Hey Man, Thank you so much for this video! It's funny I came across your video. I also had my Honda Crv 2012 totalled by a rash driver. That was my first car. It was very sad and I want a daily driver. I'm looking into this Toyota Prius '09 for 3500 with 209k miles. I'm not sure still I don't know much about cars. I'm going to get a mechanic to inspect it well if owner allows me to. Any word of advice would be a relief!
These things last like 600,000 miles at a much higher rate than other vehicles … I realize that these things basically run at idle their whole life , and the engine really just comes on to charge the battery so the wear and tear on these cars is so much less overall than a regular gasoline vehicle.. they were made really well almost to the point where you would think a car company would not want to make it any more reliable because they’re too good already. I just bought a 2005 Prius , 215,000 miles for 1200 bucks. You had a little dent on the front quarter panel or a little scuff came from an auction about a year ago. It’s amazing how well it drives when I average about 50 miles a gallon 48 miles to a gallon I would say.
Yes. I’m not a fan of the terrible process to create the hybrid batteries, but I could not walk away from an excellent used Prius deal like I got on this a few years ago and it has been such a great car. Close to 500 miles out of 10.9 gallon tank. Totally dependable. I hope the Camry hybrid I just bought lasts as well.
It will run another 250k miles. As they say for ROLEX watches, You really don't own a TOYOTA. You simply take care of it until you pass it on to a new driver.
When I go in a taxi in uk invariably a Prius. Always Asian drivers who are canny in what they buy. I look at mileages in taxis and regularly 300-500k miles
I recently bought a 2008 Prius (touring) what ever that means I can't tell the difference. Runs good for now with 245K on it. I had a 2010 that I owned for 3 years with no problems but then all at once the brakes went out {hybrid brakes) you can still stop and then the head gasket blew and it would run rough on start up. So...I would not recommend the 2010 and we will see how the 2008 Prius goes.
Recently bought me an 09 Prius with 246k miles on it. I love it.
Is it going strong. I'm thinking about getting the same but it has fewer miles at 209k for 3500. I'm still on the edge. Don't know much about cars :(

As a prius owner, I think hybrids are better than EV's. Cheaper and more reliable

Where to get another MFD screen? Mine is dead, they dont make new.
I always found a lot of information and sources on Facebook Prius groups. Just join a couple of those groups.
Great cars, I've owned three, still have two of them. That one is not a Touring.

@@frankroper3274 2007 to 2009 is my favorite year range. The touring has the back up camera and CD changer. Can’t beat that 1.5L!
@@gbryant65 I have that but no fog lights. The seats are cloth.
