Thank you Bryan. My mentor was John Philp, a Tasmanian boat builder, now sadly missed. But his legacy was strong. He Learnt his craft from master boat builders who could not read a ruler, using a measuring stick instead. So when I asked him how something should be his reply was to "keep it eye-sweet"
Day 3, is on the way Bill. I thought you may be interested in connecting on Linkedin? This is where I conduct the more serious side of business. PLAE is an acronym for Pause, Listen, Affirm something Excellent. I am developing traction around those ideas as a way of reaching out to those in the business community and disadvantage groups struggling with isolation and possibly depression. I read your profile there and noticed your significant influence in the world of medicine, but am prevented from inviting you directly because we are only connected at the 3rd level. So is you are interested, here is the link to my profile Bill. www.linkedin.com/in/christophersly
@@SmallSailboatCruising thanks for the update!! Thanks for the (attempted) add, I just tried adding you and I am being told that you are outside of my 'direct network'. I never knew that was a thing for linkedin
This is great! I live in Hervey Bay and sail a gunter-rigged Mirror. I've toyed with the idea of going from the bay over to Fraser, then down to Tin Can bay. Do you have any other info about your trip in a blog or something? (Gorgeous boat by the way.)
That's a great idea! I have quite a few videos on Fraser Island journeys. Most of them have a lot of details in the descriptions. Some can be found on my website but to be honest I have not been keeping that up-to-date because the youtube channel is quite a bit of work on its own. Here is a link to one of the videos. If you subscribe to the channel, you can see all the videos (52 in total) in sequential order. We did a few trips with mirrors as companion sailboats. I think you will enjoy the videos. ruclips.net/video/8u7EPqTxFrw/видео.html
Peter Sly a very nice person gave that to me. It’s very sharp. When you hear a part of your body land in the floor and didn’t feel it slice it off you know it is sharp.
It has positive buoyancy. We had it happen once on the St Helens bar, 3 kids and 2 adults in the boat, managed to keep her upright and surfed our way to the beach. There is a video about it on the channel.
what a pretty little darling!!

@@SmallSailboatCruising Cheers mate. Thanks very much.
That's a nice knife/map pointer you've got there at the start
And a perfect campsite at the end. Good find.

I have a 9 foot clinker dinghy with Mirror spars and sails. How long is your pretty boat?
Yours qualifies as a genuine Tom Thumb. Moonlight is a generous.12 ft.
What happens if the boat capsizes... can it be recoverd by the crew...
