. Not evem mentioned in one of hundred of comments
My favorite scene in the film. Miss Grayson is lovely, if overly made-up - and that nightingale voice. One minor point: I would like to see that chalet from which they can gaze DOWN on the Jungfrau.
GRAYSON and KEEL SHOULD HAVE MADE MORE MUSICALS TOGETHER..........THEIR VOCALS WERE FAR GREATER THAN AMERICAN IDOL, VOICE, COULD NEVER RIVAL. HOW ABOUT JOSH GROBAN AND JACKIE EVANCHO ?
Can someone please answer me something. Were Kathryn Grayson and Howard Keel ever married? I know they've played a lot of couples together but I was wondering if they ever had a personal relationship in real life. I think someone told me they were once and now I can't figure it out.
@@emduper26 Thank you for clearing that up. Since they were both such big stars it makes sense that they would be attracted to each other and have -as you called it - a little fling, even if it didn't last long.
Much Much More - difficult to see what could be better than this film version list Book by William Shakespeare Cole Porter Music and Lyrics Andre Previn Conductor Howard keel Katheryn Grayson Ann Miller Bob Fosse Tommy Rallnot to mention the gangsters and not least the play within the play it is performed somewhere forever while we have the desire to watch and listen to magic but the players are gone except on film ?
Great song good voices but I can't stand the," yourrr- a mine a dearrrr, and wunderrrr barrrr" type singing. It used to be considered the sign of a "trained singer", but be honest, it sounds affected and - a -stupid! Thank goodness rolling your RRRR's has all but died out! That said, I still enjoy the song.
Could be exaggerated as stage presentation (which was the premise of the story ) is over acted, enunciated and the style of singing was to showcase her amazing voice. Make up on stage is also exaggeratence why stage actors mention how they have to tone down enunciation, expressions when they do film and tv. I agree in this sceen she looked way over made up until I remembered it was a movie about a stage actors relationship. Anne Miller was good as the not too smart but extremely sexy corus girl. James Whitmore and the other actor were great in brush up four Shakespeare. Used to sit up wat late to watch the old musicals on black and white tv. Loved the music dance lyrics. A sweeter time.
+Beppe Sapone I SURE hope you're kidding with that statement, otherwise, you're either on crackcocaine or 13 years old.. what a ridiculous thing to say! Them singing this would be a direct slap in the composer's face!

The queen of the Hollywood high Cs!! this just proves it right here - incredible singing!
I’m not sure you should be saying that about Howard Keel 😂😂😂
Wonderful, witty lyrics from the pen of Cole Porter, greatest of all the American composers for the musical stage.
This was great!!!! Back in the days when "Stars" had talent!
I remember my Grandma singing this in the front room 😊. She loved all the musical shows ❤
Kathryn Grayson = The ABSOLUTE BEST from MGM!!! her high notes are stupendous!

Ah, romance, comedy, beautiful music. What more can you ask?
nice timing: singing, waltzing, and turning through the doorway
so her head just misses the door jam...
how many outtakes, we'll never know...
Grayson and Keel had magical on screen chemistry ..I love them in this and 'Show Boat'...
How they made it look spontaneous!
Seductive with rhe talent of Cole Porter. A jubilant scene of mad attraction to say the least.
How lovely. My favorite waltz ever!
3:10-3:18 never fails to make me laugh! These two were SO cute together in their films
Easily in my top 10. I love this film.
Simply the best.
Kiss me kate was the first and only musical ive been in. It was almost magical
These two are fabulous together!! She had a very high operatic..type soprano......Voice!! Just beautiful!!!
I totally agree!!
Coloratura
My most favorite ever since I can remember
Wonderful Cole Porter song.

Magic!
¡Geniales, maravillosos en todo lo que hicieron!! Qué química! Y además, la música de Cole Porter.
They filmed this in 3D which is why actors/actresses are shown framed as in the window or mirror here, or they throw things towards the camera.
By COLE PORTER I don´t know what this is the last years especially: So less credits to the composers/authors in many videos. Not evem mentioned in one of hundred of comments
Pareja espectacular.
Cuz after aaaaalllllllll, you're my wunderbaaaaarrrrr
Love this fantastic duo! I spent many dimes in late 1940' , 1950 1nd 1960 in the theater watching their movies! Gramma a
A Ham that lasted one winter?
❤😊

The line is figurative, implying that these two lovers' heads are in the clouds. Porter was making a point of this by suggesting an impossibility.
Picky picky!! How could anyone bother
about such nonsense when Howard Keel is so gorgeous.

I read Howard's autobiography and he talked about how they had a brief fling once, but they were never married. They stayed good friends though!
@@emduper26 Thank you for clearing that up. Since they were both such big stars it makes sense that they would be attracted to each other and have -as you called it - a little fling, even if it didn't last long.
Howard Keel confessed to being in love with Kathryn calling her “The most beautiful woman in Hollywood” but no comment from her.

Grayson looks real sultry here.
0:32 Take it he didn't get on with his mother-in-law.
That doesn't look like Kathryn Grayson

Not quite rap.
Justin Beeper and Beyoncé would be ideally suited to this if there were a revival

Beppe Sapone hope you are joking.
No. Please no.
I Wanted that rock song from the 80s stupid ok Google. This is crap.
I guess you drank a full gallon of dumb bitch juice the day you decided to make this comment.
You wouldn't know good music if it hit you in the face.
