Scotland Scone Palace to me is the most spiritual significance in all of the United Kingdom. It gets glossed over and fades into historical background. Thank you for sharing this video.
From Australia, just loving these programs and fitting them into my day. Enjoying the conversations about history and the beautiful rooms and artefacts. The trees and the countryside are very picturesque, and it is marvellous the care and attention that is given to these ancient buildings to ensure they have a future. Thanks for this excellent program.
Thank you very much for this exceptional tour. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The history of this palace is staggering. I have such respect for the families who are charged with preserving the heritage and history of these magnificent places for future generations. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Thank you for your intelligent and kind comment! I am so tired and sick of these envious and unintelligent people that have to make rude comments! It is refreshing to see a kind and well thought comment! Once again THANK YOU! Patricia Gambino Harrington
I had the pleasure of visiting Scone palace a few years ago with my dear friend who had since passed,we were actually on our way to St Andrew’s,took a wrong turning and ended up at Scone, was the best wrong turning ever,I’m so keen to revisit, the beauty of the place is awe inspiring
That was Great! Thanks so much again for providing such interesting and informative podcasts! I'm related to Robert the Bruce so was exciting to see where he was coronated. Love your channel!
Just wonderful, thank you. I really, really love to see those trees! Fancy having a scone at Scone! I’d be in rapture. Thank you so much for this . 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
It’s absolutely jaw dropping to see the amount of money & tireless work that went in to just an overnight visit from a queen & her husband. I’m sure there was a lot stress involved as well as being overwhelmed by all of the royal entourage that she traveled with. But to go to such lengths of extravagance is kinda appalling. I get she was a queen, but it was already at that point a palace fit for a queen. I see this all over the uk in different time periods. They all did this. It’s crazy.
I like old castles, palaces and mansions, which is why I subscribe. Today I noticed the intro. It reminds me of Agatha Christie's stories and films. Old mansions with large parks and modern cars (Corvette) - I wouldn't be surprised if Hercule Poirot suddenly came around the corner, or mabye Inspector Barnaby... Thanks for the insights into such mansions.
There is a Pratchett book about the Scone of Stone, which is I think really based on this. It's about Dwarven politics, and crowing royalty etc. Check it out.
Amazing! There is so much history. I am very excited to see how it turns out with the new kitchen and all the things. I hope you can go back during the Christmas season. I bet it will be incredible. Thank you for sharing all this beauty.
Ideas.... be certain your restaurant space would support weddings also. A botanical lane and greenhouse for teaching and plants for gardens and sale locally of plants to members. I also recommend an expanded docent program of volunteers to help maintain the palace home and gardens. You should have space for monthly art shows. Also..... a cutting garden for flowers for a florist for the community at large, events, restaurant n all public n private spaces. You talked about the children's playground you wish to put in. A young scollars learning center for botany and history. Also would it be possible to use a greenhouse also as a part of a butterfly house concept. Blessings on your 100yr plan!
@@jimorr820 I think they are referring to the host, which at first it was not bothering me but as I watched several more of these, I can sort of lean into understanding why people may find her annoying, etc etc. The one thing I keep noticing and picking up is that she keeps cutting her sentences off halfway through then jumping to another comment or question, as well as her repeating a word or phrase when someone else is speaking at the same time they do. Just let the people speak and finish their sentence completely first. Just little quirks, but I put that all aside and am here for the history first and the wonderful architecture and art, furniture etc. 👍
It is kind of wild as a Canadian hearing how UK folks talk about the colonization and "discovery" of North American areas (and fully glossed over things like how Cook was killed..)
Such a fascinating history! My great grandfather went to Canada from Scotland. I’m way down here in Arizona, now! We’ve been told that we’re related to Robert the Bruce, but I’m not sure how successful my sister has been in proving that or not. Either way, this is very interesting.

The "Stone of Destiny" was brought from the Holy Land to Ireland, it was lended to Scotland, the British stole it from the Scotts, thus Ireland is where it should be. That is a piece of History I haven't done justice, it very much is worth finding its Authentic History. 💛

I'm a descendant of Kenneth MacAlpin, the first king of Scotland! We were the Royal Scythians before the migration age! We descend from Hercules, the first king of Scythia. It turns out Hercules was Samson of the Bible! This means Gaels are lost Jews in the Tribe of Dan. The pillars of Hercules are the pillars Samson pulled down at the Temple of Dagon.
It's not like Hawaii already had a name named by it's own people when Ham and Cheese's Cook named these populated islands. Queen Liliʻuokalani should visited Britain and named it Poi. But I find this American girl's adoration of foreign tyrants more than a little annoying.
May i ask where are your documentaries about the peoples of colour who worked in these stately homes/castles? You appear to become carried away with the "whiteness" of it all, constantly talking over people. As a British born black woman with West Indian ancestry, i feel you are only interested in "titles" ... & you as an American born woman known that your American plantations/houses did NOT run themselves. How about reporting on the down trodden Scottish, Irish, African, Welch who kept the "grandeur" places A LIVE & RUNNING...? 🤔 ...you stem from a multi racial country USA, & you NOW live in a multi racial country, UK 🇬🇧 Thank you. 😊
It’s “Welsh” not welch plus downtrodden English people (my grandmother who was in service, was one of them) also helped with the upkeep of those places, since you are talking about being inclusive.

Whenever (all the time) I fantasize about forever moving to Scotland, it's partly because, when I'm there, I don't have to hear THIS voice.

The most delicious of all palaces when paired with tea. I recommend a good Earl Grey.

Because they attend schools in England and hobnob with southerners.

Seems like he should have been granted a day off with pay to have a visit from the Queen. 😂😂😂
isb't stormoubt also the name of the castle in dublin where the northern irish goverment gas it officail home.
Dublin is in Southern Ireland, whereas Belfast is in Northern Ireland
Scottish castles arnt british.
As a British born black woman with West Indian ancestry, i feel you are only interested in "titles"
... & you as an American born woman known that your American plantations/houses did NOT run themselves.
How about reporting on the down trodden Scottish, Irish, African, Welch who kept the "grandeur" places A LIVE & RUNNING...? 🤔
...you stem from a multi racial country USA, & you NOW live in a multi racial country, UK 🇬🇧
Thank you. 😊
Why don’t you make your own documentary ?
It’s “Welsh” not welch plus downtrodden English people (my grandmother who was in service, was one of them) also helped with the upkeep of those places, since you are talking about being inclusive.
@dionnegonsalves8188 and nobody cares about how triggered you are!
Her accent is so hard to understand.
