I got a leopard gecko last week! Have no experience with reptiles at all and I’ve been doing as much research for her. I named her Esper and she seems to be at least 6 months old.
Hey there, I really love your channel! It is really informative and we watched heaps of your videos before we got our geckos a year ago. Now I was hoping to get some advice from you about one of our three girls we got from a lady who wanted to get rid of her and used to house her with four other geckos in a 100x50cm tank. Now we have her alone in a 40x60cm tank. We got her back up to 60grams in the last year as she was super skinny but now we are having some problems. She has not eaten for four weeks and her tail is getting thinner than it should be. We offer her gutloaded mealworms and crickets from forceps as well as from a feeding bowl. She is also awake and super active over the day, jumping from hide to hide. The only information we got from her previous owner is that she is at least 9 years old. I dont know what to do as we have no vet specialising in reptiles close to us and I dont want her to endure a 3 hour transport. Do you have any tips on how we could get her to eat? Thank you so much for your content, we really appreciate it. It helps us a lot with our girls. :)
She’s likely ovulating but she shouldn’t be losing weight. It would be best to take a fecal sample to the exotic vet to check for parasites or anything else. Just wondering, are the other two females housed together?
@@fionashepley478 Yes they are without any problems. They are from the same litter (?) and used to each other. Plus one of them is an enigma and flips out when she is alone for a time longer than an hour. When we first found out she had the neurological disorder we tried housing her alone but it didnt work. They both stop eating when they are seperated and never sleep in different hides. Thank you for the advice! I will see if I can find an exotic vet who will do an analysis for us. :)
Theoneintheknittedcardigan sharing hides is actually a major sign of dominance. Leopard geckos are solitary animals and don’t benefit at all. It’s very stressful to keep them together. I’ve seen countless cases of geckos seeming fine for years, then snapping and seriously injuring or killing each other. Not worth the risks at all. They stopped eating when separated because of the change in their environment, they just need time to adjust. You could put them in a large enclosure and put a glass divider between them so they can still see each other but can’t physically harm each other. I strongly recommend reading this, an article written by a person who housed two females together for a few years before they fought (it talks about them refusing to eat when separated): aminoapps.com/c/reptiles/page/item/cohabiting-leopard-geckos/D8Qg_QpxUNIM8BDlKwQwYGZQzgrJ3Q1WWV8
With your deep heat projector, do you plan on putting all your leo tanks on the deep heat? And is it on all the time? I'm seriously interested in it for my own geckos.
Yep, so Minnie is next, it may be trickier to add in Gizmo's and Diego's at the moment - - I don't know if you saw my install but I had to kind of pop them through the roof and both Giz & Diego's tanks have something above them, but yeah the DHP is great!
Idk if any of these help my case. Please do get in touch with me. I took in a gecko from my friend who didn't really know what they were doing and he had some bites from beetles on him and 2 layers of stuck shed. I got the shed off and his bites are healing but he's not eating and he's super skinny. Thanks
My leopard geckos tail has died but has never fallen off . He has half a plump tail and the other half is shriveled up and dead ...I want to remove it but idk if I should . Any tips for me ???
Hi, just to say I love your videos you’re brilliant! Anyway thing is our leopard gecko is almost 20 years old and was bought for my son who left home around 6 years ago, I’ve been caring for Ben the gecko since. I say caring but really just following routine and everything we’ve done for 20 years. In the past few months I’ve noticed he’s a lot slower, sheds a lot more and just generally not himself. I have taken him to the vet and he thinks he may have a bit of gout in his legs but other than that looks pretty good still and suggested it’s usually environment problem and suggested a few things to look into. Since then I’ve become a bit obsessed with sorting him out and to my horror it’s a wonder he’s survived and is pretty healthy. I’m changing things big time and hope it doesn’t stress him out. First 20 years back we were told by books and experts to use calci sand once he was around a year!!! Second we were told to have a basking light on in the day then goes off and the heat mat comes on at night (both on timers). We’ve only ever dusted crickets and locusts with calcium! So, first of all I’m changing the substrate (going to put earth mix arid and eco earth in two areas of viv ). Next I’m buying an Arcadia T5 uvb lamp but I don’t know if I should still use the basking light alongside it, someone has told me yes but I’d like your advice too if poss. the room he’s in is light but not really bright. Lastly, I’m confused when to have the heat mat on day or night? He goes and sits on it at night up the hot end of viv. He has good temperatures in viv at the mo and in the day goes between the middle and colder end. Gave him 3 wax worms from tweezers today, it’s the first time he’s had them and he loved the. Really want to keep the little man going healthy and happy for as long as I can and I know I’ve written a lot here but if you can take it all in any advice would be great. You’re advice about getting skin off is brilliant by the way, he’s never had any trouble shedding everything off but now I’m having to help him, guess that’s another reason I think he’s not 100% ...poor boy breaks my heart....could be just old age I suppose! Thank you
Oh my goodness thank you! I have always tried to get my gecko to eat even more because their tails are not too fat. Geckie (my juvenile) is still pretty little! But her tail is looking good now that I see.. But Godzilla's (my baby gecko) tail is not skinny but not fat either, I got them both from my garden and they are getting so use to me now, I hold them and pet them, actually, Godzilla did not had half of his tail when I got him and it barely grew is it the reason why is not fat yet? #ILoveYourVideos
my gecko is eating a lot but not gaining weight. I got him (or her IDK) from Petco it has gained 2 grams over two weeks. my sister and I got them from the same tank but hers has already gained 6 grams! please help
So I used to be a “chain stores aren’t that bad- I’ve gotten healthy geckos from petco and petsmart!” Well, I’ve changed my mind. Especially on petco. I unfortunately lost three babies i purchased from petco to stick tail. The last one to pass, my baby Rose, hung on for four months as she wasted away. I took her to the vet every month to see if anything could be done. She was five months old and 2 grams when she passed in my hands as I was giving her the paste the vet gave me. I’ve bought five leos from petco and adopted two more (legitimate adoption, there were adults housed in the back that had just been surrendered and the store was adopting them out. The male was missing all the toes on his front left foot and the last quarter inch of his tail had been bitten clean off, though he grew it back quite rapidly and it’s got spots on it now and everything so he’s good) I’ve had those two for almost two months and they’re completely fine- though I did stick the decor that my baby had in her cage before she passed in his cage before I realized it was most likely crypto so he’s on extremely close watch for the next six months or so. Out of the five leos I bought from petco, one is alive. (Though a second one escaped and we haven’t found her body so I’m presuming she’s dead). I buy my food from petco cause it’s the closest place to my house, but every time I go, the leos seem thinner. The one I bought from petsmart (baby sister’s passed and she’s already lost multiple pets in the passed 6 months so my mom had me run out, buy a new tank and buy a new gecko) is incredibly healthy and I was actually given incredibly good advice (while they can be cohabbed as babies you shouldn’t do it with adults, never use loose substrate, quarantine the gecko before you introduce another Leo to that vicinity, etc) but I don’t know if every petsmart is like that- though I can say they seem to be much more competent when it comes to Leo care than petco. Anyways, this is a long ass way of saying that even if you have one good experience with a chain store, it doesn’t mean the horror stories aren’t true. I’m thinking about looking for a Leucitic girl this summer and while the petco is currently selling them, I’ve already got tickets to a reptile expo to see if I can find one there first.
my leapord gecko recently was stressed and would not eat. he didn't like the food we purchased for him. so we got him some meal worms and he is eating very much now. he is also gaining back weight. is it ok to have sand as a base for a tank ? the sand is pet store bought. and he has a 75 watt uv light
Mealworms are fatty and difficult to digest, not a healthy staple. Try live crickets and Dubia/discoid roaches, as well as other worms (silkworms and black soldier fly larvae are the healthiest, others include superworms and hornworms). Sand can be very dangerous, there are much better options. Paper towel, non-adhesive shelf liner, or textured tile are all good solids. It’s best to offer digging enrichment with reptisoil, organic top soil, or a bioactive substrate. You could do full loose, half and half, or full solid with a dig box. Can you link the type of light you’re using?
What would be the reason a leo has a smooth tail instead of a rigid tail like yours displays? I have a few and they have completely different tails from each other, but I was told they were from the same clutch.
Help my baby leopard gecko hasn’t eaten in 2 days. It refuses to eat, and other days has been a very difficult eater. Takes 20 minutes to feed 2 mealworms, is it just not hungry?
hey in one of your videos you said to feed a juviniel every other day, i just got mine 3 days ago didnt eat the first night ofcoarse from stress, i was worried it wasnt fed a lot at the petsmart so i fed it as soon as i got home from work iknow i should wait till theyre active on their time, anyway it ate 5 lil crickets yesterday and it ate like 12 maybe some more today but in 2 feddings, one when i got home again and i did again because it was so cute coming out of its warm hide for my fingers as i hand feed, but my point is i tried googling it but no luck, my gecko apears healthy and properly energized for its age im just worried im over feeding it
hello leopard gecko! i just recently got a leopard gecko and he hasn’t been eating, he was fed crickets from the place i got him. i have been trying to feed him dubia roaches because of their nutritional value. though he hasn’t been very interested in the dubias, would it be better if i try to feed him crickets and mealworms instead of the dubias or just wait a while? he did just get into a new tank so i was thinking he just wanted to get settled in, but i wanted to ask you to see if you could help.
You could always offer one dubia whilst you're feeding crickets. He may start getting all excited about the crickets and launch at the dubia by mistake but then get the taste for dubias :)
I need to know if Leo's need heat light. my granddaughter got a blue lighted hear source. but she has an under tank heat pad. does this blue light have to be on all the time? it is not over the heat mat or the cold hide.i guess I'm wondering is it necessary for the leo
Hay again I made my own little diy incubator temp laying at 81.1 humidity at 86% but I have a question can I use coco fiber or do I need to use that white pearlite or vermiculite stuff
I think i've read vermiculite is good, but i'm really not sure tbh, i've never done it, you may have to look up some breeding leo sites or videos. good luck :)
yeah so the one i'm holding is an albino, my other yellow gecko, Ziggy, is a R.A.P.T.O.R which stands for Ruby Eyes, Albino, Patternless, Tremper, Orange :)
Hello! I like your videos a lot! I have two leopard geckos and I was wondering if I could show you some pictures and you could tell me if they are healthy and how old they are, thankyou
Hey! I have been watching a lot of your videos recently and you seem like you really know how to care for geckos! I'm getting a gecko in a week or two and I really would like to know what the necessities are for setting up a tank? I am buying from PetSmart because I fell in love with one of the little guys there but I know their tank isn't exactly the best from what I've seen on your channel. I saw your video on how you set up your tank for Gizmo, but is there a way you could maybe do a post with links to all the things one would need to get started? It would be 100000% appreciated, I want to be the best gecko owner I can be. Thank you!!!!
Please don’t buy from petsmart! They’re one of the worst places you could buy from. They buy from mills and often have bad care, and buying animals from them only supports that. Find a reputable breeder. Check Craigslist and reptile expos. As for the necessities: 20 gallon long minimum for an adult. Paper towel. Heat mat, thermostat, and digital thermometer. Three hides minimum. Water dish. Climbing enrichment. Be sure to get calcium and multivitamins. I would also get reptisafe
One of my Leo’s my boy Sammy won’t eat anything dusted he literally spits it out. I do leave a calcium dish without D3 in his enclosure but he won’t eat the multivitamin for anything. Any suggestions?? Please 🙏🏽
hey so this video was great but i found you didn’t include on how to tell if your geckos tail is or isn’t plump enough. like i don’t know if my geckos tail is plump enough!!
Make sure they’re digital with probes, not analog/dials. Put the thermometer probe on the warm side substrate and the hygrometer probe somewhere else on the substrate
Aw thank you :) well I do have a video on how to make your leopard gecko love you - ruclips.net/video/0MabskoMh08/видео.html 😅 but i guess my geckos are a little older so i've had them a while and I handle them regularly :)
I know its off topic, but I don't know what to do. I just got my first leopard gecko, and on the first day he ate like 4 crickets, everything was fine. On the second day i gave him wax worms and since then he won't eat the crickets, he sees them but he doesn't care. And my issue is that wax worms should be treats and they are not healthy for a long time but he just want to eat those. How should i get him back to the crickets? Sorry for the long text and my bad english.
My male gecko hasnt eaten for a week and im not sure why, when he does eat its usually a couple of locusts every four days food is always offered but he refuses it. He refuses meal worms and only wants locusts , hes very long and not particularly plump, should i be worried?
Leopard Gecko only wax worms but dont want to just give him those because theyre not beneficial to him, do you think he might just be acting fussy to get more of them?
hey yall, can you help, my gecko is fed every other day, hes a adult and his tail isnt as thick as diego or her geckos. i give him vitamin supplement once a month since that is the supplement schedule she uses for adults, to you think i can tweek and of these habits so he could have a plumper tail? thanks.
Feed him every 3-4 days. Don’t worry about his tail. As long as it isn’t sickly thin, and he isn’t losing weight, you have nothing to worry about. A lot of the geckos you see online are actually overweight. Regarding supplements, dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings. Or Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding.
Nah tbh they probably wont take in as much as they need. You can leave it a calcium dish, for a little extra calcium, but dusting it super easy to do :)
Best not to have any supplements in the tank. Dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings, or use Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding.
Definitely don’t use tomato or lettuce. Tomato will make the feeders toxic and lettuce has very little nutritional value. Carrot, potato, apple, and greens are good. Avoid citrus, tomato, and watermelon. Limit kale, spinach, oats, broccoli, mango, bok choy, and banana (calcium binders)
I’ve got a youngster and he’s still a bit skinny looking but he’s an eating machine and he’s definitely healthy he’s mom has been very productive this season so she’s also looking skinnyish right now but she’s taking a break for the rest of the season and next year I’ll have her some tank mates (MAYBE) so that will be fun
Please don’t get her tank mates! They’re solitary animals and don’t benefit at all. It would be very stressful. I’ve seen countless cases of geckos seeming fine for years, then snapping and seriously injuring or killing each other. Gender doesn’t matter. It’s not worth the risks at all.
Fiona Shepley yeah that’s what I meant by maybe because I’d heard about it but I was thinking about looking into but it’s a bad idea so I’m not risking anybody getting injured, I’m definitely getting more geckos but not cohabbed
One of my older rescue girls lays eggs 2 times a year and she gets so thin it's scary vets say theres not really anything they can do because shes so old the surgery is just too risky so I just feed her a lot of fattier foods thankfully shes not picky and will eat just about anything that moves but she also never gets super chunky like others and that is normal as long as they are healthy and happy
I have a been following your channel for a little while. and I was wondering what the best way to tame a new gecko I got mine on friday just got gone its 6 months old and I have handled eligh (the name for my gecko) once but everytime I slowly try to handle they get spooked and try to climb up a wall they are eating fine but I dont know what the best method to calming him/her down when they get spooked I leave eligh alone and just sit and talk to him/her but can't seem to make eligh feel comfortable enough to handle any suggestions ?
@@leopardgeckotalk I did try that once but it appeared to have spooked eligh a bit more as eligh jumped right out my hand luckily I kept my hand in the vivarium and kept it not far off the floor as to make sure eligh wouldn't hurt himself if that was to happen I'm a little nervous to keep handling eligh as I don't want to spook him out to much
@@vintagestealth8802 ive tried hand feeding but eligh just runs and lifts his take and back and starts to try hide away so I put the cricket down and let eligh chase the food and then its fine but still doesn't like being handled

Your gecko needs mainly crickets or Dubia roaches, worms shouldn’t be their main diet. Take worms out 24 hours before feeding to gutload them.
Fiona Shepley do you know where I can get dubia roaches other then online because my local petstore doesn’t have Dubai roaches
Choco Coco you can check out reptile expos when they happen.
Fiona Shepley ok thank you.

Hey! I have a question. Can Leo’s have tap or filtered water? Or do I need a special chemical to filter out the chemicals in water? Thx!
I usually either use bottled water, or tap water that I've left out for 24 hours or more, but you can also get 'reptisafe' water treatment :)
Leopard Gecko tysm! You’ve encouraged me to get my own Leo!

hi i need help what should i feed my leopard gecko was worms, super worms, or mealworms, what worms do you feed your gecko?
Hey there, I really love your channel! It is really informative and we watched heaps of your videos before we got our geckos a year ago. Now I was hoping to get some advice from you about one of our three girls we got from a lady who wanted to get rid of her and used to house her with four other geckos in a 100x50cm tank. Now we have her alone in a 40x60cm tank. We got her back up to 60grams in the last year as she was super skinny but now we are having some problems.
Quick question can you put crickets in a box without aspen and them jumping out?
Your channel has helped me sooo much I’m thinking about getting a gecko one day😊
With your deep heat projector, do you plan on putting all your leo tanks on the deep heat? And is it on all the time? I'm seriously interested in it for my own geckos.
Yep, so Minnie is next, it may be trickier to add in Gizmo's and Diego's at the moment - - I don't know if you saw my install but I had to kind of pop them through the roof and both Giz & Diego's tanks have something above them, but yeah the DHP is great!
I using my inksnowflying wallet/phone case right now. I have the Leo print. Super cute! Totally recommend!
Aw awesome, yeah the print is really cool 😊
My gecko paste away yesterday 😭 i hope i get a new one i had iT 10 years 😭😓
Sorry for your loss 😭😂😢
Aww I’m so sorry to hear that❤️❤️❤️
sorry to hear that 😔
Give him a shout awt that might help
I got a new one yesterday so i might have his soul in my new one sorry for your loss
I really needed this
Hi, just to say I love your videos you’re brilliant! Thank you
I don't own any geckos, only dogs and cats actually, but I'm still watching your videos :D
I watch just to see the geckos! Mine does have a fat tail though..
thanks 😅
my gecko is eating a lot but not gaining weight.
Love that hoodie
my leapord gecko recently was stressed and would not eat. he didn't like the food we purchased for him. so we got him some meal worms and he is eating very much now. he is also gaining back weight. is it ok to have sand as a base for a tank ? the sand is pet store bought. and he has a 75 watt uv light
This is really late, but they likely dropped their original tail and that tail is the regenerated one.
Help my baby leopard gecko hasn’t eaten in 2 days. It refuses to eat, and other days has been a very difficult eater. Takes 20 minutes to feed 2 mealworms, is it just not hungry?
Feed mainly small crickets or Dubia roaches. What’s the warm side temperature and do you have a digital thermometer?
I just got a Leo and she’s is a little scared how long should I wait
This helps alot , thanks
hey in one of your videos you said to feed a juviniel every other day, i just got mine 3 days ago didnt eat the first night ofcoarse from stress, i was worried it wasnt fed a lot at the petsmart so i fed it as soon as i got home from work iknow i should wait till theyre active on their time, anyway it ate 5 lil crickets yesterday and it ate like 12 maybe some more today but in 2 feddings, one when i got home again and i did again because it was so cute coming out of its warm hide for my fingers as i hand feed, but my point is i tried googling it but no luck, my gecko apears healthy and properly energized for its age im just worried im over feeding it
hello leopard gecko! i just recently got a leopard gecko and he hasn’t been eating, he was fed crickets from the place i got him. i have been trying to feed him dubia roaches because of their nutritional value. though he hasn’t been very interested in the dubias, would it be better if i try to feed him crickets and mealworms instead of the dubias or just wait a while? he did just get into a new tank so i was thinking he just wanted to get settled in, but i wanted to ask you to see if you could help.
No, get rid of the light.
My brother has a gecko but the people that gave it to us damaged her tail. Will her tail be able to regrow full length or will it stay a little small?
Was her tail like damaged as in it was dropped? Because if a leopard geckos tail ever drops its tail it wont look the same as it use to.
Are those giant Leo’s or regular, wondering if my normal Leo will grow that big
my gecko have deemed mealworms only worthy to be sat on
Does anyone no what kind of leopard gecko the light ones are. It’s the one at the very beginning. Or is that just a regular one
Roman Mai Albinos, usually
yeah so the one i'm holding is an albino, my other yellow gecko, Ziggy, is a R.A.P.T.O.R which stands for Ruby Eyes, Albino, Patternless, Tremper, Orange :)
Thanks so much. I did some research and found out I’m pretty sure it is a tremper
Hello! I like your videos a lot! I have two leopard geckos and I was wondering if I could show you some pictures and you could tell me if they are healthy and how old they are, thankyou
Just wondering, are they housed together? And if you send me pictures on Instagram I may be able to help (my name is fionashepley)
Fiona Shepley I requested to follow you and I will continue the conversation on Instagram!
Fiona Shepley I dm both pictures
Can you do a video of what to do if you go on vacation and not to do?
Yup already done a video, here it is :) ruclips.net/video/fff4nEuOMLs/видео.html
One of my Leo’s my boy Sammy won’t eat anything dusted he literally spits it out. I do leave a calcium dish without D3 in his enclosure but he won’t eat the multivitamin for anything. Any suggestions?? Please 🙏🏽
Try different brands. I would remove the dish.
Have any of your geckos thrown there tail. Could you possibly make a video about what to do if they do in that case?
Ah i've never actually experienced that thankfully. I could definitely look into it and maybe make a video based on the info i could find :)
hey so this video was great but i found you didn’t include on how to tell if your geckos tail is or isn’t plump enough. like i don’t know if my geckos tail is plump enough!!
A day or so after I feed my gecko I see the meal worms I fed him I think he is throwing them up but I'm not sure what should I do
Great video!! Very helpful 😄💜
thank you 😊
My leopard gecko keeps climbing on the background and she cannot get down. Help?
You could take out the background if you feel it’s necessary. Or rearrange the decor underneath
Where do I put my hydrometer/thermometer? Under substrate or to the wall?
Make sure they’re digital with probes, not analog/dials. Put the thermometer probe on the warm side substrate and the hygrometer probe somewhere else on the substrate
Do you need to dust the crickets?
Yep :)
How do you dust them?
I struggle a lot :D
Dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings. Shake them in a zip lock bag or dip them in the supplement container
The axolotl looks cute. Its face looks like a porings face
Man your gecko is so chill how to you make them like that whats you strat to tame/be use to u you even touched its tail and it didnt freak out how tho
Jacob Varel she has older vids on taming them :)
Aw thank you :) well I do have a video on how to make your leopard gecko love you - ruclips.net/video/0MabskoMh08/видео.html 😅 but i guess my geckos are a little older so i've had them a while and I handle them regularly :)
How’s your stick insect getting on?
I know its off topic, but I don't know what to do. I just got my first leopard gecko, and on the first day he ate like 4 crickets, everything was fine. On the second day i gave him wax worms and since then he won't eat the crickets, he sees them but he doesn't care. And my issue is that wax worms should be treats and they are not healthy for a long time but he just want to eat those. How should i get him back to the crickets? Sorry for the long text and my bad english.
Don’t feed anymore waxworms. He will start eating crickets again eventually. You can also try other insects for variety
@@fionashepley478 Thank you!😊 I will try then some new insects.
My male gecko hasnt eaten for a week and im not sure why, when he does eat its usually a couple of locusts every four days food is always offered but he refuses it. He refuses meal worms and only wants locusts , hes very long and not particularly plump, should i be worried?
Hmm strange, have you tried any other insects? Sometimes they get a little bored of some foods, I've found recently Diego cba to eat crickets.
Can you please make a taming video
I you are traveling can you feed the gecko dry food with D3?
Leopard geckos shouldn’t be given dry food. Most refuse it and it’s not nutritious at all.
Hmmmm. If I make you fan art, I'mma make you without a head
😂😂 or.. or.. I have like an epic gecko head 😅
Is it ok to have a vitamin dish instead of dusting the food?
Nah tbh they probably wont take in as much as they need. You can leave it a calcium dish, for a little extra calcium, but dusting it super easy to do :)
Best not to have any supplements in the tank. Dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings, or use Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding.
Love to watch your videos I can't wait to see your new videos😍😍😍😍😍😍
My friend is asking if he can just have one hide for a 4month old Leo gecko with a heat mat
Lucifer's Lucid Dreams k thx
Best to have three: warm, cool, humid.
What veg or fruit should I use because when I use tomato or lettuce it can sometimes go mouldy
Omg ty so much
I’ve got a youngster and he’s still a bit skinny looking but he’s an eating machine and he’s definitely healthy he’s mom has been very productive this season so she’s also looking skinnyish right now but she’s taking a break for the rest of the season and next year I’ll have her some tank mates (MAYBE) so that will be fun
I need that axolotl backpack haga
One of my older rescue girls lays eggs 2 times a year and she gets so thin it's scary vets say theres not really anything they can do because shes so old the surgery is just too risky so I just feed her a lot of fattier foods thankfully shes not picky and will eat just about anything that moves but she also never gets super chunky like others and that is normal as long as they are healthy and happy
Ah yeah mine are the same, but i do find they bounce back quite quickly.
@@leopardgeckotalk she used to bounce back much faster but as shes gotten older its slowed down a lot
Just wondering, are any of the geckos housed together?
@@fionashepley478 nope no geckos are together unless breeding
I have a been following your channel for a little while. and I was wondering what the best way to tame a new gecko I got mine on friday just got gone its 6 months old and I have handled eligh (the name for my gecko) once but everytime I slowly try to handle they get spooked and try to climb up a wall they are eating fine but I dont know what the best method to calming him/her down when they get spooked I leave eligh alone and just sit and talk to him/her but can't seem to make eligh feel comfortable enough to handle any suggestions ?
GhoulRen I always hand fed my gecko when he was younger, he tamed up very quick.
Ah have you tried just scooping Eligh up? Sometimes when you're kind of slow it makes them more wary, if that makes sense?
@@leopardgeckotalk I did try that once but it appeared to have spooked eligh a bit more as eligh jumped right out my hand luckily I kept my hand in the vivarium and kept it not far off the floor as to make sure eligh wouldn't hurt himself if that was to happen I'm a little nervous to keep handling eligh as I don't want to spook him out to much
@@vintagestealth8802 ive tried hand feeding but eligh just runs and lifts his take and back and starts to try hide away so I put the cricket down and let eligh chase the food and then its fine but still doesn't like being handled
