it's certainly possible but you'd have to chat with angels in your market/community to see if you're filling a gap/need. It's certainly possible but I don't know if it's desirable.
Greg, would you, as a start-up owner, invest in your IP before reaching out for investment? I am sitting, worrying about something being poached from me, but i think that is creating some paralysis-by-analysis.
I would generally start and not worry too much about IP until I had some market validation. I feel it's usually more valuable to iterate quickly on the product and then patent the V2 or V3 that has elements that are non-obvious.

Investing at an angle is tough enough. . In a foreign country, that investment angle can get pretty steep.
